I was wondering if someone can help me. I have been using this hack for 2 years, I love it as well as my member. Ever since I updated to VB4 I have 2 issues, seems there is something wrong with my template and I cant figure it out, one issue is that the links inside the navbar are overlapping and its hard to see the "add entry link".

The other issue is that the username and logout links are out of sync on the page. I included a print screen so you have an idea of what I'm talking about.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Does anyone have this running on php5.3 or mysql 5.5?
I would like to know if I can safely upgrade to php5.3 or mysql 5.5.

Works Great on 4.1.3 No Problem

I just upgraded to vB4.1.3 - and have enough PTSD now to last me the rest of my life...

I've been using LDM for about two years, and like it a lot - and want to install it on my new vB installation so I can get on with other things - only thing is, with Andrew's passing, I'm wondering what the future is with this hack...

What is the consensus about where this hack is going? Do you think it will continue to be supported by someone else, or should I consider this the time to separate from it and find another way to deal with downloads, etc?

If anyone reading this could please chime in - I need to get my boards and downloads back up on line ASAP, as my users are getting grumpy....

Thanks,
Sean

Staff Note: Sadly, Andrew D, the developer of the Links and Downloads Manager has passed away after a long period of illness.
Andrew wasn't just one of the best coders I've seen here on Vborg, he was always there to help anyway, accepting suggestions, trickying out with other mods conflicts, always friendly, just like if we were paying here for that.
His work will be on my board as long as possible and it's the least I can do for his fantastic job and contribution to our community.

Andrew: We will never forget !

LDM works fine ATM and there is no other downloads addon that has such extensive functionality.

LDM for vb3 is marked as reusable code and Andrew repeatedly asked for Jelsoft to take on this project, so this clears the way for a new coder(s) to take on this project. The question is if anyone will take it on. Without a new developer(s), LDM will stop functioning sooner or later. But who knows how long that will take. Andrew was a very good coder and it still works 15 months after the last release.

This is quite a piece of programming, it is not an easy task to maintain, maybe some coders can group to continue it.

It was such an amazing mode to work with. :(

He was such a friendly person, always willing to lend a hand to fix any issue.
We miss Andrew.

I've thought about taking on LDM, but I am not sure yet.

I would only be allowed, technically, to start from the vB 3 version and do my own conversion to vB4 - that is a lot of work for this kind of mod. If I were to take it on, I would love to start with the vB 4 version, but with his unfortunate passing, I have no way to get proper permissions for it.

We'll see what happens.

I'm not clear on what you're saying - you cannot do a straight install of this version of LDM without going back to an earlier version??

I'm talking about taking over the mod on the developer side of things.
