Notifications yes. search functionality. i'm not sure about yet. it's too early to tell. though if you're more specific as to what you're hoping for it helps.

Hello, I wasnt here since ages, (i downloaded it at some point when it was still in the rc phases and I am too stupid to use rc's), anyways at that time you said that it is not compatible with a couple of other mods/hacks, do you know the major ones with whom your mod is not compatible with??

If i remember right it was zoints seo, is it still the case?

As far as i know, yes it is. whether or not the Zoints people have updated it i don't know. it's also incompatible with vBSEO as far as i know. That said i do recall some users saying their was a fix posted on the vBSEO site.

cheers thats great

LightScribe 06-10-2007 08:34 AM

I have just installed this hack, but for some reason I cannot seem to create any threads in any groups. Do you know what may cause this and how to fix it. FYI I am using 3.6.7 PL1

dizzy100 06-10-2007 04:20 PM

same goes for me.

Group creation works but even the group owner can't create threads.

dpatel304 06-10-2007 05:37 PM

My groups mod works great. The only problem is, my url is not http://www.myurl.com/groups, it is http://www.myurl.com/forums/groups. I managed to manually change the URLs everywhere, so it works just fine, the only problem I have is when users invite each other to groups. The invite shows a link to join and view the groups, but I need to adjust it so that it reflects the correct url for my site. I don't know where I would go about editing this, but anyhelp would be appreciated.

However i bet you still have bad news for me that your [img] problem still exists?

Yes, the IMG problem is still there. :)

Do I have to re-import the product (xml) as well during this upgrade? I currently have v2.0.10 installed.

this may seem a silly question so don't shoot me, but i have to ask. you have set the usergroup permissions right?

in invitation.php find
PHP Code:

    $message construct_phrase($vbphrase['grps_x_feels_you_may_be_interested_in_joining_a_group'], $vbulletin->userinfo['username'], $vbulletin->options['hometitle']) . " [url=" $vbulletin->options['homeurl'] . "/groups/groups.php?" $vbulletin->session->vars['sessionurl'] . "g=" $groupid "]" $grps_showgroup['title'] . "[/url]: " $grps_showgroup['description'];

and replace with
PHP Code:

    $message construct_phrase($vbphrase['grps_x_feels_you_may_be_interested_in_joining_a_group'], $vbulletin->userinfo['username'], $vbulletin->options['hometitle']) . " [url=" $vbulletin->options['bburl'] . "/groups/groups.php?" $vbulletin->session->vars['sessionurl'] . "g=" $groupid "]" $grps_showgroup['title'] . "[/url]: " $grps_showgroup['description'];

no permission error, even for the group creator, and all permissions are set to allow posting in the usergroups.

Jay-MOB 06-12-2007 11:43 AM

hey the hack is great, does it by any chance show the groups you are in , in the user profile???

great work sabret00the

I unfortunately have the same error. When attempting to make a new thread it just throws a permission error. I double checked my usergroup permissions and tried changing the option of only group leader making threads and it didn't seem to help.

Everything else went great though. I was never able to get the older version to work, but this one installed just fine.

I'd be happy to make you a name with appropriate privileges to help diagnose the problem.

dizzy100 06-16-2007 08:44 AM

Doesn't seem to be a great deal of support for this mod :(

I responded to that error 4 days ago and nothing.

Hoping for a fix soon so i can test it properly,

PamelaE 06-16-2007 03:42 PM

I love this but I wanted to ask some community questions before I install.

Does the ability for members to create their own groups take away from the discussion on the main forums ? I just wanted to know how this has impacted the community and how they engage

Can groups be restricted, so members have to be invited only rather than an open group anyone can join ?

Fearlessninja 06-17-2007 10:27 PM

My members are experiencing the permission bug as well even when they are members of the group. This upgrade is a downgrade =/

This comes up when I open a thread in groups.. Yes, config.php does exist in the includes directory.

TeknoSounds 06-21-2007 08:46 PM

Installed...but some reason having issues with the group edit in the adminCP isn't showing any groups. Anytime a ID is entered it can't find the group. Not getting any errors currently. Think I must be missing something pretty glaring...

Fearlessninja 06-22-2007 01:20 AM

Now I want to downgrade to the previous version...anyone have a zip?

forumrating 06-22-2007 08:42 AM

im gonna try this looks real good.

soletrader 06-24-2007 05:27 PM

Is it possible to get an older version of this hack?

soletrader 06-24-2007 05:45 PM

I get the following error. any help would be appreciated.

soletrader: have you run the grps_installer.php? that should create the missing column.

Fearlessninja 06-26-2007 05:32 PM

Someone fix the permission bugs please.

sabret00the 06-26-2007 05:42 PM

Sorry folks, been away. (well that and the fact that i only just got the nudge thanks to the inadequate subscription system). i'll work on the permissions bugs today, you should get an update tonight.

Great mod. Quick question, is there any way to move groups from one category to another? I couldn't seem to find that option. Thanks.

Yup, just use the group editor. change the group category id to the one you desire.

i think you would just type into your browser

www.yoururl.com/groups/tools/grps_installer.php

you need to pull up the exact path to the file in your browser, then it will run
