i'll try find the link, but I can't remember, lol... I tried to find it myself a few weeks ago to reinstall some of the games.

I just googled "v3 arcade" found a couple of forums that linked to games... Found one that asked for a $10 donation for about 500 games...

I guess it's just a game of chance ;)

sorry. I asked about the challenges without reading the intallation instructions because I thought I only needed to read the upgrade instructions. Now that I have read it, all is working fine and the challenges menu is now ok. Thanks a lot for the great hack. I do hope some one can make an Arabic translation not because I don't know English ( I am a teacher of English) but for lack of time. Thanks again John. God bless.

I had to move servers the other day..
Tried to reinstall this arcade and i get errors coming out me ears :(

ive uploaded the "files" to my forums directory and altered the templates etc ..but get this ............

when i upload the xml product

its the arcade 1[1].0.6 version

any ideas as it seems a great system , just would love it on our site.......

Looks like a great plugin. I have installed as per instructions but when I clik on arcage in navbar ie get the arcades loadding without the rest of the forums.

I upgraded my forum from 3.0.7 to 3.5.4 and I have the old Arcade still installed. Can I just overwrite it with this new version? Or uninstall it, and install from scratch. If I need to uninstall how would I go about doing that?

believe you may be having the same problem I had... If you`ve had v3arcade running before on a previous vb version you need to ensure all the templates are gone from your skin before installing... John hs put a tool to do this in the zip file if I remember rightly.

I've installed this and have also enabled challenge mode in user settings but don't see how to challenge anybody. Can somebody help!!!

When you say username in postbit, are you on about in the user profile ? Becasue if you are I dont see anything to do with the arcade or challenges in there!!!

Also, I will recommend giving some options directly on arcade to setup arcade challenges, lot of users join your site/forums only for games they never care for posting etc. ;)

It should be listed in the User CP on the left menu, you must have missed the template edit for USERCP_SHELL.

D'oh!!!!! silly me lol. I can now see the menu in the User CP and have also done the other template mods. But how do I challenge another member of my forum ? Thanks for your help Oblivion Knight

As I've said, a user must allow other users to challenge them in order for the option to appear.

If you'd rather have this as an opt-out option instead of opt-in, run these 2 queries:


Query to update current users to;
Allow Challenges, Use Private Messages and Someone has challenged you:

UPDATE user SET arcadeoptions = '41'
Query to auto-enable the same options for future registrations:

ALTER TABLE user CHANGE arcadeoptions arcadeoptions int(10) UNSIGNED NOT NULL DEFAULT '41'

Thats because this arcade system doesn't support 80% of the games that you will find. I have hundreds from my ibpro installation and I couldn't get a vast majority of them to work with this. I have uninstalled it since then an am sticking with ibpro.

Then you've encountered a weird bug.. :(

I can't really advise anything else, since I never use the challenge system personally, and even went to the lengths of removing it from the 3.0.x version of v3arcade.

Doesn't support 80%? That's a stretch. Maybe 10%, but when you've got 400+ games that work great, in a system that is much cleaner than ibpro, who cares? Maybe your ibpro collection wasn't formatted properly for v3Arcade importing.

I've had no such troubles getting together a great collection in v3.

Ok fellow gents and Ladies here is what I did to fix the uninstall prob *** Maybe this will help some of us and maybe not, but NE-ways here we go...<>

I really didnt want to reinstall alot of sh+t so I worked on my dbase 4 two dias and came up with...<>

ERROR MESSAGES
Invalid SQL:
ALTER TABLE usergroup DROP arcadepermissions;

MySQL Error : Can't DROP 'arcadepermissions'. Check that column/key exists
Error Number : 1091


This message is asking there isn't a (arcadepermissions) listed so can't delete until its listed in database.

Access database with phpadmin software and add this field to your (USERGROUP) area of database (add arcadepermissions). U will also have to add (arcadeoptions) to (USER) area of database and next add (isreverse) to your (arcade_games) area of database.

Fields are what make the option work right, all fields below should be added!
(arcadepermissions)
(arcadeoptions)
(isreverse)
Each of these fields must be added with INT is 10, unsigned, null is no, default is 0.

So add all of those and then goto Manage Products and Uninstall Arcade 1.0.6, after that U can reinstall and all should be O-ta.
