Been there, done that. I think folks are looking for more than stuff that is posted there. I will do up a few links with stuff Ive gotten from various IBPro sites I guess. Usually about 50% of those will work for v3.

Never said I was perfect. ;) I do it in my part time when I have a chance. Better than nothing and it is the only place right now that I know of for native v3 games.

In any case, if people want more than what is there now, then all that is needed is an e-mail asking for a game at the site. If I have it, it will go up. Only 4 people have requested a total of 7 games.

hey when I try to install this how do I edit the permissions?

Go to usergroups and from there choose which group gets what.

I have a problem on my arcade, everytime you go to send a score it redirects you to my forum.

Actually, you need WEBMASTER@yourdomain and it cannot be a publicly obtainable e-mail account. Sorry you feel that way, Loco, but that was put in place due to events that led to my having to take it down last time.

al7forums, your FTP client should be able to do the permissions changes. How you do it depends on the package you use. You should be able to right-click on what you want to change and select Change Permissions, Permissions, CHMOD, or something similar. If not, you will need to go over your help file or let us know here what you are using to help.

Is there an option or way we can get games to open in a new window. Just the game not all the surrounding stats.

It is so frustrating not being able to fix this Challenge feature and I'm sure its probably an easy fix.

I've run out of ideas.

I've enabled Challenge options anywhere and everywhere that I've seen them including in the Game Options and users have enabled the Challenge options but dont see any bar anywhere.

Could it be that I"m running vBulletin v3.5.1?

Analog, I think the answer was posted on the v3 site if none of this is working. Unfortunately, he is currently offline until the new version comes out. I do not believe your version of vB matters on this as long as it is v3.5.x/

I've got the same setup and Arcade is working fine a.f.a.i.k. But i received the same message from my users and tried to duplicate it and it actually happened to me. It doesn't matter what score you've got but when Arcade tries to add the score to the list it shows a "no permission page". That goes for me (administrator) and my users.

I also know it's a random error since it doesn't happen all the time. And it also happens with all games so i doubt that's the problem either.

I hope someone can tell me what might be wrong and how i can fix it. :)

That is one of the frustrating parts about it.

VodkaFish, I seem to remember something to do with the users not checking the "Remember Me" box. If they are not doing that, tell them to give it a shot.

Oh yah, thats why I created that damn account, (that just screams SPAM ME! - and the spam does come in).

If you want to make a large rar or zip file of the games, I can host them for a while on one of my sites so you don't chew up your bandwidth.


And to rjordan, it wasn't meant as an attack on you or your site, I just didn't care for it much, it had most of the games I already had, and its a bit harder on navagation. Opening it up some, adding some ads on the site (adsense or adbrite or such (or even selling ads directly to other vb forums/sites)) to generate some revenue to pay for it would get more folks going there. I understand about bandwidth limits and such, but I would think that opening it up some more, would allow for more users, more traffic, and more folks noticing the site.


To Reece^B, do you get that for every game you have, or just certain ones? I would get that on some IBPro games I had installed, that didn't work right.

It would require a plug-in or other modification, but is possible. I do not think anyone has made this, however.

Never took your post as an attack. We are good. I am opening it up more and more. I will be doubling the bandwidth limit again soon (just did it recently). As far as revenue, I was cautioned against that for the time being by my attorneys. Donations is as far as he has deemed as safe, again due to the last time I had to take the site down.

Anyway, all good.

Well that sucks in that respect. Maybe look at some shared hosts and see about a hosting deal (banner ads for free/sponsered/cheap hosting). Might work out. Not sure how much bandwidth you actually push out. If it were open to all, I'd say unmetered dedicated server. But the way it is now, you can't be doing that much bandwidth.

You could try re-importing your product XML file overwriting the old one. See if that helps.

Ok after days of looking around I finally found where I can challenge a person but it was in a place I wouldnt have thought unless I tried everything.

So.....If a person is a champion in a game a gold cup appears next to their name. So first you have to find a person who is a champion and than find a one of their posts in the forum, than you click on the golden cup and than the option of the challenge appears.

Personaly I would have liked to be able to challenge the person right from within the Arcade Room.

So is this the only way you can challenge a person? Like I said after days of searching that is the only place I could find the challenge option.

if people have got challenge turned on in there usercp settings, you just click on there name in a post and on the menu that drops down you be able to challenge them.

They don't have to be a champion. If it's set up properly, you can challenge anyone (so long as they have turned on challenges in their UserCP.) Click their name, the challenge option is in the menu.

Works that way on my forum at least...

Sounds like maybe a file is corrupted or not uploaded properly? I'd try re-uploading all the files again, then try to install it again.

My members complianed about auto log off while they ware playing games. Is there any way to keep them logging in all time while they're playing games ??

Same thing fixed one of my main problems.

Not sure on the postbit / postbit_legacy, but I think (could be wrong, if I am, no flaming please, hehe) I think the legacy is the older style of postbit (maybe the horizontal way) and the postbit is the newer one (vertical or where the stuff is to the left). Im prolly wrong, but thats my take on it. I usually just edit both of them, so in case I'm wrong, I got it covered. :banana:

there is a bug, my members can hack it, they can play it in short time but their score is very high. It likes they're using some kind of speed hack to play...

Chances are, they used some kind of memory editing. There is no bullet-proof solution to it..

I have a gamer who is beating everyones high scores with insane numbers, e.g. Tetris around 100K, Breakout around 200K, and Pacman he made exactly 60K. Some users think he is cheating, he claims he is just very good at it.

I have installed the one hack that disables some of the right-click features of flash games, but I guess there is nothing else I can do and there is no way to know whether the user is cheating or not, correct?

I am using v3Arcade in combination with vbPlaza and members earn points for a new high score, which they can convert into services that have a real cost to me, so it is important for me that users cannot cheat in the Arcade. Any general suggestions?

I've actually modded my arcade installation so that it displays a joystick in the same spot where champions have their gold cup displayed for non-champion users for this very reason (I found the challenge feature difficult to find). It's simple to do:
