The mod is free for admins to install- the mod itself is not "for sale" - it is free. That was the reasoning provided.

Obviously you can choose to use it or not, but the discussion on whether it is allowed is closed.

I can not locate any of those features ^^. Is this yet another thing that can only be controlled from your side of the mod?

Also, the "post new thread" upon item listing is a no go as well. I have two listings and no threads associated with them.

And..

I seem to remember there being a feature talk about cross forum listings. In other words, is my classified showing up other places.. and if so why am I not seeing other forum's classified sections?

You asked about the following features:

1. Seller Profile Pages
This is live and implemented. Click here to view an item that's for sale in your marketplace.

If you click on the sellers name, you'll go to the seller's marketplace profile. You can directly access the profile of the seller from the above example here.

4. Moderation tools for form administrators and moderators.
You are a moderator for the SwollenCranium marketplace. To moderate live listings, go to your marketplace and click on "My Marketplace Tools -> My Active Listings" in the top right. If you'd like to designate another user as a moderator, please contact us directly.

g) The ability for an admin to choose to display relevant listings from eBay from within Enthusify.
This was on an old list of features that were "coming soon." Since we originally made that list, we have prioritized 100% of our development on the features that our partners have requested. Because this has not been a priority for our current partners, we have revised its position on our development queue.

- Automatic thread creation for new listings.
We have spoken via email about how this is configured. I have registered an account at TheSwollenCranium to confirm that this is working. I can test this on your installation as soon as my account is approved by a moderator. This feature has been rigorously tested and has worked for thousands of listings across multiple partners.

- Cross-listing of items.
Because every site is different, this is configured on a per-marketplace basis. This is the first time I'm hearing of this with regards to SwollenCranium. We'd be more than willing to talk to you about what kinds of listings you'd like to appear in your marketplace over email.

----
Generally speaking, every marketplace is different. Different communities have different needs and almost everyone has limited resources and time. We reduce the administrative burden of the administrators and moderators by configuring some things for them. This is why all of our partners have a point person at our company that they can work with to meet their specific goals. From our experience, this is more efficient than teaching new people a new system. However, we do intend, sooner rather than later, to put the full toolset in the hands of our partners.

In the case of SwollenCranium, you can reach Juan Vasconez at juan@enthusify.com at all times to answer your questions. While questions are encouraged, this thread isn't meant to go over your specific configuration. As you've seen already, we have been extremely responsive to your needs over email.

Thanks!

Sincerely,
Juan Vasconez

LoL ..

How about this. In the case of Swollencranium.com you can count this thing uninstalled. Go ahead and remove me from your side of this massively, tethered modification.

I don't know about other admins but I like to have much more control of my site and the things running through my site.

The questions I asked are pertinent to the administering of my Vbulliten site and my questions were modification specific not site specific. So asking them here is the place they obviously need to go.

I'm glad you fully described the things you did. I would have hated to find out this stuff later on as more folks started listing items.

Good luck with that.

xlguy 02-26-2013 11:32 AM

I really think they should just sell this plugin as a self-install with perhaps an annual license fee. Most webmasters prefer keep control of the whole process and that would free them up to implement their own payment processors in their own countries, or just via PayPal.

Enthusify 03-01-2013 11:18 PM

Massive update. That is the best way to describe the latest version of the Enthusify plugin that we just posted here. Want to take the Enthusify marketplace plugin for a test drive? Just drop us an email at info@enthusify.com and request a marketplace id.

1) Modified the ?Mark As Sold? feature for improved insight into marketplace behavior.
2) Modified the ?Cancel Listing? feature for improved insight into marketplace behavior.
3) The search filter ?Show listings without images? is now unchecked by default.
4) Improved how the plugin resizes if the window size changes.
5) Admins can now ban users from accessing the marketplace based off of email address.
6) Admins can now ban users from accessing the marketplace based off of I.P Address.
7) Fixed a bug where feedback appears multiple times if a user has connected to more than one marketplace.
8) All the pages that are accessed from the ?My Marketplace Tools? button now open in the same window instead of a new window.
9) Added a paid promotion option that lets users link keywords in the forum to their listing.
10) Added search functionality and pagination to the ?My Listings? page.
11) Added a badge in various parts of the marketplace that lets buyers know if a listing comes with Enthusify?s buyer protection.
12) Added a new search filter that limits results to listings using Enthusify?s buyer protection.
13) Updated the security of the page where sellers create listings.
14) Added a badge that proves we are SSL certified by GoDaddy to our checkout pages and listing creation.
15) Fixed a one-time bug for users that connect the same email to multiple Enthusify marketplaces.
16) Fixed a bug that left a space for the item image on the checkout page, even when the item has no image.
17) The ?forum username? field can now be used to match purchases with connected user accounts.
Useful for leaving feedback and for the upcoming ?My Orders? page.
18) Fixed a bug where users wouldn?t see any results if they made a search that returned fewer result pages than the amount of pages they had already navigated.
19) Fixed a bug where edits to listings by mods reassigned the owner of the automatically generated thread.
20) Fixed a bug where purchases of offers did not reflect the offer price if the payment was not being processed by Enthusify.
21) Sellers can now collect payment with Enthusify and receive a buyer?s payment on the same day.
To do this, they need to authorize a valid credit card.
This is reflected in all the communication buyers and sellers receive surrounding a listing.
22) If a thread is generated for a new listing, the success page will now link to the newly created thread.
23) If a thread is generated for a new listing, the ?Listing is Live? email also links to the thread.
24) If an admin visits the ?Who?s Online? page, the location column will say ?Enthusify Plugin? for users that are in the marketplace.
25) Made more updates to the listing creation process. (Improved the workflow / clarity)
26) Updated the ?Success? page that sellers see when they successfully create an item.
27) Updated the email the seller receives when his item sells. References where the seller is in the process and what to do next.
28) New users can now set their Enthusify account emails when they connect from the forum.
29) Significantly updated the listing creation process.
Added a ?Step 4? which is exclusively about how payment is collected and transferred.
Sellers can choose between collecting payment via Enthusify or on their own.
Sellers can now edit their PayPal email address.
Sellers can optionally provide us with feedback if they don?t use Enthusify to process payment.
Coming soon: Sellers will be able to opt into immediate payment transfer if they use Enthusify.
30) Sellers can use the ?enter? key in the descriptions to start a new line.
31) Added a toggle to ?My Active/Sold Listings? for moderators to switch between all the items for sale, and just their own.
32) Improved how users can switch between an item?s multiple images
33) Added a ?Report Item? tool below the item description.
When someone clicks this, an Enthusify staff member will receive a notification email.
34) Added ?Advanced Search? to the marketplace.
Users can now filter out listings without images, listings that are sold, and listings that are live.
Users can sort listings by post date, price, and Item title.
35) Buyers can now specify their forum username when placing a purchase.

Nice to see you continuing to work on this.. However, I have a big complaint. Someone from your company is spamming forums (using the "contact us" form) trying to promote your mod and claiming a ridiculously high revenue for the forum owner.. This "contact us" is seen by all the mods.

Thanks for the kind words and for the heads up on the 'contact us' form communication. We learn about forums that might be a good fit for the marketplace mod in a variety of ways. When we learn about a site that might be a good fit and when our schedule permits, we do attempt to reach a forum's owner. As for an inbound communication that contains a revenue estimate, we attempt to use data from compete.com or quantcast.com and data from our existing partners to give a forum owner a sense of the fee-based revenue potential in the case that is of interest. The Enthusify plugin is 100% free for buyers, sellers, and forum owners. Some sites optionally choose to collect listing fees or final value fees through their classified sections. Many owners wonder what kind of revenue they can expect through such fees.

Using the "contact us" form is not spamming. It is a way to "contact" the forum without spamming actually. I dont use this product so Im not sticking up for it, I just thought that that was a oxymoron

lazytown 03-05-2013 06:09 AM

The contact us form is not for solicitations, and on our site it states it will go to all mods. So therefor it is spamming in my opinion.

Are you saying your software supports such features as listing fees?

would like to know this as well.

My forums are setup with two separate for sale/classifieds sections. One is for members and the other is for paid listings and aren't usually selling one specific product to one person. The for sale forum is free for members.

Today, April 20, 2013, we do not have a listing fee feature. That feature should be live in a couple of weeks. It is a high priority on our product roadmap.

Today, the plugin supports the optional collection of a final value fee on successful sales. You can set the fee per user group. Thus, when user group A sells an item you get 2% of the sale and when user group B sells an item you get 0% of the sale. (or any fractional % you want)

Example: Seller sells an item for $100. Seller belongs to a user group with a 2% final value fee collected by the forum. The seller gets $95. Enthusify gets 3% ($3) to cover credit card interchange fees and its service. The forum gets 2% ($2). The seller gets $95.

Dstephan 04-22-2013 07:59 PM

This is something I definitely would use if:

-I pay for the mod and there are no final value fees for forum members to Enthusify. This is a total deal breaker, I won't even install as a demo if this isn't addressed.

-Integrated Paypal payment.

-I need to control the categories.

-We already have years of transactions - admin needs to be able to adjust feedback to reflect past transactions.

-Many of our transactions are pre-orders where the seller/artist needs the funds to create the items.

Thanks for the note. It looks like you are interested in the mod for sideshowcollectors.com? I see you are using iTrader. We can import legacy iTrader ratings for sellers.

You can add, edit, and delete categories, subcategories, and category attributes.

There are no problems using the system for pre-orders.

Sellers can use the mod 100% fee free.

Feel free to email me: chad@enthusify.com

Dstephan 04-23-2013 06:28 PM

Yes, it can be 100% fee free, which means the forum owner also collects nothing from the transaction. I want to be able to collect 1 or 2% from the transaction, but 10% is incredibly unreasonable and that scale of a fee is why sellers use my site rather than ebay.

It's great that you can import feedback from itrader- but we have feedback from before itrader I'd also like to incorporate.

Ah, maybe you read an old post or saw some old pricing. We don't charge a 10% final value fee. If you want to collect 1-2%, this plugin can do that for you. This plugin allows you to set a fee on a usergroup-by-usergroup basis.

We should be able to import feedback from other sources. So long as you can give us a spreadsheet with usernames and feedback, we should be able to import it.

Piece of crap. I really don't understand why they are allowed to have a listing on this site when they don't give everyone a Market Id. I think with this attitude this is a big risk for using them for your classifieds. Better to use PhotoPost or vbcover software.

Thanks for this feedback. At this time, the plugin only supports listings in USD (US dollars) and can only process payments in USD. Penguinboy, to the best of our understanding, your site needs currency support beyond USD. That feature is coming soon. We had to start somewhere with this plugin. We are thrilled that you are so interested in the plugin. We regret that it can't do everything that every community owner wants... yet. As our change log demonstrates, we are rapidly adding to the plugins capabilities on a weekly basis. We take all community owners' input seriously. And have to prioritize all requests for this free plugin. We are happy to supply a marketplace id to anyone who wants one. At the same time, we want to make sure we can add value to the communities using the plugin.

penguinboy888 05-01-2013 09:54 AM

That is not what your email to me says. You will only give this to companies in the US. If trades are done on my site it's done by Expats in US dollars. Again I wonder why this thread is allowed on this site if users can use it for free. Again for less bs it's better to use PhotoPost Classifieds or vbcovers product. Once I have time to review both I will purchase one or the other. I really have trouble understanding why you are allowed to post on this site when you pick and choice who can use your product.

penguinboy888 05-01-2013 09:57 AM

Sorry my mistake they only want to deal with large partners.

Hi Derek,

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like we'll be able to help you in the foreseeable future. Our focus right now is on working with a few large partners in the US. Once the product matures, we'll be able to properly serve international customers.

We've added you to our contact list and will be reaching out when you when we're ready. We're very sorry we were not able to help you out today.

Sincerely,

This plugin provides a community running on the vBulletin software platform with PCI (payment card industry) compliant payment processing. For the time being, that requires us to manually issue marketplace IDs for communities who want to use the plugin. We are working on a fully automated self-service set up for forum owners. In the meantime, we get lots of requests from around the world for the plugin. At present, as has been stated above, the plugin displays prices in US dollars and if a seller chooses to use the included, optional payment processing, the plugin processes payments in US dollars. It also displays many options in English only. Our initial review of your site led us to believe that we wouldn't be able to add value to your community. We did not realize that your site for expats in China would be in English and would transact in US dollars. Thus, the Enthusify plugin would work for your community. You seem to have moved on. We are sorry we made a few false assumptions and misjudged the value we could provide to your community. Please know that if you want a marketplace id you are welcome to have one. We were simply trying to look out for your time.

Enthusify 05-10-2013 02:51 PM

New features:
  1. You can now subscribe to automatic updates for future releases of the Enthusify vBulletin plugin. Today, if Enthusify releases a feature with tight vBulletin integration, it often requires a vBulletin admin to update the plugin. With the auto update feature, you automatically get the latest version of the vBulletin plugin and always benefit from the latest features and bug fixes. With this enhancement, Enthusify can now deploy features you requested to more tightly integrate the marketplace into vBulletin without any administrative overhead on your part.
  2. We added a toggle to the “Enthusify Settings” to allow you to opt out of Automatic Updates.
  3. We added a link in the “Listing Details” to the corresponding thread for that item in the forum.
  4. New users can now hit “enter” to connect their account once they submit their email. Previously a user had to click the continue button with a mouse click.
  5. We increased account registration security. We eliminated a feature that allowed a member of two forums on the Panjo network to connect his/her account without email verification. The lack of an email verification step could have resulted in a nefarious user finding a way to compromise a seller's listings.
  6. The Postbit link option in the “Enthusify Settings” has been significantly improved.
  7. The "Items for sale" link in a member's postbit template only displays if a member has an item listed for sale in the marketplace.
  8. Existing sellers will need to cancel, mark as sold, sell an item, or list something new for sale in order for their link to activate.
Bug fixes:
  1. Fixed a conflict with the plugin “The Image Resizer” that prevented the “Buy Now” button in the thread post versions of the listings from connecting a buyer to the checkout page.
  2. Fixed a bug where the “list view” and “grid view” buttons sometimes didn’t work
  3. Fixed a bug that impacted the loading location of 'lightboxes' for rare browser/screen resolution situations.
  4. Fixed a bug that asked some sellers to connect their PayPal account even if the seller was not using Enthusify to collect, verify, and transfer payment.
  5. Fixed a rare rounding error in “Item Has Sold” emails that sellers receive.
  6. Fixed an issue that was blocking the thread post versions of seller's listings due to title limits, image upload limits, or character limits.
  7. Fixed an issue that was placing the thread post versions of seller's listing in the moderation queue by the built-in vBulletin moderation filters. This fix does not necessarily address moderation filters from third-party plugins.

Please keep your input coming. We love delivering the features you request.

I just tried importing the .xml files and it says that it's not compatible with 4.2 and only works with versions up to 4.1.12, this was the product-extended_navigations-v1.xml

I'm using version 4.2.1

Greeksgal 09-18-2013 08:36 PM

Okay, so got a reply via email from someone at Enthusify and it works with VB4.2.1 but you only have to install the one .xml file which is the product-enthusify file.

I have a question though...I've installed, I've emailed for my marketplace ID but cannot find any option of adding a listing...Do I have to wait for the marketplace id before that option becomes available or am I going blind and missing something?

Greeksgal - yikes, you posted this days ago and we didn't seem to get an email alert. If we haven't already helped you, download the latest version of the plugin, version 4.2.2. There is a new self service wizard to get the plugin running. Don't hesitate to email info@panjo.com if you have any issues.

Hello all

Question, we have a simple classified ad section already using VB 4.x

Will this system work with the threads we already have going? Or is it a completely new system and will not work with what we already have?

Thanks in advance.

The Panjo classifieds plugin works with the legacy classifieds ad section you already have going. Post launch, when a seller goes to your legacy classifieds subforum and clicks the 'new thread' button, the seller will land on an upgraded listing creation form. Once the seller creates a listing, the listing will appear not only in the plugin, but also in your legacy classifieds sub forum. The instance of the listing in the legacy sub forum is the instance that search engines index.

Panjo 11-01-2013 11:08 PM

For sites not based in the United States - Panjo is launching support for more currencies next week (the first week of November).

Couple of question.

1) I have this bundled with my version of VB4.2.2, do I need to enable this to receive the updates, or should I update vis the download in this thread.

2) As I am in the UK, at what point will the USD/£ exchange rate be calculated, members will need to be warned as it could be a large amount on high value items

Yeah .. good luck with that.

Is this still in play? I know in general and in most states there are varying laws that allow a 3 day cancellation period, it's iffy of course but something is at least there in certain scenarios. I sell products and services that I'm used to being payed for promptly, the services offered are like that of a Doctors Office where a little plaque hangs on the wall or near the desk "Payment Due when services are rendered" and to me 14 days despite "buyer/seller protection" is not acceptable in regards to how I would want to use this and I feel many others feel the same way - I'm not here to cheat people and we should be allowed to receive payment promptly not a fortnight later :p.

If this is still enforced, is there a upcoming version where the site owners can specify the number of days? 3 versus 14 as a prime example... let me know and thanks for your time.

Edit: Also another example; If I sell a style, then the buyer cancels on day 13/14 they still have the style files and can install and run it on their website... so this "escrow" can protect a seller how at that point in time? I would then be responsible for taking legal action so in the end it truly does nothing but band-aid a persons feeling of security in a sense am I wrong here or what is your take on this Panjo team... why 14 days?

Couple of question.

1) I have this bundled with my version of VB4.2.2, do I need to enable this to receive the updates, or should I update vis the download in this thread.

2) As I am in the UK, at what point will the USD/? exchange rate be calculated, members will need to be warned as it could be a large amount on high value items

Answer 1) When you upgrade to vB 4.2.2, you have Panjo reinstalled, however it is disabled by default. You need to enable Panjo by going through the 3 step set up wizard. Once you do that, you should automatically get Panjo updates unless you opt out of the updates (which is an advanced Panjo setting).

Answer 2) If a UK seller lists an item in ? and a US buyer purchases the item using dollars, the exchange rate is calculated by PayPal at the moment of purchase. That is the point funds transfer.
