NTLDR 07-10-2004 05:44 PM

What do you mean ? "registered members" usergroup only ? or including the banned users ?
Because if a banned user can shout it's a big deal :ermm: that i think should be changed.

NTLDR 07-10-2004 09:25 PM

Anyone that isn't in the awaiting email confirmation usergroup and is logged in.

hi

i want to change the
default style of vbindex.php (style for guests f.e...)
it is always using the main default style - but i want vbindex.php to appear in a special style always. i am NOT allowed to change the main default of the forums.

any ideas?

Martyjp 07-12-2004 06:22 PM

This has been mentioned a few times before but the install messes up your styles if you have several installed, when you need to change the image paths it displays the wrong paths for the style

gmarik 07-12-2004 10:29 PM

What's the code for having shoutbox on the first page on FORUMHOME?

HaloImpulse 07-15-2004 09:41 PM

I have a problem. Here is the senario.

I have vbulletin and vbindex installed in my root directory. However, whenever i go to www.haloimpulse.com it brings up the forums (index.php). I would like it to bring up vbindex.php instead. Its running on a linux server with apache installed. I think i might need a vbindex hack that will make the forum homepage different and the vbindex homepage index.php. If theres a way i can just make vbindex.php the defualt page, or make www.haloimpulse.com redirect to the vbindex.php page, that would be great

Rename your index.php to forums.php and your vbindex.php to index.php. :)

Barrikin 07-16-2004 09:31 AM

Is there going be a vBindex for Vbulletin 3.0.3

Stan Melony 07-16-2004 11:36 AM

I tried to install this vBindex in my 3.0.3 and i had problems. Can i use it, or will there be an update for 3.0.3 like Barrikin asked?

Mr. Brian 07-16-2004 05:09 PM

Is there any way that I could reinstall this hack (If possible, the template will do)? Just like what ushop provided, with a reinstall scrip.

Many thanks in advance.. :)

NTLDR 07-17-2004 06:05 PM

Just re-run the installer, its possible you'll loose the settings however the templates will be re-added to all parent styles.

What problems? I can see no reason for this not to be 3.0.3 compatible.

I have different problems.
After step three, when i am asked to edit the vBindex options, the vbioptions.php can not be found in my admincp, but when i put in the url manually the vbioptions.php is found! After editing something there comes an error message: "Could not find phrase - vbindex_settings_saved"

Please see my screenshots, can anyone help me? Thank you!

EDIT:

I found the first mistake! The link is set to my real Forum not to my Testforum! But why can?t the changes be saved?

EDIT II:

Now i changed the standard URL in my Testforum, now the vbioptions.php is found, but i get the same mistake with the settings saved... damn :)

Need help, thank you!

What would I Have to do if I wanted to rename vbindex.php and still get it to work?

G3MM4 07-18-2004 11:01 AM

When I installed this hack (I followed the instructions to the letter...), and I pointed my browser (IE6) to the correct URL, all I get is a blank page!

What do I do? This is my first time installing a portal/hack, and I'm no good with actual code.

Allen Mead 07-18-2004 12:55 PM

I give it a go on a fresh install on 3.0.3 - and it didn't work.

Error came straight up saying it couldn't connect to the database.. sorry i didn't note
down the exact error :(

That "error" can be ignored, the settings are saved however you don't seem to have the phrase to say they have been saved.

If it was an error connecting to the database then its a problem with vB and not vBindex. Also make sure you have setup the options correctly.

Make sure you have completed all the steps done by the automated installer and edited vbioptions.php as directed by the first step. You can re-run the installer again to make sure you have done the process correctly.

Nothing other than renaming the file.

Sorry I didn't make myself very clear. I can't even get the first step of the installer to run. I posted the problem over at Core Forums. (http://www.coreforums.net/forums/sho...=2741#post2741)

NTLDR 07-19-2004 02:47 PM

The URL posted was correct, if for some reason it doesn't load point it directly to domain.com/forum/admin/vbiupgrade.php?step=welcome instead.

cashpath 07-26-2004 02:13 PM

ok hope I can get some help on this..

http://www.maddenboard.com

See how the logo is on the left in the middle... then goto the forum and see how the logo is? I want the logo on the vbindex page to be just like it is on the forum page?

Code:

<!-- logo -->
<a name="top"></a>
<table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
<tr>
        <td align="$stylevar[left]"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php?$session[sessionurl]"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]" /></a></td>
        <td align="$stylevar[right]">
<center>

Thats how it is now how do I fix it?

Thanks

Well, disregard my last post I just did if differently

Ogmuk 07-27-2004 11:05 PM

I upgraded to RC5 for the uninstall feature but after upgrading and then uninstalling, all the templates are still there. Does this uninstall work at all?

Sia Bani 07-28-2004 06:19 PM

having some issues. Ok, first off...I want to have vbindex run from my homepage at http://www.tripleplate.com so when people type in that page, vbindex is running . So where do I put the vbindex.php and vbiconfig.php files? Do I have to rename vbindex.php? How do I call on it?

Ok, so I try to run it where I've got it installed currently in tripleplate.com/vbulletin/vbindex.php and I get this error:
Warning: chdir(): No such file or directory (errno 2) in /home/autoworl/public_html/vbulletin/vbindex.php on line 144

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/autoworl/public_html/vbulletin/vbindex.php:144) in /home/autoworl/public_html/vbulletin/includes/functions.php on line 2746

What do I do?

Thanks in advance.
