I have 2 questions regarding this modification.
1) will it be compatable with "vBulletin Version 3.0.0 Release Candidate 2" and 2) can the quote box be made wider at a set size? Say 400 pixels or maybe bigger? I'm trying to incorporate it onto these forums http://www.parent-2-parent.com/forum/index.php? and would like the quotes to all be the same width, but larger. Thanks! Dawn |
Works fine for RC2 no problems at all.
to 2) I just got a quick look for size definitions and it seems dynamical You could change the % size in the < table > tags to your desired width ( minus the fix sizes for the grafics left, right and middle for quote or quote with name) (It wouldn?t always be the EXACT same size cause a longer username add?s more px to the width then a shorter you only could make a fix size for the quote with name box as well that is wide enough to fit your largest username but I don?t think if this would look good) Then it should fit fine into your forum Greetings StarBuG ps: I hope this makes sence cause I?m totaly stoned :D |
Installed and working great on RC3, thanks Dexter.. :)

How did You make the "quote button" in this forum? Also, how to avoid crappy look, when U quote a post with a quote? |

Actually, don?t think U can as such..
But the prob is, that if You have to copy/paste a poste with a quote, and quote that contens in a post, the gfx looks awefull. Sorta like this... Quote:
/Edit*** Wierd, at my testforum it also quotes bits of the quoted gfx but very offset offcause. |

which one should i download if i wanted to add this to vb3 gold????
|
It is working with RC GOLD version,my forum is working perfectly.
Thanks |
I've got it working pretty much OK but you'll see from the attachment that a few of the images are missing!? I did a 404 check on my server and whilst most of the images are being called from images/misc/quotes the missing ones are being called from 'images/misc/quotes - that's'images with a ' so what did I do wrong?
Help appreciated. |
And does it work in vb 3.0 too?
Thanks for coding! |

hello there,
Worked perfect on vb 3.0 gold too. One question. My old POSTS.. Have not changed. those still appear in the old style. ? I tried a test post and quote it. It appears rounded But all posts are still on the same default vb 3.0 gold system how to change those too ? Thnx. Sandy... |
Be careful......
This code not compatible 3.0.1 !!! Because sometimes when you press quote and post message, message is not own ! New message quote owner..... |
Any comment or report ?

I am using vb 3.0.1. Is this compatible, i have seen some say yes, and some sya no.
Also, I was trying to install, but in step 3 it says "3. Look for the "Simple Quoting" section and click Edit " I son;t have a simple quoting section. It's all blank.. just a button to add new BBcodes. Should I be adding this as a new BBCode? Any help is greatly appreciated.. Thanks Dave |
Hi. I am using it on my test site and it is compatible. It's actually very simple to use. Here's the shortened version on step by step instructions:
Admin Control Panel > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > BBCode Layout templates > bbcode_quote > click the 'Edit' button to modify the template an replace the content with the following code: |
> bbcode_quote > click the 'Edit' button to modify the template an replace the content with the following code:
