Those popups are not part of the standard MGC Chat. I'm guessing you added those? Looks like a CSS editor you are in, unless I'm smoking crack, course I haven't slept in 2 days so far.

If I'm correct about any of that, it's the CSS stylesheets doing that.

The reason I say that, is by default, there are not that many options. I also haven't added all the commands either yet. (I'm not the developer just a turd in here that helps VBdev).

readjono 06-16-2008 07:24 PM

Is there any way the XML files could be used to import into a forum? I'd rather archive the shouts on the forum rather than in the shoutbox. Say if I downloaded the XML file, could I upload it some how to post in the forum?

Ranger187 06-16-2008 07:32 PM

Yeah. Enable HTML in that area. Use a parser to export the XML to HTML or TXT.... Should be something on google.

But it's not automated. You'd have to figure that one out.

Does anyone know why it constantly tells me, "Loading..."?

Anyone have any ideas what the problem may be? Or how to go about trying to fix it?

Yeah. You might wanna give more details. ;)

What version of VB.

I'm still having the same problem with the vBa CMPS module however the chatbox works fine over the forum home page. I seem to be getting an unusal security error as can be seen here.

Nope... standard MGC Chatbox. I've not added anything except for the commands that came with the initial product.

Any other ideas?

I pasted the code given by you in my vbseo custom rewrite rules box but still it didnt work :(

intricatic 06-17-2008 03:19 PM

Question: Is it possible to add a per-user functionality to determine where the chatbox displays? For instance: in the UserCP, there is the option to disable the chatbox on a per-user basis, as well as to govern it's formatting. What I'd like to do is allow my users to determine whether the chatbox displays above threads, above forums, or just on the forumhome, on a per-user basis, by the same sort of settings.

cheat-master30 06-17-2008 03:58 PM

Not sure what could be the problem with this, but while 99.9% of this is working, entering the show bans code doesn't open the window, and all moderators have said the same and have the allowed permissions...

I'm not the developer. Just giving my thoughts. I just do most of the help if I can. ;)

That's a great idea, and I think that's something he could/would add to a future release just not right now. It's just a lot to change around because right now the admin chooses where it's displayed. But I think that's a good suggestion.

What forum version are you running (I don't think this matters much), have you tried in other browsers on other computers?

That's really weird. It seems like it's CSS/DHTML formatting. Have you tried all the browsers to see if it's consistant in them all?

Ok... it works ok in IE and FireFox 3 but not FireFox 2. It must be something in the fireFox 2 engine that is screwing it up.

I am not the author of this code sorry. A chatbox user here gave it to me.

I don't know vBSeo custom rules at all so I can't be of any help sorry.

That's an interesting suggestion ! I am putting it in the todo list.

This won't be in the release I am gonna release this month but perhaps in the one of July.

This is perhaps a problem with a difference of CSS interpreter in the different browser.
Is this really a problem ?

(vBulletin 3.7.0 Beta 3)

VBDev 06-18-2008 08:42 AM

You have a vBulletin version older than the 3.6.10 or 3.7 Gold.

You have to apply the fix explained in the readme of the chatbox !

Skyrider 06-18-2008 12:02 PM

VBDev, to explain my second bug better.. If you add a new usergroup and you set them so they can ban people with the ban plugin. You are getting those errors I have shown you. They seem not to have the rights to use /show ban command at all, they get "you don't have access" page, etc.

Also, is there a way you can remove ALL chats with a single button? It took me 20min to remove over 2000 lines of chats.

i have vb gold 3.7 and this is what i get btw i have vbshout disabled not uninstallled would that make a difference?

VbDev,

As I mentioned before, I'm also getting that continual "Loading" message when using the vBa CMPS module for MGC Chatbox. I've installed this addon on at least 2 other vb sites that are running 3.7.x and vBa 3.0.1 and they work fine with the CMPS module. Last week I did a fresh install of a 3.7.1 PL1 site and while the addon works, I can't get the CMPS module to work. Ranger187 was able to determine the following error:

Security Error: Content at http://www.talkmarylandforum.com/ may not load data from http://talkmarylandforum.com/mgc_cb_evo_ajax.php.

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Access to restricted URI denied" code: "1012" nsresult: "0x805303f4 (NS_ERROR_DOM_BAD_URI)" location: http://talkmarylandforum.com/clients...?v=371 Line: 7]

I just upgraded to 3.7.1 PL2, however this has not fixed the issue. I wasn't expecting it to fix it, but I thought I would mention what I have done since. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Jim

Edit: Would something in the .htaccess file cause this? The reason I ask is I just installed a new addon that required some changes in this file and the CMPS mod started working. I went back and maded a few more changes, now it's not working again.

intricatic 06-19-2008 05:18 AM

Hum but does this new usergroup is a secondary one ? I mean, is the user belonging to one usergroup and this usergroup with ban rights ?

Yes, in the archives there is a kinda inline moderation tool for shouts removal.

Have you spoke with stangger5 the releaser of the chatbox module for vba ?

No. The actual error was discovered several days ago and I check that thread on a daily basis sometimes several times a day, however I have not received a reply. This issues is very weird. I've been watching the mod and sometimes it will start working on it's own, then after a while stop working on it's own, or it will work for me on IE 7 and not work for someone else. I'm beginning to wonder if it's the hosting service that may be behind this issue. I currently have this addon and module running fine on both www.friendship-cafe.com and www.kv-guild.net. Both of these are on two different hosting services also, and not related to www.talkmarylandforum.com where I am having the issue.

Hey VBDev,

Perhaps you didn't read it before but could you please take a look at my problem, which is mentioned in this reply:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....postcount=1657

Many thanks for your time.

Take care,

Bozza

TimberFloorAu 06-20-2008 09:13 PM

Since upgrade ( of this mod ) our chat doesnt refresh as a new user posts.

We have to manually hit refresh button to see new replies in the chatbox.

Any suggestions what this could be, it isnt the inactive status, as we have set this to no.

Regards Ozzy

Bozza, I replied to this. Upgrading you need to remove all the commands. Read the readme file again. It's kinda confusing I think for a new person sometimes including the channel commands one. If you need help PM me info and I'll be glad to help out and try to resolve it.

Ozzy, I'm assuming it's vb 3.7.1 per your sig. If that's the case, everything should work and sounds like the same issue Bozza is having, or it's simliar. Did you have any commands added or was it just the chat itself?

Just the chat. Have never figured out the commands lol.

We now have refresh set at 60 seconds, however if its 60 or more.. it doesnt update automatically.

Seems like a timing glitch of some sort.

BozzaJos 06-21-2008 12:05 PM

Ow sorry Ranger187, didn't see your reply. Thanks again for mentioning it. However, it still doesn't work for me. I deleted all the commands and the team channel. After installing all of them again, I still don't see the channel icons at the left.

We really need the team channel back. Any further ideas? I bet I'm doing something wrong but I can't figure out what it is by myself...

If you have added no commands and it won't refresh which it's using AJAX something else is up. Can you pm me a test account? Or run FireFox console and post the errors you get.

Do the first thing most would do. COMPLETELY uninstall the product. I'm also talking going into ftp, removing ALL files uploaded. Make sure there are no templates for the chat anywhere. Then reinstall newest without any commands and see how it does. Also read the current bugs at the first post. I remember there is a team issue. ;)

fariborz 06-21-2008 09:30 PM

This product has many problems, I uninstall this product.
Thanks ;)

DarkGizmo 06-21-2008 10:06 PM

Does this add to a user's post count/the total board's post count when a user makes a shout? If not, can this be added as a feature please? :)

Queball_Beast 06-21-2008 10:10 PM

I have read the instructions in the command folder over and over, I have removed the chatbox and all files with it along with all command and channels files, then I re-installed as new however like before the del command is not working for me.

I can delete individual chats but I cannot clear the entire chatbox with the del/all command like before.
Does the del/all command still works with 0.4.0 or has it been removed? there are no list commands to use I only found out about the del/all command because VBdev told me.

Thanks Again

No, this product does not as it's a shot, not an actual post and kept in a seperate location in the db. That will be up to VBdev if he sees it as something worth coding. I know I'd not enable that simple because it takes away from posting to begin with.

Add a navbar link to full screen and link it to the php file.

The text will wrap if there are spaces in it. However if a user posts something like :
Quote:

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllsdfffffffffffffff ffffffffffffffffffoiuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuize rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Then it wouldn't wrap.

For images, there is no specific management of the img bbcode in the chatbox, it relies on the vB one.

I won't make something separate so unless you install something on your vBulletin to do so you won't have it in the chatbox.

My advice is the same as yours Ranger187, I won't do that coz this is a chatbox not a full forum software ;)
