I would like to point out once again what a complete bunch of ++++ups there are at IB. It took us all months to figure out exactly how the stylevar system works, and then with 4.0.8 they royally ++++ it all up again. The member profile page in particular is a beautiful work of utter catastrophe; even going so far to create "stylevars" that aren't stylevars at all and can't be edited.

Hi Jaxel,

First off I have to say that everything you make is like magic! I have enjoyed your mods since 2008. Thanks man!

Ok the problem I'm having is Megavideo thumbs. I tried a few suggestions I saw with your conversation with Veer but no luck. Also I just upgraded to 4.0.8 but I don't think that had any impact. Went as far as clearing out all of the thumbnail folder and re-doing it but still no luck. Megavideo is just being difficult.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Hosters can now properly embed non-flash based embed codes: like silverlight or NicoVideo.
- You MUST run the "Click here to restore all services in the "/media/xml" directory to their default settings" process.
CHANGE: Changed the template for live streams with chat rooms; info panes removed.
CHANGE: The administration links have been rolled up into a single dropdown menu.
BUG FIX: Fixed template issues with user profile pages and VB4.0.8.
BUG FIX: Fixed an issue where certain hosters weren't retrieving thumbnails.
BUG FIX: Fixed an issue with meta tag matching for various different websites.

Yeah, I do agree with you. And see there are visible improvements now, 4.0.8 is much better and a bit stable release than all previous builds. I hope next few releases of 4.0.x and 4.1.x will make vb4 actually Gold :p

Just uploaded the new version 1.7 and it looks great. I should have mentioned earlier that the thumbs were from existing videos and not new ones. If I import a new one from megavideo the thumb works fine but if they are already in the database they show as a black square. I did the reset of services to default as well before doing a thumb rebuild. Any ideas? I just upgraded last week from 3.8 to 4.0.8 and things have been real pain so far.

I wouldn't say that IB have royaly ++++++ it up at all, For me vB is just getting better with each new release, I cannot see anything on the market that I'd change over too, the new stylevars are a step in the right direction as they will be the same (maybe altered / ammended slightly) for vb4.0.9 and vb 4.1 and you gotta start somewhere, better now than when 4.1 is out as it gives time to sort out styles.. :D

Well, It was working fine with 1.6, but 1.7 gives me this DB error when I updated services.
Having looked at the DB there is no "svcType" column, how can I add this??

I got something similar but I un-installed and tried a re-install. When I saw I didn't have any data I did a restore of the database and upgraded. I am rebuilding thumbnails now but I can see that the megavideo ones are still black squares and also all the videos are not visible in exploer 7 and 8.

Not sure about that "svcType" thing but you could try re-uploading re-installing it. That cleared up a different issue for me when I got an error for the services.

Okay... the svcType error has been fixed. It was a problem only for NEW installs; upgraders would not see the error. SvcType has been depricated; but I forgot to remove the references to it in the initial install.

The only way to see the error as an upgrader would be if you forgot to upload all the new files. The issues with videos not displaying in IE should now be fixed as well...

Hi Jaxel, I have not upgraded to 4.0.8 because it really is a ++++ed up piece of shit.

Anyway i'm still on 4.0.7, is the upgrade only for vB4.0.8 or can it be applied to 4.0.7 too? I'm particularly motivated to upgrade since all the admin setting are now under one drop down as they should be. And if i can upgrade, it's just a matter of overwriting the old files with the new ones?

Member profile pages?? In what was does the Media Library plugin modify/add to the member profile pages cause I'm the ONLY person with permissions to upload media on my site, and even then I don't have a single alteration/addition to my profile.

Please go into more detail, thanks :)

PS. And if i do upgrade, it's just a matter of overwriting the old files with the new ones?

Thanks for the update Jaxel. I did a total re-install by version and it seem to have repaired a lot. I still have the issue with the black thumbnails for existing megavideo entries but I'll keep checking to see if there are further updates.

Had this exact issue and I though it was with the old video directory version. It's the media directory he needs to upload again and re-install.

This is sort of a feature request, but.. How about a little section under the video and video information that shows thumbnails and titles for let's say.. "Suggestions/Media you may like" or even "Other media under 'Category name'"

I know I'd use and love a feature like this~
