No problems. Feel free to use & modify those sources as you wish, if you like to improve it. Or send me comments to PM, I'll forward to my programmer.

I've noticed, that AME 2.5 is coming, so posted XML without agressive testing, to keep better maintainability.

Hey DJ,

I'm having a problem with the EA Sportsworld definition. It's not working. EASW has been upgraded for 09. That may the problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Digital Jedi, do you think it's possible for youtube to use the "high quality" settings ? Even if the user doesn't use the right link, to be added automatically ? Or maybe optional ?

I understood the added code for high quality is the following one:
Code:

&ap=%2526fmt%3D18
Thanks !

madscientist06 09-05-2008 09:06 AM

I think for youtube, it already does. At least from my testing of it.

Hi, I wonder how this works:
Quote:

Local Hosted Videos
For videos uploaded to your site, you need these Media Definitions. These XML files need to be edited, either in the AME CP or in an HTML Editor. Look for YOUR_SITE_NAME_HERE and change it to the domain name of your site. Do not include .com, .net, .de, .co.uk or anything like that. So, for example, if your site is www.cogonline.net, then you'd change YOUR_SITE_NAME_HERE to cogonline. This DOES NOT embed attachments.

DIVX (.DIVX Extentions)
MP3 (.MP3 Extentions)
QuickTime (.MOV Extentions)
RealMedia (.RM & .RAM Extentions)
Flash (.SWF Extentions)
Windows Media Videos (.WMV Extention)
If i want to add a flash video, what should i do? just past the address where the video is located in my site or?

for example: http://www.xxxx.com/videos/video1.flv??? (<--- fake adress)help!!! :confused:

Yeah, 2.5 is going to need different definitions, so I'm thinking I'll need a new thread for that one, as I'm not sure the the new version will run on 3.6.

Hrm, you know, they changed the code on me the day I first released it, so I wouldn't be surprised. Post me some of the links your having trouble with.

Yes, someone pointed out the new code to me not too long ago and I added it in a previous update. It will look for the higher res one, and if it doesn't exist, it will just play the existing version.

Yes, they're just like the other definitions. You just post the location of the file. They're basically just personal definitions for media hosted on your site only.

Hey DJ, have you tested just doing a mass search/replace on width="xxx" and height="xxx" (and other variations) on the xml files? Should be pretty easy (he says!). But I agree a new thread should be made for when you do.

Thanks!

The Geek 09-05-2008 02:18 PM

oh, as an FYI.. 2.5 SHOULD create keys for you on first import. They may not be ideal, but it will do most of the work for you.

So....

Export definitions, search and replace on the export file, import, export again (to get default keys) and tweak keys where needed :)

Thanks for the offer of assistance.

The new embed code for EASW is:

Code:

Current Code in the AME Replacement Box:
Code:

<object width="425" height="355">
      <param name="movie" value="http://ll-999.ea.com/sonet-easw/2.3.6.00/flash/sw/videos/mediaplayer.swf?file=http://videocdn.easw.easports.com/easportsworld/media$p1/$p2.flv&link=http://www.easportsworld.com/en_US/video/$p3&linkfromdisplay=true&linktarget=_top&image=http://ll-999.ea.com/sonet-easw/2.3.6.00/images/sw/videos/preview.jpg&skin=http://ll-999.ea.com/sonet-easw/2.3.6.00/flash/sw/videos/skin.swf" />
      <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
      <embed src="http://ll-999.ea.com/sonet-easw/2.3.6.00/flash/sw/videos/mediaplayer.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=355&width=425&file=http://videocdn.easw.easports.com/easportsworld/media$p1/$p2.flv&link=http://www.easportsworld.com/en_US/video/$p3&linkfromdisplay=true&linktarget=_top&image=http://ll-999.ea.com/sonet-easw/2.3.6.00/images/sw/videos/preview.jpg&skin=http://ll-999.ea.com/sonet-easw/2.3.6.00/flash/sw/videos/skin.swf"></embed>
    </object>

Now, I have tried and tried to edit the code, but I'm shooting in the dark here and no matter what I do, the same video displays even if I change the file name.
