Hi,

I have downloaded the plugin and I have it working on my localserver. But I have a question. When the post is posted onto the forum of your choice, how would one then edit the copy and then include a back link, can this process be automated as per the link below?

http://www.jeffsrecipes.com/forum/sh...?p=956#post956

IF so can anyone tell me how this is done or do you have to edit the extract and add the link manually?

I understand the desire for this feature, as I am using it on a site. I have not put it into the plugin as of yet. I have been pretty busy with custom mods lately but when I get some free time, I will probably make this a feature.

Hi again. I had this mod installed working great, and then today I went to try to add the comments feature.

I come back to check my login and it seems vbridge is no longer activated, I try to activate and everytime it says "plugin activated" when I click to activate it but it NEVER gets activated. I tried deleting and re-uploading the file with no luck...

For now I've removed the edited files and nothing's change.

Any input?

Okay wow have I've done some edits.

The file *I* downloaded had the file name as vbbridge.php (2 b's). I looked IN the file and everything was called to 'vbridge.php (one b).

I also noticed the prefixes were vbb_ ... so i edited all of them in the file to vb_ and it actually stayed installed this time.

Now, the issue is that language issue you talked about with funny characters. I checked my forum and it shows the lang. as default: ISO-8859-1 . So, I tried setting wordpress to that and it seems to work but none of the posts in the forum that were made from the wpadmin are correct.

for those having the admin CP Login issue
  • Goto your phpMyAdmin. and lookin in your vB databse for wp_options and click the browse button.
  • go through your options till you see vbb_VBION. check the box beside it and click Edit.
  • when you get to the edit screen look for option_value and set to "0" This will cut off the intergration to the wordpress and make it where you can login as admin again.
  • Once you get logged back in deactivate the plugin and remove teh file from your admin CP till its eather fixed or another one is made. this will keep the admins you give future access to via the user setting no access to enable the hack and mess up the site.

Im not saying this is a bad hack but this issue of not being able to login needs to be addressed. I have noticed the coder hasn't found this issue yet and I guess those that report it aren't installing the mod right. its not hard to set up a plugin and set up paths.
please fix this thanks

+1 Jafo I will storngly recommend you change the titel and remove word COMPLETE.

This is very bugy and UNcomplete integration of wordpress.

I am sorry you are having trouble with the plugin, but the text you quoted is not speaking about a bug. Of course when you logout of Vbulletin you lose access to the admin. You are logged out. When you log back in, you get access. This is stated in the documentation, I am sorry that my only "bug" was not making it clear enough for you.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have upgraded to a new version (2.06). I have tested it on three environments. Before you upgrade, PLEASE backup your current copy of vbbridge.php.

Upgrading is easy, just replace the vbbridge.php file with the new one. Here are some of the fixes and new features:

07/17/2007
  • Fixed problem where upload iframe was a bit mangled.
  • Fixed problem where users had to refresh the dashboard once after logging in.
  • Fixed problem that arose from Wordpress 2.2.1 upgrade that would not allow activation.
  • Fixed logout issue where users would still be logged into Wordpress.
  • When a Wordpress post is deleted, so is the thread it created.
  • Added option to allow thread posted from Wordpress article to be truncated, with a linkback to the article.
  • Fixed issue when user re-activates plugin, and vb_threadid column already exists. Now checks for column first.
  • Removed a stray VB_Init() call.
  • Forums that do not allow threads will not be selectable in the drop down menu when writing a post.
  • Forums are listed out in a parent/child nested pattern.
  • (Note: 367 downloads of version 2.05)
I will be sending out an update notice to all that marked the plugin as installed.

The text I quoted and many other speak about trouble with login logout as via wordpress itself, that I also have had - No way to access wp-admin panel.

Ok, we've spent some time trying to integrate this hack with Wordpress. I have the very latest version of vbulletin v3.6.7.

Here is a brief summary of the issues which we have encountered:
  • It did not update VB in all instances when you made a change to the original entry.
  • It was unsuccessful in getting any registered user, other than admin, login so that they could submit entries on Wordpress.
  • Having installed the Vbulletin commenting system it did not work.

Admin was able to post to selected vbulletin forums though....

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has resolved the above issues and specifically could you tell us how you managed to do just that...
