My web host is telling me ame.js makes my site take twice as long to load...any ideas why?

I see no reason whatsoever why it would have anything to do with server load. The JavaScript file is used solely for usergroup permissions.

I had a couple of people ask me about this. If you actually WANT to register on my forum to keep track of updates to AME or my other vBulletin project developments, then I'll go ahead and allow for that. Previously, I had all that stuff blocked from Registered Users because I didn't want my users seeing a bunch of posts that had nothing to do with them or the site subject. I'll allow that now, but you'll have to join a special User Group in your profile called CoG in the Machine if you want to see anything. Registration is still not required.

Keep in mind that this won't exempt you from my semi-annual pruning of old users with 0 post count, so if you expect to keep your account in tact, at least say hello in the Intro/Farewell section. In addition, don't start using the forums as a way to get me to look at your posts. I'll see your posts where I always do, in this thread. Thanks.

Can we please get the eBay definition working with the Rewrite eBay links hack by Dismounted. That or find a way to add the eBay affiliate number to the eBay definitions.

I just updated this mod and it completely trashed my affiliate links. I had to remove the eBay definitions and exclude AME from the forums I use to post my affiliate links.

Im sure many others would love this integration. And thanks for this mod Ive been using AME since it came out.

I didn't do a lot with the eBay definitions only because I wasn't quite catching on to what an affiliated link would look like. If you can send me about a dozen samples of what affiliate links look like, I might be able to work something out.

I will try to do a definitions set for AME 3, but I'm not sure it will be worth the effort, as currently AME 3 doesn't seem to be working with new definitions. My goal is to rewrite AME 3 at some point in the future. And by "rewrite", that means just do what The Geek did and pretend I did it, too. =/

It means you already have a YouTube definition that you need to get rid of, or untick the one you're trying to import for exclusion. Mine's more current, so you may want to backup the old one and delete it for the time being.

i did a quick search for amazon on vb 3.8 and came up with this,

i understand this mod is for videos but can i ask if it can be used to ammend amazon uk/usa links to be used with my affiliate codes, ie editing the links on the fly, ive tried the 2 old amazon link changer mods but neither work on vb3.8. Am i barking up the wrong tree ?

These definitions, when used with the AME mod itself, does indeed let you alter Amazon links to add your affiliate code, I used them like that for a while.

I know it works with Amazon USA, I'm not sure Amazon UK has a definition, but if it works like Amazon USA one could be made.

I am having issues trying to get the youtube videos to size correctly. I am replacing the "$ameinfo[height]" with the one I want because the default zone settings are not working either and yes I uploaded the delta definitions and never installed the 3rd times a charm. Can someone please help me with this. This is what I have tried so far.

It doesn't ever pull the title though with the youtu.be links but will if you post the full youtube.com url.:confused:

Do you know of a way to disable this plugin if using vBulletin Mobile Suite? You cannot edit the mobile suite style and I have tried inserting conditionals into the plugin with now luck.
