Yes what ever the THIS_SCRIPT value of the page you are linking to needs to be put in that field, or the tab will not highlight.
Chris |
I apologize, but I do not understand. How do I set the "THIS_SCRIPT" value of a page? I created the page with BF-Easy Pages and there is no setting for "THIS_SCRIPT". Is there some way for me to do this manually?
Sorry, I am a newbie. |
Nevermind, I was able to view the source of the page, and search for THIS_SCRIPT. I figured it out, it was pages.
Thanks. |
Glad you got it sorted out, let me know if you need anything else. :)
Chris |
I do have one question ....
I'm trying to get a grip on the THIS_SCRIPT parameter. One of my new tabs links to a page, (well, a thread really), and from the source it tells me that the parameter value is "showthread". However, another page (thread) I want to link to has the same value. Possibly I'm being very dense here but if the same value is on both tabs, which one gets highlighted and when? |
If two tabs have the same THIS_SCRIPT value they will both be highlighted at the same time, so if you choose one they will both be highlighted. That is how vBulletin handles it.
What I would do in your situation in order to have the tab highlight when it is selected is in the field URL To Tab paste the full url to the thread, and instead of selecting THIS_SCRIPT select URL in the field URL To Tab. This will highlight each tab as it is selected. Chris |

OK, great, I'll give that a go, thanks. |
Let me know if it works, it should if it is set up right.

Hey Chris, nice mod. It looks great and seems pretty simple to use.
I am having a little problem with getting the tabs to highlight when they go to the page they are linked to. I created 2 pages off of the CMS which both use the same THIS_SCRIPT (vbcms) value, so I just used the url parameter tab mode (with full url) and left the this_script field blank. Whenever I go to these pages it still highlights the CMS page. Is there something I missed? I am running vb4.1.11. Thanks for your help. |
What is it you are linking to in the cms?
I created a tab, linking to article, for Tab Mode I choose URL, so when I clicked on that tab it took me to the article and highlighted the tab. Chris |

What do you have in the field Tab Mode?

I have tried just the URL and it still gives the same problem. |
Try URL and see what happens.

This looks like an awesome mod that took a lot of time and effort to create!
However, I have already customized tabs, and all I really wanted to do was add a new navlink to my default tabs (Home/Forum/Blog). Will this MOD enable me to add navlinks to already-existing default tabs? Thanks! |

Thanks.
Will the light version or just the pro? |
Both Sir!
|
Thanks again--I will try!
|
No you can not add navlinks to the default tabs with the mod. You can however, remove the default tabs with the mod (PRO) then add the tabs back using tthe mod and then add navlinks to that tab. By navlinks I assume you mean the links in the sub-navbar.

All I want to be able to do is add a couple of navbar links to my existing Home/Forum/Blog tabs. Can't seem to find any way to do this :( Jack |
Only way I can think of is to add them into the templates directly.
By finding the place you want them displayed and adding this: HTML Code:
<li><a href="memberlist.php{vb:raw session.sessionurl_q}">Your Text Here</a></li> Chris |
Chris, I sure do appreciate your time, thank you. Okay, this is what I am trying to do:
I have the following custom Navbar Tabs: Articles | Videos | Macro Image Hosting and I am successfully able to place a "Subscribe" Navbar link at the end of each navbar pertaining to each tab. However, what I cannot seem to do is figure out a way to place this "Subscribe" Navbar link at the end of my navbar for each of my Vbulletin Default Tabs: Home | Forum | Blogs. I tried to follow the advice you were kind enough to give, Chris, but was unsuccessful. Here is my entire Navbar template, and highlighted in red is where I put your recommended coding: Code:
<div id="navbar" class="navbar"> Thanks again! Jack |
In that template which is for the Forums Tab yeah, it is in the wrong place, move it to,
After this line: HTML Code:
</vb:if> HTML Code:
<vb:if condition="$show['canviewforums']"> HTML Code:
</vb:each> HTML Code:
</vb:each> HTML Code:
</vb:if> HTML Code:
</vb:if> |
Will this mod let me display a drop down menu on vbulletin cms for categorys under sections on the cms nav bar ?
|
Thank you so much for your time Chris, these did the trick!
On the Forums Tab, I had to re-adjust a bit and actually place the link here: Code:
</li> Thank you sincerely again :) Cheers, |
Not a problem, glad to help. :)

Or you could leave the Home Tab intact and do as described. Chris |
Given that this mod (or the pro version of it, at the very least) evidently can talk to the other DBT mods somehow...would it be possible for this mod to let us specify the position of the tabs added by other DBT mods (or maybe even edit those tabs and their menus) at all? I've got a situation where the tab for the arcade is stubbornly staying to the far left next to the forum tab, whereas I'd prefer it on the far right, and I can't figure out how to change that.
|
Not at this time, but you can disable the default tab that came with the arcade and make the tab with the mod, then you will have full control over it's location.
To turn off the arcade tab go to DragonByte Tech: vBArcade - General Options and set Enable Navbar Tab to no. Chris |
I suppose that works. I don't see the Arcade having any sub-menu, after all. Thanks.
|
If it did ever have any sublinks added to it, you could add those as well with this mod.
Chris |
With this mod, is it possible to have a tab for a specific forum category, and keep that tab (and only that tab) selected for that forum category, forums, sub forums, and all threads viewed within that forum/category?
I've been looking for this solution for a while. I've tried custom coding it myself, installing other tab modifications, but it just doesn't seem possible. |
