very nice and creative mod

Do I have permission to further modify this? I would like to change into 4 columns. Only a slight modification of the template, from /2 to /4

Thanks

That's a sad note to play. Your mod has limitless potential to change the face of VB.
Would it be ok to tinker around with the code some? I have an idea I'd like to persue.

mgurain 04-28-2012 08:31 AM

It's nice but could you add an option to hide (last post, and stats info) ?

Thanks,,

Neal-UK 05-06-2012 01:38 PM

This is a great mod and looking forward to the option to adjust which category goes where.

inigo 05-18-2012 10:22 AM

Waiting the option to select wich categories to display in two columns,...

Nice mod!

WendM 06-05-2012 09:09 PM

oh deary me, it doesn't work on vB4.2 :(

shame, as it looks an excellent Mod! I do hope the kind author can update/resurrect this! Thanks, RellecT!

Disco_Stu 06-08-2012 12:58 PM

Tried it on 4.2 and it worked...well sort of. Looks ok until you expand the sidebar. Then the display gets a bit weird.

I think the mod has a lot of potential and I'll try it again after the next update but for now I uninstalled it.

xRaW 07-19-2012 12:19 PM

is there anyway to have say 2 options on the top of the forums that will say Layout : Normal | Columns.

So when i click normal it will go to normal and stay normal. If i click columns it will stay columns

You can disable the mod in specific styles.
So create new style, and disable this mod in it. Then you will have 2 styles, one with columns and one without.
Then just add the links to replace styles. Not should be such a problem.

Having duplicates of the styles would be too much of an issue. Needing to edit everything that i modify. Postbit, forumhome, navbar, shoutbox, everything. 1 site ive seen they had it so you can switch between without needing to be an admin. And its user based so it picks up if you're logged in it will go to whatever you last left off as e.g.

attachment 2

As you can see theres 2 options im currently on classic and when i click columns it will do this

attachment 1

would be much more better than needing to have 2 different styles

I'm sorry, I will not release any update soon.
This request especially complicated since it require re-design the categories structure.
I might build it sometime, but if I will, it be paid version.

You don't have to redo all the changes you have done in the templates. You can just create sub-style under the main style.

its still too much effort. It doesnt give the other users the variety of changing through without needing to change style. its easier for them to have that option to have quick change through the different layout. Not everyone likes it :p

Well this is the only way I could think of with the current version.
As mentioned before, currently I don't continue the development of this mod any time soon.

Killhunter 08-02-2012 09:57 PM

Could you please add the feature that you can hide the stats? Would look much nicer!

Dr Aj642 08-03-2012 06:51 AM

Any chance we can get this feature added: •Ability to choose which categories to split instead of all categories. ???

Would be great! thanks

Ok, wasnt a big deal with templates, you dont have to do that.

Very nice mod, thank you. Isn?t it possible to add the feature to get this running not only at forumhome? Thank you very much!

I stated that I won't continue develop this mod.
And yet, I have a list of minor fixes and new options to add, but I don't have the time to work on it.
*Maybe* I will release update, but I can't guarantee that.
Anyway, I see that you already handled that yourself :)

It's been asked a lot and I answered that such option is very complicated + I don't have the time continue develop this mod.
As mentioned above, maybe I will release an update, but most chances that this option won't be included yet.

What do you mean by "not only at forumhome"?
Where else it can be used?

Donkey11 09-13-2012 11:52 PM

Where can you find such a modification to version 3.8?

nezr 09-14-2012 04:27 AM

Is it possible to make 4 columns?

Sorry, this mod designed to only 2 columns.
I don't have time to update this mod, but I got many improvement requests.
Make it possible for more than 2 columns already in the list.

I can't guarantee that I will update this mod, but if I will, know that your request is in the list.

It looks you have a block that doesn't related to the categories. Take it out from the categories' container.

vb4.2.0 PL3 installed and running without problems

XvG-Murk 02-14-2013 07:34 PM

Just a note it says "Not Supported" for vb 4.2 but I installed and it does work.
Also, if you do use this it will look better with a fluid style.

Killhunter 02-16-2013 10:17 AM

I would love to see this in VB5! :)

Works perfect @ 4.2

baytalha 12-11-2013 06:07 PM

I wish just selected categories enable this hack

Baghira 01-18-2014 08:32 PM

First of all: Works with latest Version and looks great @ 1600x900. I can resize the screen but when reaching something around 600px, some parts overlap. Thats a problem at some mobiles I think (if mobile style not in use).

What I don?t like is that I have no chance to decide, what categories are on the right or left side. I can not change the order to decide this and there is no option for that.

I read that you will add this option and I love to be informed of it.

For an future update, it would be a nice addition not to have categories on left/right but to have forums in categories on left/right under each categorie. So something like an inner two column model.

Great work so far, hope you will continue it ;)
Thanks for this very nice mod

Ok I have to correct this.... sry.

When creating a new thread in one of the slitted categories, I get:

PHP Code:

Warnung: Function split() is deprecated in ..../newthread.php(77) : eval()'d code (Zeile 22)

But this seems not to be an error of your mod

RisingGlow 05-27-2014 05:25 AM

How would I exclude some categories?
