Only when this add on is enabled?

kronnos 05-01-2013 03:23 AM

What is the process of upgrading to 4.2 if this mod is installed?

1) Should I first upgrade, uninstall it and install the 4.x version of this mod (AME3 - Auto Media Embeding and Video Extender) ?

2) Uninstall it before upgrading to 4.x then install the 4.x version of this mod after upgrade of forum is complete?

Also, would uninstalling remove the the tables originally created by this mod? What are those tables?

Thanks!

I have a new database table with an overhead of exactly 10MB and I can't optimize it. Is this normal?

sweptwingnut 09-06-2013 06:41 PM

Installed vb3.8.7pl3. Works great! Thanks!

I'll be releasing in, hopefully, not long a time, an update of this version of AME. Since The Geek released this to the public, I've been working on my own version and one for vB4. It will only have some small style enhancements, a fleshed out Admin CP help and one or two options the previous version didn't have. I'll let you know here when I release it. But I'd like to know if there's still an audience for continued development of AME 2.5.

Yes please, for vb 3.8.5 :)

Yes, there is :)

testerv 10-05-2013 08:30 PM

There certainly is if it works with 3.8.7

thanks.

jw00dy 10-08-2013 04:06 PM

I still use it!

Digital Jedi 10-08-2013 04:41 PM

Alright, then. I'll go ahead and release it when I'm done. Currently I'm trying to figure out the problem with missing keys when my large master XML is imported. This has been complicated by the fact that my site is down (again) and I'm having trouble getting a backup to restore it. But I have a demo board I can work this out in. I just didn't have my definitions fully loaded there. So that will take me a little while longer. Actively working on it.

Digital Jedi 10-10-2013 03:50 PM

Just to verify this is indeed a PHP error, is anyone besides me having trouble deleting definitions from your list once you have more than a hundred definitions? I'm fairly convinced this is a server error, but if any of you can replicate this problem on your boards, it would help me to work out any final bugs that may or may not exist in AME 2.5.

Digital Jedi 10-12-2013 06:00 AM

If anyone would like to be a Beta tester for me, I should have a copy of AME 2.5.7 ready for testing tomorrow. Sunday at the latest.

|[ANNOUNCEMENT]|

A little later than expected, but ain't that the norm? My fork of The Geek's AME has been posted here: DJ's AME 2.5.7 :: Return of the Jedi (It's not really called that.)

If you'd like to give AME 2.5.7 on your test installations a roll, feel free. And get back to me in that thread with any feedback.

Note that people having problems importing my master list of definitions will probably still experience the same issues with 2.5.7. This appears to be a server issues, rather than a product one. I'll address that issue with the next release of my master definitions set.

This mod needs to be deleted or moved to the grasveryard!!!

It does NOT work on vb3.8x with a new install.

ozzy47 03-27-2014 01:09 AM

Some people still use it and run it successfully, so it won't be graveyarded due to the fact that it is not working for you.

You should try this version, DJ's AME 2.5.7 :: Return of the Jedi (It's not really called that.)

yotsume 03-27-2014 01:12 AM

Yep tried the as well and still doesn't work! Maybe I missed something. For a fresh install do you need to install the additional definitions to get youtube videos to work. Because with both this version and the 2.5.7 neither work with youtube once the mod is installed.

ozzy47 03-27-2014 01:15 AM

I am sure DJ will get to your posts in the mod's thread as soon as he can. :)

yotsume 03-27-2014 01:25 AM

I hope so. The only think I can guess is the issue is that my site has a SSL certificate installed and that is somehow messing with the ability for his mods to embed videos since my site uses https and not http... Anyway that is just a guess...

creativepart 03-27-2014 01:52 AM

Huh? works for me. I installed it within the last 2 months in 8 forums. 3 were 3.7.x, 2 were 3.8.X and 3 were 4.1.X

And do any of the forums you installed this on have a SSL certificate installed making the entire forum secure using HTTPS?
