I really like this. I will wait and see if in the future we can uplaod and host videos on our sites. As soon as that feature comes I am all over it. Right now, I seem to have a bunch of members who can't appreciate what I give them... they will just ask if they can upload and if not... they complain. Can't have that haha... I have a temper. I'll be watching this one... one of the best I've seen!

they still can upload from other sites with this mod.

Well, over the past few weeks, some things happened. The last two versions of his code has been IonCube encoded. Well, my site is running on one of the most popular hosting companies in the world, however, they don't allow Ioncube or Zend encoding on their normal levels of service. They only allow it on a dedicated server, which would raise my costs considerably. Also, the code is encrypted, so I can't make customizations to any of the screens or code. It is very disheartening.

Thanks for posting this information.

I was about to order the professional version this afternoon. But I won't buy an encoded version. Even vBSEO saw the light and realised encoding code caused more problems than it was worth for its customers and opened it up.

I'd certainly want to be able to customise vBTubePRO if I bought it. :)

Hello,

Zend is available on all servers (if it is not installed on a given server, let us know and we can install it.). IonCube can be installed in your account and called on script execution without issue.

Talk to Godaddy.com

I talked to their server support and the Office of the President. They said it would only be installed if I get a dedicated server. By the way, the author of this mod was very understanding. When I explained the situation and about how I couldn't afford to invest in a dedicated server, he offered me a refund. He's a very good guy.

I was just disappointed because I invested my time customizing some of his modules for my site. Now I am being forced to start from scratch. I love the mod, however, it will raise my costs to get a dedicated server. Also, the code is encrypted. How can you make changes to the code with your own customizations?

By the way, thanks to NightEyes for the kind post. :)

Could you just switch hosting? What about Liquid Web? I'm with them and very happy. Granted I have a dedicated server, now, but they're a VERY good company to communicate with. They're hosted solution might be right for you.

If vbTubePro is important to your site, it might be worth it to move to another hosted solution.

I just had vbTubePro installed on my site, and it's FAB...I bet your custom modules are fab-er!;)

Over the years, I've switched hosting companies a few times because of server limitations and something 'new' I wanted to offer my site visitors. Every time, it turned out to be a good move.

Over the years, I've switched hosting companies a few times because of server limitations and something 'new' I wanted to offer my site visitors. Every time, it turned out to be a good move.

Let me start with:

The programmer is a great guy. His customer service is fantastic. This mod is great. If you can support ioncube and zend, and if you don't need to make modifications, this mod is for you. It really is a great mod. If it was still open, I would love this mod more than anything.

However, the main issue is that vbtube worked fine for 3 months since I bought it, and I was promised 3 years of support. Why should I be forced to change hosting companies because they suddenly decided to change their selling strategy? It worked fine until the ioncube encoding. We work hard to adapt our site to the hosting company's server. Why should we be forced to put another 1-2 weeks worth of work changing servers? (We have a lot of customizations and links tied to it.)

Also, I can't use my customizations anymore. The main reason I purchased vbtube pro was because the code was open. I would have never made the purchase if it was Ioncube encoded because then I couldn't make the customizations I needed.

Thanks for the suggestions pcoskat. It's just that changing hosting companies isn't an option for me. I have nothing against the coder, this mod adds a lot to the vbulletin community. He's a good guy.

That's all I will say about it. :)

So I was just wondering...

I can't seem to get it to work. I uploaded everything and installed it, but when I visit the link, it says I don't have permission to view the page (as Admin), and neither can any members or mods.
