I'm definitely interested in this. I used the vS Hide Hack Resurrection mod, so now I'm hoping to use this + DBTech's mod to achieve essentially the same thing. Got 2 questions/suggestions.

1. One thing that the vS hack had was it had the ability to set [hide] to be equivalent to [hide-reply] or [hide-thanks] or whatever. Looks like your mod is hard-coded to have [hide] be equivalent to only [hide-reply]. Would it be possible to allow the admin to select which BB code [hide] is equivalent to?

2. The vS hack also had a [hide-reply-thanks] BB code which is what I used on my forum. It showed content if the user either replied or thanked.

I look forward to your responses. Thanks!

I can definitely look into getting these features added! :)

Looks like a pretty good mod.

Does it add a link to the footer? Any way to remove that?

It doesn't add any link at the moment! :)

with vb4.1.11 :
1 - the content remains hidden even if I answer
2 - content is hidden even to the author of the post

Hi, A date? thank you:)

MrAd 03-12-2012 07:18 PM

One more question, David:
Are your hack also working on blog, cms and sidebar? I already tried a few other hide-hacks, but all of them are only working in the forum, but they spill out the hidden content on blogs, cms and sidebar

It won't show hidden content anywhere :)

MrAd 03-16-2012 02:02 PM

it would be good to have an option which allows to by-pass the hide-hack for different usergroups (eg. admins)

How do you enable them to show? Vbulletin 4.1.11 my hide icon don't show on post panel or in advance post panel.

You'll need to set usergroup permissions.

Sometimes, the link becomes invisible, even to the poster after 24 hours, and when I edit the post or reply the link has disappeared!(version lite)

Hi David. Seems that still something happening out of the ordinary. Posted thread yesterday testing hide tag and showgroup tags. All well and first 5 or 6 people testing it said it worked fine, everyone who replied saw the hide hidden content and only those with permission saw the showgroup tags. However, later that night it appears that it stopped working and hide tag no longer worked in the very same thread. Must be a cron or something which is running at certain times and conflicting with thios mod perhaps ? I dunno. Even as admin i can now no longer see the hidden content in the thread. Strange but hopefully you have an idea :)

blueperspective 03-27-2012 05:24 PM

Any news about the new update that will include a fix for my issue regarding "thanks problem" as well ? :-)

I hide it with hide code and it shows as **Hidden Content: Reply to Unlock**

I can't even see the hidden content myself, as an admin, after I post that. How can members who reply to see?

mitch84 03-30-2012 08:54 AM

Finally I found. If one or several following comments are edited, the link hidden in the first comment disappears and even if we answer again it does not work!
ps: this hack is supported? there is never any response to my last comments

I'll see about getting that fixed! Thanks for reporting! :)

iyama 04-08-2012 12:18 PM

Is there a update about the troubels that this mod is not working proper?

blueperspective 04-10-2012 01:00 PM

It doesn't work anymore.
I'm using [hide] option from an user, replying with another one and able to see the content, but if I refresh the page or leave the thread and come back later.. ca't see the hidden content anymore. It tels me I have to reply to see it.
More than that, I (as a poster) can't see my own content if I'm using [hide] or any other option. The dangerous part is that.. the content is lost forever.
One more thing, the [hide-thanks] isn't working as I said before.
Hope to see this mod working in the future, especially after I bought it with 45$ a few weeks ago, so own the PRO version. Still useless!

DavidsMods 04-10-2012 02:10 PM

I'll have an update out by next week hopefully. I'll keep you all posted!

- David

iyama 04-11-2012 02:52 AM

@blueperspective: You are lucky, on my site its give a very big error. ;)

MrAd 04-13-2012 07:04 AM

there is another problem that people reported on my board:
If they do a post with hidden content and use the preview-button before saving the post, the hidden content disapears forever.
-
Same happens, if they edit a post with hidden content. The content simply is completly lost.

+1 me too:down:

cbiweb 04-25-2012 11:24 PM

The editor button isn't showing up. I've set the usergroup permissions properly, and the images are in the correct directories. I'm running 4.1.3, is that too old?

LouiseWilson 04-27-2012 01:05 PM

That's the reason I've not updated to V4 as yet there is no fully working hide hack
I'm keeping a close eye on this thread tagged for future Pro client

cbiweb 04-30-2012 12:48 AM

I've just installed the Pro version and the images are still not showing up. Why? and how can I fix? This is very important.
  • It is enabled in Options.
  • Usergroups are set to Yes permissions.
  • Hide icon images are in every images/editor folder that I have for all my styles, and yes they are still in the dmods/hide/images/editor folder, too.

cbiweb 05-01-2012 05:50 PM

Is there support for this hack or not? I have a client who paid for the Pro version, the images still are not showing up, he submitted a ticket, and no response. What's the problem here?

edit: Okay, for some reason, the icons are now showing up - but I have no idea why. But now when I try submitting a new thread using the hack, I get this error:

HTML Code:

Fatal error:  Call to undefined method vB_WysiwygHtmlParser::parse_wysiwyg_html_to_bbcode  () in /home/producti/public_html/vbtest/dmods/hide/classes/core.php on line 319
Line 319 in core.php is this:

PHP Code:

$regex[1] = $html_parser->parse_wysiwyg_html_to_bbcode($regex[1], false);

So where do I go from there?

I already said it in post #149, which is only 4 posts before yours. Don't you read all the posts since you last visited?

It's too late anyway, by the time you replied I already moved on to another hide hack, which worked perfectly right out of the box.

iyama 05-28-2012 01:59 PM

Untaged this, there is no update from developer more.

nacaruncr 05-28-2012 02:58 PM

check my signature man :D
regards :)

mitch84 05-28-2012 03:13 PM

OHVUI.ORG 05-14-2013 08:48 PM

MentorBR 08-04-2019 02:24 PM

Does anyone know of a similar mod that works in version 4.2.5?
