This doesn't work in 3.8.3. If I leave thanks it records it as two people. When I remove my thanks, the 'thanks grid' along the postbit is stilll there and the 'mystery thanker's' thanks is still recorded (somewhere).

I can't even uninstall it

I'm using 3.8.3. Everytime I 'thank', it thanks 3 times. How to fix that?

After updating to vBulletin 3.8.3 the hack doesn't work anymore. I made the template changes again but there is no button for say thanks.

Any ideas?

I think it's safe to say this hack is broken in 3.8.

When I began to import the product, it was taking a looooong time so i stopped the script through the browser (or, at least, i thought that i was stopping it).

The POST table stopped working (didn?t accept new posts, perhaps it was locked??) and server load INCREASED A LOT, it was TERRIBLY HIGH. I closed the forums.

The POST table was repaired through SSH several hours after the disaster. :)

Incredibly, when the forum was again up and running, i realized that the installation of the hack had been succesful! :D

It is working now. I have just upgraded to 3.8.3 from 3.8.2 and it is running fine.

Thanks for the mod, It's running perfectly..

But i have the same problem, when one user thanks to other the page needed to be refresh, somebody know how solved it?

I have installed this hack on vb3.7.0

Although I followed the steps acurately and copied the thank image in every button folder of my styles. it is not appearing. How to make it work please?

3.8.3 and works fine, had to tinker w/ a it a bit and redo the button pluse centered the template hook within my code so it all lined up but overall rather nice hack! Going to see about replacing the links in postbit w/ images too :D

Some users on my forum keep getting this message when browsing..

Any idea as to what it is? and how to fix it?

Linfield,

I would reinstall it - copy over the files and reinstall the xml with overwrite.

If that does not cure it then it might be conflicting with other hacks/addons you have running so disable one at a time until you work out which is causing the problem!

It's working just fine for me with 3.83 (on two separate installations). If it's working for you, I don't see any reason to disable it.

I can't tell you why it's not working for some people, although I suspect some sort of conflict with another add-on and/or a custom style.

Abe, i have a small problem, i have both members and guest posters, if a member tries to thank a guest poster they get this error

if sql query is run for update post counters will we loose the thanked post count ??
we use thank count to b added to post count as the option was available

I don't knlow what "[hide]" is.

Try searching for "secjurity token" here and at vbulletin.com. I recall that this was added to vB a while back and that several add-ons were affected by the change. There was a fix posted somewhere... just can't recall where now.

I got a small problem. I downloaded a template of my other forum and placed it on my new forum. But now i got in "Statistics" 2 Thank and 2 Groan blocks.

How do i delete them? I dont know in which file i cant find that so i can change it so i only got one.

On our test site we upgraded vBulletin from 3.7.4 to 3.8.3.
Post Groan Hack plugin : 4.1
Post Thank You Hack : 7.7
When we enable above plugins then showthread page display blank page.After disable this plugin it works fine.
Can any one explain this plugins are compatible with latest version of vBulletin 3.8.3.? or how can figure out.

Tulsa in my mobile themes that are based for iphones or blackberrys i just added
$template_hook[postbit_controls]

Sadly this causes mobile pages to reload when thanks are given i have not figured out a way to correct that i hope someone post with a better way to do it but if not at least you know of one way that works.

Also if you use hacks like the panic button or simular you will need to go into the template for that hack and remove everything. so that they will not show up in your mobile theme

To remove the amount of times you have thanked someone and to keep the amount of thanks recieved, edit the following template and replace with;
