As I stated in the previous reply, please PM me a site URL (or post it here) so I can take a look at it while its working/not working and see if its an easy fix.

A few ideas for you guys to improve this module...

- Change slide feature to show text from right to left (instead of top to bottom as it is now).
- Add left and right arrows so users can scroll back and forth manually.
- Give admin the ability to change the time between slides.
- Ability to run multiple sliders showing different info, I want one slider for forums 1-3, another for 4-6, and another one for the CMS articles.
- Ability to load graphics within the admin panel.
- Scaling attachment background images - reduce size to fit the width at least.
- Size configurable in the admin control, not the theme variables.

That's it for now... ;)

DragonByte Tech 03-12-2012 11:34 AM

A couple of those are already in the Pro version. Others are already on the drawing table for a future version. The rest I will definitely take into consideration for a future version. Thanks!

This is a "must have" in pro version. I'd like to have it soon ;)

Another thing: the option to resize the height and width of textblock and the transparency.

You can already resize the width of the textblock via stylevars. The height is purely based on the height of the slider (left and right content) or the amount of content (top content). Opacity is hardset, but I could possibly add that as a stylevar as well.

As far as the prev/next and all that, its in the plans for v3, which I am planning to be a major overhaul of the entire thing. :D I will say its in the design stages, and I hope to be in the development stages sometime soon. It'll probably still be awhile before its ready though, unfortunately. :(

Can I just say that... DBTech is the one stop shop for all of the MUST HAVE mods? Thank you guys for all the awesome work.

:)

The slider get the first image in the article. There's a way to select another one (the second) to display?

I've responded to your same question over on the DBT support site.

Just got the Pro Version. Looking forward to many ongoing updates to be sent to my email address!

Great mod, thanks for it!! I do have a question though.
Any way to have the image that is "fit" in the slider to be centered instead of pulling from the top? I find that it would work fine to show the center section of images that ar too tall for the slider.

Not right now, but I will look into it. It will definitely be fixed in the next version (currently in the planning stages).

Also, please remember to click Installed. :D Thanks!

I am having one issue, it seems to want to run the same slider multiple times in a row. No other plugins added.

It appears the issue is that you are having it pull 10 articles, but you only have 5-6 articles total on the site, so its causing that to duplicate some of the articles. Try lowering the latest article count to 3-5 and see if that fixes it.

Brad

EDIT: Disregard that comment, as it should only display the max number of slides as there are available content items. So if you only have 5 articles, but have it set to display the 10 most recent, it should only display what's available, which is 5. What are your settings for the CMS slider? (screenshot?)

Her it is.

I really need to center the images for this slider to work well. Is there a way in the coding that I can manually make the images center?
If not, how long till the next version comes out?

iadventure 05-25-2012 04:03 AM

Other 2 settings

I can't replicate this at all. Any way you can PM me login details for the ACP so I can try to troubleshoot it on the actual site?

As far as the next version, I am hoping to get it out in the next couple of months, but I can't guarantee anything unfortunately. As far as manual code edits, with the way it is currently coded, if the image is centered, then the text area will be completely screwed up. :(

Same here. I would like to buy this product.

How many items were you trying to load into the slider when you experienced the MySQL issues? Once the content it initially loaded, it never hits the database again until the page is loaded again, so it causing the database to go away seems odd to me.

But yes, the next version should help this issue out.

This is great, best slider around at the moment and the pro version is tempting!

Crotan 06-05-2012 10:36 PM

This mod seems to ignore soft deleted blog entries, and will still display them.

I'm looking into it. I asked for a little more info in your thread over on our site. Thanks!

iadventure 06-15-2012 06:10 PM

when is the next version coming out?

wat3v3r 06-16-2012 02:44 PM

This mod used to work great in vb4.1.10 but since we upgraded to vb4.2.0 (suite). We keep getting this error whenever this mod is activated....

Code:

Warning: mysqli_query() [function.mysqli-query]: (42000/1064): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ') AND cms_node.setpublish =1 AND cms_node.publishdate <= 1339861308 ' at line 7 in [path]/includes/class_core.php on line 1391
Any fix for this ? We just had it loaded for our forums not CMS.

Edit:

Nvm I had to upload the suite version XML :p Wehad the forum version before.

oscuroknight 06-19-2012 12:10 AM

Check again, it does indeed. http://flotgaming.net/forums

Recon0303 07-06-2012 05:41 AM

I know how to install mods, and I keep getting an error, so there must be something wrong then??? I installed to the root folder as I do with other mods, I add the XML file. I get error line 234 file missing ,I would have to get the exact error...

Recon0303 07-06-2012 05:45 AM

/hermes/bosweb/web176/b1762/ipg.dividedallegiancecom/vbulletin/dbtech/vbslider/includes/class_install.php appears to be missing!

This is the error, I get I have 4.2, I tried the forum only, I tried the suite since I have that, but either work. ANy ideas?

DragonByte Tech 07-06-2012 09:37 AM

The file does in fact exist in the download, as I just checked, so please try to upload all of the files again. Perhaps there was an issue when you originally uploaded the files. Since the error is a missing file, it should be easy enough to look for it in the location listed via FTP or your host's file manager.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

this is vbslider pro or other slider?

DragonByte Tech 07-09-2012 10:16 PM

That is a different (unknown) slider.

Brad

Reycer 07-16-2012 08:41 PM

Any idea when the image sizing problem will be fixed?

Also, when I click on the "read more" link I get No input file specified.

DragonByte Tech 07-17-2012 01:54 AM

I am currently working on the next version. Unfortunately, I just got a new job and am also in the middle of relocating to a different state for the new job, getting a house ready to sell, etc... so I don't have as much time as I used to. :( I am still trying to get it done when I have time.

As far as the "Read More" link issue, are there particular instances when this occurs, or on every single slide, irregardless is its for the forum, CMS, blog, or custom? I've never seen that message before, so just trying to get a better idea of what could cause it.

Brad

Reycer 07-17-2012 02:03 AM

It's giving me the message on every link. The link looks correct, but when you click on it, you get that message. Getting it when I click on the article link in the slider also. It's on the CMS.

Mike

DragonByte Tech 07-17-2012 02:52 AM

Can you PM me a link to your site so I can look into it more? Also, are you running vBSEO? I know there were some issues with CMS articles and vBSEO because vB's URL rewrite for the articles didn't work. Its been fixed as of v4.2, but this mod hasn't been updated for that yet. If its a vBSEO issue, then I can probably direct you to file edits which will make it work.

Brad

Recon0303 07-17-2012 09:10 AM

Brad, I been messing with on and off since, and I get the same error every time no idea why. But I did it correct as I have added plenty of other mods, I love to get this to work. Anyway you can help me through this?? Sometime please?

Are you using vBSEO? Send me a PM with a link to your site and I'll see what I can figure out.
