Couldnt see this addressed anywhere, but when a user clicks on a thread title, the site opens in a new window.

Is there a way of getting to open in the same window ?

RobbieZ 11-15-2010 04:54 PM

TARGET = "_blank"

Is the narrative in HTML for opening a new window.

Removing it should suffice although where this is I'm not sure.

Thank you !

No new on new Megavideo API anyone? All new vids come up dark thumbnails for us. Any info wold be appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Bob_R 11-19-2010 12:39 AM

Sorry if this is a stupid question. But, I have an extreme interest in this hack but I need to know a little more about it.

Do you just post in a thread (or create a thread) and you can embed videos. Or, you add it to a library.

Or, actually both. You add to posts and a library is created?

Again, just trying to get the gist of things.

Please advise.

Thanks!! :)

Have the same issue but at least the videos do work. Jaxel is right about megavideo flipping that API around. I guess the only thing I could suggest is to get the config set for the current API and rebuild the thumbnails. After that, just don't use the rebuild thumbnail function anymore. I noticed that if I add new videos, the thumbnails will work. If I rebuild after that, they go black on the newly added videos too. Maybe when Jaxel has time, he can provide a temporary fix to get the existing thumbnails back, then we can rebuild and move on from there.

You post directly to the hack but it has options to post to a forum as well. I do highly recommend this hack. I've tried several other solutions and this is simply the best one I've ever seen. Easy to use and easy to configure. I am confused why Jaxel is not selling it as a product. He should be swimming in a pool of money right now if he did.

I dont plan on fixing MegaVideo. The last time I went to MegaVideo (2 days ago), I got a MASSIVE virus that took down my system. I managed to eradicate the virus, but it has rendered an essential program unusable (Ahoihoi).

Oh that's bad news. Hope you didn't take a lot of damage or lose data. No plans for megavideo is not good news either but I guess the black thumbs are not such a big deal really if the new ones work.

Ok how about this. Can you post the info for the API and how to adjust the application? That way some of us can try to see if we can come up with a temp solution?

Jaxel 11-19-2010 02:51 PM

Remember, you can manually load thumbnails on the media edit screen...

That would take a great deal of time. Time has never been a friend of mine. Actually I have an idea that I am going to try but it would only work for people who upgraded. If it's successful I will post it. It involves using the thumbnails from the video directory hack. I have not had a chance to investigate yet but I am thinking to take the thumbnails from there and apply it to the directory of the media folder. Well that is considering that I did backup the whole forum up before the upgrade. I can't say that this will be a fix for everyone if it is even do-able.

Anybody knows how to change the width on the right side bar for this mod?

Bob_R 11-20-2010 03:29 AM

zapiy 11-20-2010 12:25 PM

I have edited the perms on this and i still can not see where you create new catagories..

It used to be in the drop menu.

motorola 11-20-2010 05:34 PM

1.How can I change the name of the Media showing in the navbar, I want to rename to Videos ?
2. Is it possible to make sub categories ?
3. How can I decrease the minimum characters for the video title and description ?

Please help!

Ratings are working flawlessly for me... what errors are you getting exactly? Are you using the most up to date version of this? I've updated it several times today.

Yes, if you go into Administration: Services, you can edit the embed code of each of the hosters and turn off the autoplay flags. The flags are different for each service, so you'll have to figure it out on your own.

You can change "Media" to "Videos" in the PHRASES. This entire mod is phrased. So search your phrases for the test "Media"; the one you are probably looking for is in the GLOBAL phrasegroup.

Below is my current htaccess file. It will handle the rewrites you are looking for, and its the htaccess file I recommend everyone use for their forum. This htaccess will handle the rewrites for vbulletin perfectly, as well as cache your images and files perfectly. Using this file, it single handedly sped up my forum from 5 seconds on the front page to less than 1 second on subsequent loads.

For me, the option is go to:

Vbulletin options>8wayrun.com- media library details

SUBMIT: Submission Forum
Which forum should announce the submission of new media? (select forum: disable)

Put this in disable and when you need to create a new theme put the forum.

The video I want to has no restriction regarding the embed code. Anyone knows a solution for this ?

New youtube hoster file is attached... this one will allow hosting of restricted videos, while retaining error handling.
