No I won't put anything for that in the acp.

However I could add an option which contain userid of users that can't be banned

Then it should work, have you tried downloading the zip file here again and following carefully all the steps ? I don't see why it wouldn't work for you and work for everyone else.

How do you measure the server load ?

Someone also reported me about a similar increase but I haven't change anything that would have done that.

Have you experienced such increase with the 1.4 version ?

baghdad4ever 09-25-2007 05:48 AM

no when i install 1.4 the load is 1 to 2

but with 1.5 the load reach up to 20

i can return to 1.4

but i cant ban arabic name with it :(:(:(:(

VBDev 09-25-2007 06:51 AM

You didn't answered to my question about the server load.

How do you measure it ?

And what does those loads number represent exactly ?

This is in the usergroup permissions, you must set "Can view who's online" to yes for the desired usergroups :)

This is a skin issue, there is a little howto for that in the chatbox readme, have a look at it :)

Could you give me the options you have activated for the chatbox ? Cuz some of them might use more cpu than others.

Hey VBDev

I seem to be having problems with the installation for the Shoutbox, I'm trying to install version v1.4 onto a VBulletin 3.6.8 and seem to be having a few issues with it.

Here's my post on another section of the forum for you to think about

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=158016

Any suggestions?

jrofosho 09-26-2007 02:51 PM

I have the refreshing problem still. It never stops refreashing. It works on a default style though.

EDIT: Fixed. Nice hack!

Hi Guys, Im still having issues with my chat being to wide. It does not fit properly on my forum home page. I am running legacy and have side bars on the left side. I believe if i turn of the side bars, everything fits on a page again without having to scroll all the way to the right to view all of the chat. Is there any way in the program to make the chat narrower? my home forum is www.socalireefs.com/forums you can not view the chat without registering. Any clue on how I can let guest view the chat also. Help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks -M

By looking at all your messages, I think you haven't imported both product through the vbulletin product manager of the acp. (the product from the p folder)

Hi,

Have you tried disabling some of the chatbox's bbcode and also the width of the chat input (both are in options) so that the chatbox get less wide ?

Thanks heaps man! I got it to work but I'm actually curious whenever I tried to type the command like /me for example it does not show the username as whatever /me command does but I do get an error message that pops up saying...

"Error: Command Syntax is incorrect"

Any suggestions to sort that out?

VBDev 09-27-2007 05:12 AM

Are you sure of the syntax for the /me command you have used ?

Check the help button in the chatbox it gives information on the different commands.

msvi007 09-27-2007 07:03 AM

Is anyone else having issues with the pm in the chatbox? It was working great in version 1.4, but now since upgrade I get a message "User does not exist" I also did a fresh install on another board and get the same error.

Please advise.

Becareful, the command syntax has changed and there was also a small error in the mgc_chatbox.js file which has been corrected since.

I do have the " can view who's online" in the general options and "can see who is online in the chatbox" in the chatbox options of the usergroups set to YES. where is this info supposed to be displayed?

VBDev 09-27-2007 01:49 PM

You have to click on the button on the left of the chatbox (the one with a plug).

frozen187 09-27-2007 07:05 PM

VBDev :D how is V2 going on??

frozen187 09-27-2007 07:46 PM

Thanks that works. I guess I misunderstand that part.

Thanks much!

andrewtr89 09-27-2007 09:26 PM

Man, I know no longer what to do.

I have this thing running at minimum capacity in terms of server load right now, and yet I get a CPU overload shut out page. Its not just this host. All to date have complained about how much CPU Resources take up due to the chatbox ajax.

Is this something that can be confidently used on medium sized forums? Then again, I wouldnt call my forum "medium" sized but it does have several thousand members, and at peak times can get 50-100 members and guests on at a time. Guests cant even view the shoutbox as it is so that wouldnt even matter... I'm beginning to feel that with a larger forum this chatbox may not be compatible.

Hmm... did the spanish phrases had a problem? I think they haven't been updated.

You know, I just figured it out... i'm supposed to see a color change in the date of each message done in the chatbox, but I can't see it, i have the css classes, but it's not working.

Any ideas? :p
thanks

redtaz 09-28-2007 02:19 AM

Hi there this is one of the best chat box mods out there so congrats on that! I really like this except for the fact that I cant figure out how to move it from where its placed. I currently have the Advanced Welcome Box mod on my forums and I would like for the chat box to appear below if does anyone know how I may achieve this? See the attached image for a visual of where I would like it to me.

Thank You,
REDTAZ

It seems that it depends of the server configuration coz user with big boards haven't experienced such problems while few of you have.

What refresh rate have you put for the chatbox ?

Have you activated team message warning system and inactive mode ?

No spanish phrases are up to date (unless I forgot to put the uptodate version :D).

Regarding the color, there is not change between two dates, it's the same color for all the date in the chatbox.

Did you put the css thing in the right place ?

To do so, you have to follow the howto at the end of the readme file (about style issue).

This is not really a style issue but as both modifications are using replacements to appear after the navbar, the first called will be the first under the navbar. And as you can't manage the order of the plugin calls you have no way of choosing which one will be the first.

So the only thing to is following the little howto to put it under the navbar in your forumhome template :)

AHA!, I hada similar color in my text, that's why i didn't see the color change. :D

Hmm... about the spanish phrases, I said so, because your first post says they need to be updated to 1.5
Thanks!

Can I just add my name to the others that have requested a sound alert when a new message is posted. This is a feature that several of my members have asked about (We had it in a previous 'chat' feature and they loved it)

Anyway, I'd love to see it implemented.

Repentless 09-28-2007 11:32 PM

Do NOT use this mod. Does not work at all, frequent problems, javascript is sloppily coded and will not render at all.

Tested on vB 3.6.8
