I'm glad in seeing Phalynx is back here and also to seeing that someone will take over vBEx.
But it's sad to see one of the best guys here going out of this fantastic job. You know, Phalynx mods are not just great but his support over them used to be one of the best on vBOrg and not only fixing bugs but also taking a lot os suggestion on count.

Something tells me it won't get upgraded...

I have the Problem that no awards will generated since two weeks in my board. All other works fine.

I reinstalled the xml but what did not work.

What can I do?

Finally figured it out. Here's what I did if anyone else wants to do the same thing.

1. Used phpMyAdmin to access the vbxperience_stats_changes table
2. Opened http://www.epochconverter.com in a new window
3. Used the converter to see what the dateline field was in normal date/time format
4. Selected all records from the dates I wanted to remove.
5. Clicked delete.

why all the great mods remain unupdate all the time?

i have a problem with vb experience, its palce in postbit_legacy, aboove the avatar, and i want it to move to the place specify in the image attach. i look into the templates but i couldnt find them, antone knows were is the code, to place it on postbit_legacy?

All mods here are free. Not everyone has the time or want to upgrade them every time, and not all upgrades are speedy.

Ok, I have run into an issue. I have searched all the posts on this thread and was unable to find any solution to my issue.

The promotion system is NOT working for me. I downloaded the beta for the promotion manager, added my promotions and it is not working. There are no prior promotions setup in VB's old promotion manager. I have also tried running the cron jobs manually and ran the recount multiple times manually. No luck

This mod is great, but if I can't get the promotions working I have to scrap this.

Has anyone changed the word "Experience" in their nav bar to something a little more intuitive/understandable/relevant/meaningful etc? If so, what did you change it to?

Also, my members want documentation on this system. Did this system come with instructions for the end user, or did anyone write something up that they wouldn't mind sharing?

As I said, it's controlled via hooks in your vBulletin Options. In other words, you need to go to your vBulletin Options and change the hook location. Experience has like seven or eight additional option sections there that are not accessible in the main menu.


I wouldn't know of anything more relevant or accurate than Experience. That's precisely what every Achievement and Award is based on. Your users experience using the forums. As far as end user documentation goes, pretty much they just need to do what they always do, only be aware that this time there's a reward for substantive actions. In other words, if they contribute more to the community in a general way, their Experience points will increase. But other buying stuff from store, there's nothing they "do" with Experience on the user end.

You will need to enable text for the bars. Check Options.

Instead of finding someone to port this to vB4, may be Marius could be interested in doing it as a paid job. I wouldn't mind to share the cost for it, you know, this is a great piece of work and it'd be a pit in getting a "free" vB 4 version from this and have bad support or bad code.

You know, if 10% of Installed users here (more than 1200) give 10 bucks each, I'm sure Marius would be interested.

Thats not gonna happen...

I could feasibly commit $75 (possibly $100) to this cause if we could find enough supporters. Would Marius update it to be compatible with each version of vB 4.x in the future, or are we talking a one-time deal?

Just to make clear: I will not work on vBExperience for money. This is a free project which *must* remain free.

Also I have a bad and a good news. The bad news is that there is no coder that will do the migration to vB4. FreeResellers has returned it to me, as he didn't found a coder.

The good news news is that I will do it now for myself. Expect a release in few weeks. I have to migrate one of my forums to vB4 first. Keep in mind that I don't have much time and cannot provide support like I did few months ago. This effects also updates, which will not be released frequently.

That's good to know. I wanted to wait until I knew for sure that you woriking on this, there are a few HTML errors in the PHP code. When validating I ran into a number of image codes that had two border="0" elements. It was turning out quite a few validation errors. Also, and I'm not entirely sure on this, but I think the there's something wrong in the HTML output of the profile page. When enabled, I can't bring the hidden tabs to the forefront. Haven't been able to root out the direct cause yet, but I know my Video Directory tabs closes everytime I try to close the Achievments tab. I figured there's a connection.

Just thought I'd mention those. Thanks again.

As my time is very limited, I will not support vBExperience 3.8.x any more. I will support vBExperience 4.0 for vB4.
