Have you linked your vb license?

Pure Dope 12-31-2012 08:02 PM

This hack seems to slow down my site.

I think you should modify the posts table, and stick the ids of the LIKES, DISLIKES, THANKS for users in that posts table json formatted. That way you dont have to do that subselect on every post.

Its been disabled on my site.

DragonByte Tech 12-31-2012 08:11 PM

Unfortunately that would be a monumental resource hog for any form of statistics display and is not a feasible option.

Thank you for the suggestion, though :)

ptm878 01-04-2013 12:00 AM

I was unable to get this to work. It would show Post Like Stats but no ability to actually like a post and I was not able to find the Usergroup settings either. This may be because my admincp directory was changed at installation to something other than admincp for security.

That said I have had no issues with other mod installations and I am quite code literate.

Fillip

Yeah, you are right about that. I forgot about the statistics.

Well heres a suggestion. Maybe make it so we can avoid displaying the list of people who have thanked/liked. Or is there already a way to avoid that query?

Simply displaying a number of thanks/likes is sufficient.

But you know what would be dope?

Allowing people to do more than thank/like.

Think about uhh...
LOL, FROWN, SMILE, YUCK, COSIGN etc...

They could click whichever one they wanted too.

Anyway, just thoughts.

Never Mind I figured it out :)

I'm pretty sure that option is available in the pro version. I've made a 'WTF' option.

I am having the same problem. I can see the Admin piece under options. But the users show statistics on the left, but no way to actually like a post. I searched around a bit and couldn't find any information on fixing this.

Any fixes for this?

unbridled1 01-05-2013 06:56 PM

Simple answer. I had to enable this as admin in my usergroup permissions. No more problem and it seems to work well. Thank you!

If your AdminCP directory changed, you need to upload thanks.php from the /upload/admincp folder to your new folder.

Also, you need to enable your userid as Super Administrator in config.php in order to see the DBTech - Thanks sidebar. That, or log on to your SAdmin and grant your normal admin Can Administer Thanks.

Usergroup settings are in the Button Manager, which is hidden until you've done the above :)

Did you post this in the wrong thread? This is the Thanks mod, not the User Tagging mod :)

Does it work on the default (unmodified) theme?

That is a vBulletin error, not related to this mod.

Please re-download your vBulletin from www.vbulletin.com and re-upload it :)

Thank you, I know it was my fault. I accidentally deleted something while in FTP but I wasn't sure what the actual problem was or how to fix it.

Thanks for this mode. The latest version is not working well. I mean the arrow where you can click to show how many thanks given or received, likes and dislikes. The previous version was ok, but no idea why I updated!! :(

My issue now is when any member push the likes or thanks button, the arrow freezes until the page is refreshed. Besides, the click doesn't count anyway the same as before, sadly.

any idea how to get around this issue?

BTW my vb4.2 is where I installed it on...

DragonByte Tech 01-17-2013 02:19 PM

The arrow never worked after someone used Quick Edit to edit their post, or clicked the Thanks button, or used AJAX Quick Reply, ...

It was not created with the intent to support AJAX refreshes, and it cannot be done either sadly.

fxdigi-cash 01-18-2013 03:16 AM

Thanks for the comments, Fillip. The first versions works without any problems. so one of my forums is still using it, but the new versions on another one. I guess I will leave it like that. Thanks

That is an issue with your host, they have configured MySQL too restrictive to use. Pleas either get a better hosting package or ask if they can fix the MySQL configuration.

Please open the two files mentioned in the errors at the lines mentioned in the errors and replace =& with = :)

To clarify, these are 100% unrelated to our mods, it's because vB3 needs to be compatible with 8 year old software (PHP 4) and as such is not compatible with modern software (PHP 5) :)

No, this is not a full-featured Hide hack. These functions are not available in this mod. Sorry :(

MiniTorque 01-23-2013 10:09 PM

Hi - when a user gets a Like/Thanks/Dislike, it gives them a notifcation.

However, clicking on the Likes URL takes them to their activity tab, not the thanks tab. The URL coded is wrong:

Should be:

http://www.xxxxx.com/forum/members/x...=thanks#thanks

How do I change this please?

MiniTorque 01-23-2013 10:30 PM

FIXED.

Was a .htaccess issue.

RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !tab=

Jeromedia603 01-27-2013 09:13 PM

When I get my notifications and I select them, I get this coming up.

HTML Code:

Fatal error:
The encoded file /home/clanskin/public_html/clangfx/includes/functions_wysiwyg.php is not permissioned for 184.154.178.194 in Unknown on line 0
