It is coded to post a new thread.

Most of the info you need is in the thread title. that is why it can not add a reply to a current thread.

I switched from the pm to the forum thread mode on this hack for the same reasons. It works great.

I have been using this hack with great success for a long time, but lately I am seeing false positives that it is not even funny anymore. Anyone else seeing this? I have users on different continents using differnet ISPs and that haver never ever met being reported as having multiple accounts with each other.

Sounds like you might have installed another hack that could be interfering with this. I would look in that direction and see if maybe that could be the problem.

Given how this works, I would say thats not possible.

More likely is that they are using proxy servers to access your forum, so appear to be miles apart when in reality they are not - thats something this is good at catching.

Like Paul said, not possible. There is no database back-end to this - it works totally off cookies which are machine specific (unless you use some kind of service where cookies may not be stored on the local machine).
