can anyone else please let me know if they are experiencing the same problem described in my last post? Does your 'Who's Online' display show the same error-messages for search-bots?

Some of my forum members experience this error when trying to download:

They are all in the same usergroup but it only effects a few users. The one's affected have all met any post requirements like the others but still cannot access content.

Any ideas?

Two Questions:

1. Is there any Way to get Thumbnails of Links generated automatically? Any Option to integrate something like http://www.websnapr.com/?

2. Is there any new German Language update announced? Seems like it is updated ages ago. Most of the new functions of the last 1,5 years are incorrect, broken or generally not translated to german.

If there is nothing in progress i can and will help.

And on suggestion:

It was nice if we can choose at Install or by choosing Product if we only want a light Version without Downloads and Mediaplayers. ;)

Hi, I tried to upgrade vom 2.2.8 to 2.2.9, because our forum changed from 3.6.x to 3.7.4 and after installing the product.xlm, I got this message:

Somewhere i read about sites like websnapr, some were running with LDM, to create the thumbs i think you must add the size limit to the settings and also a thumbs folder in your server.

I add them manually, but once i tested this... several years ago ^^'

Dobule check your permission. I have used LDM for a few years without any problems.

I have allowed all the relevant permissions to guests, so I'm not sure what could be causing it.

Is there a way to show the full description of a uploaded File ? I installed this Mod today, so far works great. But a few things I miss.

When i upload a file and i enter the description of this File, lets just say a small manual (nothing endless) and then upload it, the Description only shows one line and then a few dots ...

When I hover above it the browser shows the word "MORE" and when I click it nothing really changes, except that below the Description it just says what Category the file is in.

But all that longer description i added, isn´t shown at all. Is this a bug on my end or is this something known that can be changed somehow ?

Thx Obmop, will try that. I tried DOWNLOADS II before but I discovered a big CPU problem on my Server when you start the download of a bigger File with that Mod. I installed Links & Downloads which has extensive configuration possiblities which is quite overwhelming but most of all Downloads work much better. It doesnt matter if I click a big File or a small file to download, with this Mod here it starts immediately as it should be. Something I miss though.

When someone uploads something, the ADD ENTRY form doesn´t show any way to add a picture which is normally in any Download Script. Sure, you can add one with putting a link to an image on a public imagehosting but thats not a good way. Is there no way to also upload a Image next to the actual File ?

Thats something i really miss. Btw, you got any ideas in which templates that what I asked about above could be ? I contacted the Mod Author a couple of days ago but didnt get any reply yet. Thats the second Download Mod where the Author is not replying on any question. Is that normal here ?

You can asign a thumbnail directly while uploading, I do that on my downloads to maintain control on my folder structure.

Yeah but when people do upload something, in my site?s case its ment to be Maps for certain games, then it is really necessary that a Image is also with the Upload. And when thats not possible that would be really bad. You can do that with the other Mod i mentioned but then you have other problems. Darn it, there is always something that misses. :(

So there is no way to upload an individual Image with the upload form ?

Had this installed a while now, but a question came up : can batch uploads be done? I did search the wiki as well.

Hmm... never tried it, but ifyou configure your uploads folder you might be able to do so, don't forget to configure correctly your filetypes in vB

There is a little bug in the module ldm_new.php, ldm_hot.php and ldm_random.php with the color of the entree. The color don't change when the entre change.

Unistall does NOT remove everything!

You need to use the kill_local_links .php in the zip giving that's what will kill the tables....the product remover will only remove the templates.

Hi everybody

I installed that mod on a 3.7.0 vb version without problem. I can activate the plugin and then have the link in the navbar. The problem is that I keep on having a message saying I didn't have rights for admin or even go to the mod. What I don't understand is that I'm admin on my forum with all the rights. Where can I search?

Restrict categories

I have a doubt as to Links and Downloads Manager.

How do I restrict categories to Free Users?

There are 2 groups.

* Free
* Payment

I want the free download only the files that I allowed

and I want the members who pay download everything.

You have to do the restrictions on each category.

Go to category list, click edit, select "User Group permission" and modified as you want.

When do you get that error? when you tried to access the the administration section? have you tried to access the administration section with another computer?

I've got the error in the admin panel and when I want to go to the module via the navbar also. I'll try from another computer but I've tried from different browsers.
