I put out a hotfix that should resolve ACP issues.
Fillip |
Hello Fillip,
A couple of things. Throughout the line of dragonbyte's products, when cache template as files is enabled, multiple errors display. Secondly, with this specific mod that I just tried to install, the post bit is too large to fit in its area. Is there a way to turn off the additional post bit information? I take it this is only a pro option? https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2016/04/1.jpg |
You can edit each button and turn off the Given and Received stats in postbit - once that has been done for every button, the menu should disappear.

I installed but disabled it for now. Running vb 5.2.1 None of the buttons work, although they do appear, and this is I assume because no buttons are enabled in the "DBTech - Post Thanks" control panel. When I go in to edit to make the buttons work for selected (or any, or all) user groups, when I go to save the settings, after a while I just get the Invalid Page URL error and nothing is saved, so the mod doesn't work at all for me.
Same deal with your other mod vbshout - unable to edit any control panel settings, and when try to save, get the invalid page URL error. |

I disabled it, as many errors were showing up. Some of the errors resulted from having enabled cache in styles, when cached as files, multiple errors displayed on the webpage. In the Admincp, multiple errors too, like being redirected to the main home page when clicking an admincp option. |
shimei - thanks. But you were able to get this Post Thanks to work at all? because on my 5.2.1 forum I could never even save any settings to activate the buttons in the first place.

I know these issues can be frustrating, but please bear in mind that this is an extensive product and it will take some time (even for the professionals at DBTech) to iron out the issues related to the latest versions of vB.
From what I have seen, they have always provided top-notch support for their products, and I am certain they are working to resolve any issues reported here. :) |

The difficulty in this case lies in the fact that I can't even replicate any of the issues reported, which makes it a wee bit more challenging to resolve. Fillip |
Hey guys, Just upgraded our forum to this latest vb5 (o dear) and needed a thanks/like product. This seems perfect and the install goes smoothly, but when I go to edit a button and try and make it "active" I click save, and it just directs off to a page cannot be found page....
So this is from within vb admin, I click edit on "thanks" and click to make it active, click save, and have a page cannot be found page. Version 5.2.1 - any ideas? |
As you can see above, it's an issue others have experienced that I cannot replicate. I'm working on it, though :)
Fillip |
Thanks DBT!
Admincp settings worked for me after downloading and installing the latest version on here. No problems going in and editing buttons or settings! |
^^ this!
i just installed this mod and each of your other major mods for vb5 and i can successfully confirm that the mod as well as the admin settings for this mod and all of your other mods have been 100% resolved & working like a champ for me on 5.2.1 excellent job as always DB Tech! mucho props my man! ;) |
Sorry for the delay on the fix, glad to hear it's all working :)
Fillip |
Yes it works now! Thanks.
1) Question, the PM that I received when someone clicked Thanks / Like for one of my posts was: "Dear , I clicked Thanks for your thread: ___________________. The discussion is located at:_______" Why does it send the message to , and not have my username there? Is there a setting for this? 2) Also, after installing your mod, I started getting these database errors, repeatedly: Database error in vBulletin 5.2.1: Invalid SQL: SELECT * FROM template WHERE `templateid` IN (12731); MySQL Error : MySQL server has gone away Error Number : 2006 Request Date : Thursday, May 12th 2016 @ 04:10:13 AM Error Date : Thursday, May 12th 2016 @ 04:12:07 AM and on each error the Script refers back to the specific thread where I was thanked/liked for a post - the only post in the entire forum so far that has this thank/like action on it. |
Yo mdawg, nice to see you got this working man ;)
Hey I just got a quick question for you and for anyone else who has installed this update working on 5.2.1 -- so is it just me or do the Likes (Received) not go up incrementally after each like has been given? I've found myself having to go into the admin settings of this mod and constantly update the stats as that seems to bring the total # of "likes" back to where they should be ... but then again once someone has hit the "like" button the # gets reset right back to 1 likes received and it just stays there ... what gives? Any ideas? Kind of a pain having to constantly go into the admin settings and manually update everything over and over again. Not entirely sure what the deal is there, but just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue or if it is just me? Interestingly enough the Likes (Given) stat does not have this problem at all and increases on each click and does not reset back to 1 ... only Likes (Received)? Anyone else experiencing this issue? |

Thanks. bigbear I have only the one like on one post so far so I don't know the answer to your question.

I went into DB Tech - Post Thanks / Maintenance / Recalculate and clicked it - and ended up on an INVALID URL and then when I checked back at the forum, my Thanks received and likes received still stuck at 1. Then I went back and tried to first click CLEAN UP, which did not end up on an invalid url so I suppose it did something. Then I repeated the RECALCULATE process, still ended up on an invalid URL, but this time yes! the count of thanks / likes was updated to 10. Then a little later someone else clicked and gave me another thanks + like. I got the two PMs. Again my count was stuck at 10. This time just clicking the RECALCULATE alone did the job (got me to 11) - but still ended up on an invalid URL. So yes, this mod still does not work. |
I can replicate exactly nothing of what you report, sorry :(
Could you please PM me with an FTP and AdminCP account? Fillip |
Oh by the way the other issue which is even stranger is that no amount of recalculate click whatever will get the mod to give the ones who GAVE me the thanks/likes to update for them still stays at 0. (Which is the opposite of what bigbear was saying...on my end the giver gets no update no matter what I do.)
PM sent to you. |
Thx for confirming mdawg!
Let me know what your fix was if you ever do get it resolved! Much appreciated :) |
I'll check it as soon as I can, thanks :)
Fillip |
bigbear Dragon will advise us. How about this issue? bigbear are you experiencing this issue too:
When I look at statistics of my username (which I am usergroup admin) next to a post, it shows the 11 thanks received 11 likes received, but when I look at my statistics within a PM just received today, I see 0 0 0 0 for everything. In other words the mod is showing different statistics for a user depending on whether you are viewing the stats within a thread at the forum, or within a PM thread. At least this is the way it is happening at this moment for me. |
Quote:
I see this same exact thing happening on my 5.2.1 forum as well, nice catch! Oh and I'm also having this same issue that you had reported on the other day as well- Quote:
Thx for all the efforts here as always DBTech! |
A hotfix for the issue of clicking buttons corrupting the statistics have been added to the download here: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/store...like-vb5-beta/
You will need to run the maintenance action to re-count the clicks before it'll be fully working. I'll update the files here at some point once I'm convinced all issues have been taken care of. Fillip |
Excellent, many thx for that fix DB Tech! That did the trick for me on 5.2.1 ... all good here now :)
|
Also, the other issues that mdawg pointed out earlier in this thread still exist for me but to be honest those are not too terribly important for me personally ... I can live without those being corrected ... definitely just needed to get the likes stats corrected within the postbit area which it has with your hotfix there. Mucho thx once again DB Tech!
|
Yes this fix does address those issues.
I still have an uneasy feeling that this mod somehow slows down the database such that it takes a long time to access threads because of it, and also leads to "MySQL server has gone away" errors. Invalid SQL: UPDATE session SET `lastactivity`=1463368619,`styleid`=11,`languageid `=1 WHERE (`sessionhash` = '5143cb4b3ef57f7935d128fe1ccec984') /**session**/; MySQL Error : MySQL server has gone away I will leave the mod running for now, but this is just the impression I get. Maybe I am wrong. |
Hmm, that is interesting mdawg thx for the heads up there ... I'll have to monitor my board to see if I get the same problem there as you since you and I are pretty much seeing the same things as far as this mod is concerned ... however I have not personally gotten that particular database error yet though ... not before nor after I applied this most recent mod update ... also I can't say i'm seeing any particular slow down on accessing the threads ... but then again my board is not highly active.
I'll let you know if I encounter similar issues, but all looks to be running fine on my end for now ... fingers crossed as I really dig this mod and would hate to have to disable for any reason. |

This manual entry will tell you more information about the error: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/gone-away.html Most commonly it's the timeout settings referred to on that page that's the cause, so if this is an ongoing problem I would recommend looking into those first and foremost. Fillip |
At my forum the thank you count has reverted to 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 for everything, on some threads, and shows as 2 / 12 / 1 / 12 / 0 / 0 on another thread, for the same user.
It seems that on old threads the count is correct; on new threads remains at 0. I sent you a PM now on this too. Thanks. |

As I PM'ed you the issue continues and is quite odd. I sent you the screen shots. Within for example a given PM thread or post thread the first PM/post might show 0 0 0 0 0 0 for a user, and then subsequent threads / posts will show the correct count, of say, 2 12 1 12 0 0 for that exact same user. In other words, different counts are displayed for the same user within the same thread.
It seems like the FIRST post of a PM thread definitely shows nothing but 0 0 0 0 0 0 for the user, in other words, the first post on a PM thread shows incorrect values. Has anyone else experienced this? Check closely please. |

Fillip, I must regrettably say that I have lost confidence in Dragonbyte products and support in resolving issues and creating a bug free product for Vb 5. Shim |

Filip, when someone receives a thanks should it appear in the notification like hitting the stock vbulletin like button?
As far as the other issue, what had appeared after someone thanked was a count of zero zero zero across the board. If I am not wrong this was the issue being reported by another? I regret having posted this issue in this board. Thank you for taking a look at the issues that I was having and resolving them today. Shim |

I forgot to mention in my previous posts; I saw the issue about the blank forum topics, my guess is that it's to do with deleted content. I updated the SQL query for fetching new entries accordingly. Fillip |
