Ok, this looks like an awesome product, but I can't get it (version 1.5) to work completely as advertised. I am running vbulletin 3.6.8, have php 5 on my server. I can get links to Flash sites like YouTube to put up a thumbnail and play the video. However, GB does not parse video attachments uploaded to my server (just get a link to download the file as with other attachments). I have added typical media filetypes to the Attachments allowed. So, I'm wondering what I haven't done that I should?

site is www.camcorderuser.net

Someone tell me please if BLIP.tv is working or how can i make it work.

Thank You

Ali's 04-10-2008 01:05 PM

u said that we dont need to use bbcode but actually I had to !!

coz when I just put the youtube , goldbrik didnt work !

I needed to put the media bbcode !

JayT123 04-10-2008 05:04 PM

This doesn't seem to support m4a which is what itunes is saving their songs as.

VBSEO users need to exclude:

class_goldbrick.php
highslide.js
swfobject.js
functions_public.php
functions_goldbrick.php
goldbrick_post.php

nix: I think the quick edit problem really needs to be fixed.

Question for anyone that might know. When I first installed this Mod IE users had to double and sometimes triple click on the play button of videos to get it to begin. I found a post either in this thread or 3.7 that mentioned a fix and it had to do with omitting a "/". I had to re-tweak some settings and removed and reinstalled GB. Well, this apparently undid what I did. So now IE users have to click play multiple times to start the video. FF users are fine of course. Any ideas?

rooney72 04-11-2008 01:19 PM

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /homepages/7/***********/htdocs/br-eeze/goldbrick/plugins/bbcode_create.php on line 53

I'm getting this and I am using 3.6.9

MissKalunji 04-11-2008 01:33 PM

if you don't have PHP 5 then it won't work...

When I find it, I certainly will. I should have copied it to txt file like I normally do when I find a fix I need to remember.

Upgrade from 1.4 to 1.5 not so smooth.
Highslide scripts not loading, looks like the Highslide paths are messed up or something(not sure)

The MOVIE MEDIA option works though, its the image viewer attachments and inline that fails to load. The inline option displays boxes with the words |Highslide JS| in them and the link statusbar displays the following

javascript:hs.expanders[11].cancelLoading()

Chadi 04-24-2008 11:32 PM

Suddenly this is not working for me.

Example Post (See attached also of how it shows up)

Code:

[media]http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=240ad5b9b413aa7346a1[/media]
Acts 16:31
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house.

Billy Graham

YouTube - 1957 New York City Billy Graham Crusade - Sermon

The GB option *does* show up in the new thread area below the editor otherwise. I even re-uploaded the plugin (overwriting), but that did not fix it. Permissions are turned on for the usergroups also.

GB is enabled in VB options and so are all the extensions.

Jemradary 04-27-2008 02:26 PM

I using VB version 3.6.10

I setup the mod as mentioned in the instructions. But when I enable the plug in for product-goldbrick.xml I get the following error when viewing a page that has the media on it. I am trying to play a .wmv file that is on my server.

Code:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/*******public_html/multifam/client/goldbrick/plugins/bbcode_create.php on line 53

What should I do?

nix 04-29-2008 04:39 AM

Look at the Goldbrick Requirements. They're sort of required.

bostton1 04-29-2008 05:24 AM

hye nix is the update going to include [IMG] tags to goldbrick? when is the update going to be released?

FatalBreeze 04-30-2008 12:33 PM

Great Hack, but it doesn't work really well.
I uploaded all the files, did everything i had to, but i don't even see the M button.
I can only play youtube movies, which i don't want to because i wanted this hack to show mms://.....wmv files.
As in streaming video.
Can you hack do it?

nix 05-01-2008 12:10 AM

There is no M button. This isn't anymedia.

Yes it can play wmv files.

ninjashoes 05-02-2008 07:52 AM

I just installed this, its a great alternative to having html turned on. It can get really annoying once people start posting all kinds of random code allover the place.

Chadi 05-04-2008 04:39 PM

Hello, thank you very much for this!!! Im going to do a custom box where i display latest videos that users have contributed. Now what is the <IF> statement if i want to show the last 5 videos in the main page? Could someone help me out, this would be AWESOM! If i get this to work and someone know the if statement, i will pay 40$ to that person through paypal! Also i use version 3.6.8 =)

Thank You!

nix 05-17-2008 05:25 PM

The media info is stored in the database.

skariko 05-22-2008 09:26 PM

Hi Nix,
is possible to add the feature of Anymedia on the Social Groups?

Ill try and see if I can figure out how to make a temporary fix myself but it would be really great if this would work out of the box . :)

Edit: I fixed this for now by doing a
Code:

TRUNCATE TABLE postparsed
and then letting vB rebuild the posts the first time someone views them. Not a good fix as its takes a bit longer to load threads the first time someone views them but at least it works.

Should also mention this fixes any problems that come with the tags being broken after installing. Although a probably bad idea for any busy forums.

MasterShake 06-05-2008 03:32 AM

I followed all of the instructions now whenever I got to view a thread or open a new thread I get this

Code:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /nfs/c01/h04/mnt/43707/domains/empiresupportersclub.com/html/Forum/goldbrick/plugins/bbcode_create.php on line 53

i cant open new thread
why?

nix 06-07-2008 06:30 PM

php 5 only.

thecricketzone 07-14-2008 09:09 PM

Ive just installed VBAdvacned to my site...I already had this great media player installed. Where exactly is the VBAdvacned plugin module for this product? I cant see it in this thread anywhere or in the download file?!

phpnewbie 07-16-2008 05:32 AM

is this upgrade from Crist Chsu's addon ?

vicmx 07-26-2008 11:21 PM

Oh sorry I reply to another answer sorry, you right...
Why when i run counter (Post cache) the tags [media] no parsing the video?

sorry muy bad english

jdelasko 08-21-2008 05:17 AM

I've seen this question asked several times, but I have not seen it answered yet.

I just installed Goldbrick 1.5 into vbulletin 3.6.4 and I'm also running vbadvanced. The previous version of anymedia I had installed was working fine for a long time, then it suddenly stopped working... the media tags were no longer recognized. I have no idea what may have caused this.

Rather than try to troubleshoot the older version, I deleted the files and uninstalled the product. I uploaded the goldbrick files and imported the product. All options and forum permissions are properly set.

The old media tags were now picked up, but I did have to edit and save the posts for that to be so.

Trouble is, it just doesn't work. I've attached a screenshot of a youtube video in a thread. The preview image is displayed but the image and all the text near it, just links to the youtube url for that video. I also see a "You need to upgrade your flash player message", and that's the question I've seen asked, but not answered. To the best of my knowledge, I have the lastest players installed on my computer.

Any ideas? I am at my wit's end trying to figure this out. My server is runningf PHP 5.2.5 and MySQL 5.0.51a

Here's a link to the page from which the screenshot was taken: http://www.majorleaguetalk.com/forum...ad.php?t=54332

the header isn't being included in your skin. You'll have to add it manually.

I don't undersatnd why. I use the default vbulletin skin.... the colors are different, but it's still just the default skin.
