Fresh install, everything looks ok, but I'm getting this error when I try to update the "default user settings":

I've run into a strange error and I don't know quite what to make of it.

I've added a couple of games via the admincp/games folder and everything acted as normal. But the photos and game itself did not show up. The .php file did with all the info for the game listing.

Anyone experience this problem before? Any suggested solutions?

EDIT: I notice the files remain in the folder as well which isn't normal.

Try re-uploading all of your files in ASCII format. Other than that... I dunno...

waying the pros and cons of different arcade systems. I finally settled for v3 Arcade.

Now Installation went very smooth following the instructions.

The only thing that I'm having a problem with is the Challenge system. Where is it? how does one challenge another user?

I've made sure the feature is enabled but I cant see a button that says challenge a user or such.

I tried to do a search in these forums with no luck and I'm not sure if there is a way to search inside a thread instead of the entire forums.

So if the experts here dont mind. Could you please give me a check list of what I should do to make sure the challenge system is working?

have u enabled the challenge through UCP?

I am no "Expert" but I was in your shoes about a yr ago too

No matter what anyone says about V3 I personaly think its one of the best out there and the New version will def. be worth the wait.

As far as your question goes........You will want to have all your members that want to participate in challenges go into their User CP and set the option to accept challenges in the arcade.

When you go into your User CP you will see the Arcade options there....The setting that you set in your admin area will be automatic for any NEW members that sign up after the arcade install, but all previous members need to set the arcade options.

Once the options are changed you will see a bar below members post that says Challenge "USERSNAME" in Arcade.

I hope this helps and you might want to just add a post to make it easier...depends on how many current members you have.

How can I enable this for every user? Not just new users but existing users?

Was going to change some settings this morning, went to my Default User Settings, and got this. Offhand, anyone know what I messed up? :disappointed:

I'm not sure if the other two threads are looked after but. I installed both

v3arcade Game ImpEx System & v3arcade Manually Add Game via Admin CP

the ImpEx system works great except the Game Autor name does not show up above the instructions.

And the Manually Add Game Via Admin CP. Crippled my ability to Edit game options. So I've removed the Add Games Via Admin CP.

I wanted to import the games from the ibpro package into my v3 installation but I have no idea how to do it. I know where the .swf and images should go but thats about it.

Has anyone done this successfully?

There is a query you can run. I remember seeing it somewhere. If someone else cannot find it, I will try to recreate it. Then you need to change the default field value. It is something simple, though.

the original ibpro Package does not come with games in .tar format. the .swf and image files are all seperate.

Now by default the option to "Allow One Score Per User" is disabled and I was getting many, many, many pages of scores.

I enabled this feature and it is much better less pages to scroll through, but now I'm wondering do I need to trim my database somehow? Are all those multiple scores from the same person still there?

Not really sure about that, but I do know that you WILL NOT SEE your own bar when you look....so make sure another member changes theirs and see if that might be it......other than that I am sort of a newbie myself.....so not much help :surprised:

Ok I asked my members to go into their USER CP and enable Challenges, we still dont see any buttons/options to pick for challenges.

Its one of the reasons I chose v3 Arcade.

What else has to be done to get this challenge option working?

Each Game as the Enable Challenges Enabled.

Ok, an update on the challenge problem:

I'm having the same problem, the challenge bar is not appearing below users posts, but its appearing on the user profile link, on the post, when you click on the username, you'll see the games that user has won, and you can challenge him there! At least its working fine.

Any idea on how to make it appear on the bar below every post?

New question, I have 790 games, wich I added all at once and wasn't able to categorize them.
I would like to know if there's any way of arranging the games by category but not the usual way that would take me forever to complete.

users have to have the 'allow challenges' tickbox selected in UserCP, otherwise you can't challenge that user anywhere... the challenge user box is there only if they allow themselves to be challenged ;)



now, next problem... lol
One of my members is playing, and he is not getting his name in the highscores, it appears as
[blank]
[game name] Champion

and in the arcade home where it has latest winners, it says 'Unregistered is the new [game_name] champion'...

It the arcade for some reason is not seeing this user as an actual member of the forum... For now it's only happening for him...

Any suggestions?

Nanaca Crash has been converted and is available on the games site. I am refraining from posting any more games here due to recent requests from vB.org staff to remove games that have been posted. I am working on the other requests.

postbit_legacy is where all the user info is on the left side of the screen in tread view..old school

postbit is the when all of the users info runs along the top above their post and it is settable in acp>VBoptions>styleand launguge theres an option to switch. HTH

I've got Nanaca Crash working on mine (ibpro game import) of it. Most of my games are IBPro games that Ive imported. I need to get some packs of them together and rarred up, and put somewhere for download. I have around 60 odd games on my forums, plus around 700 games overall (not all work with v3 - and since Ive gotten most from other sites, I'm not fully sure on the legalities of them either).

My users have ticked the "allow challenges" but I dont see any boxes anywhere.

As for games, are we allowed to post links for downloads here, or not? I can link several IBPro sites that have games, which is where I get most of mine, but I am allowed to post said links here?

v3arcade games are being hosted at one location that is free of charge with no limit on how many you can download. I cannot speak for others. This site will eventually have ibPro games as well after all v3 games have been processed.
