First off thanks for this great mod, and expanding it to Vb3.

I installed Legacy on 3.8.4

I tested creating a new member and received an error:

The paid registration product has encountered an error. Please report this to the board administrator.

Your Error message as indicated in the FAQ:

329865343
No subscriptions accessible to "Users Awaiting Email Confirmation" usergroup.

Solution, Ensure you have completed step 2 on the Install :

2. Make each subscription accessible to the Users Awaiting Email Confirmation group in the subscription permissions. Any subscription you do not do this for will not show on the subscription selection page.

How much do you charge for the service?

That modification is not supported and it's last update was in '09.

Nothing can be done here.

Hello Lancerforhire,

Sorry stupid question but where does one fill in the info to have it listed below the dropdown boxes??

Also how hard (for a technical idiot like me) is it to have a different looking page similar to the one in your second screenshot

Lastly and most importantly, we have a unique payment system here in SA called Paygate, it worked fine on version 1.3 of your mod but now in 1.6 I am getting checksum errors that relate to encryption codes not calculating properly. I am not saying this is caused by your mod but just wondered if any major changes between 1.3 and 1.6 would cause this and do we have change something our end to get it to work. My developer seems to have the mod working on his site and he doesnot sue your mod (once again not saying your mod is causing the issue) just grasping at straws.

I really like your mod and want to keep it installed so hoping we can throw some light on possible causes here.

thanks for the great work

The subscription description.

If you are not experienced with editing templates and html then you will not be able to accomplish this. I can perform this service for a fee though; send me a PM if you are interested.

Are these checksum errors from the paid registration product or your custom payment processor?

You're welcome. :)

Mark4865 06-06-2011 08:06 PM

Thanks for reply will pm you on the template issue, just need to work out what I want so I can give you an idea of work then you can quote me a fee, thanks for this.

Checksum error is coming from our custom payment system being Paygate, it worked in version 1.3 and my developer has it working on his test site. We have not changed encryption codes etc all still the same so not sure of the issue. Anything changed from version 1.3 to 1.6 that would effect this??

Thanks for time in answering and product support

This was actually a test case before I released the beta. If you click on the free option then go to the forum's home page, then go back to the registration, it removes the cookie (a plugin does this) so you can make a choice again. Maybe I should add a note on the subscription selection screen to visitors know they can make another choice. Thanks for testing this!

Hmmm..This is not really a fix. A user will not know to do this...

Remember this cookie fix Lancerforhire? Well...for some reason, the highlighted code does not work in IE, works in chrome and in firefox.

A lot changed between 1.3 and the current version but if the Paygate solution follows the same conventions as the built in methods, there should be no problem interacting with this modification. Note that while it may work on your developer's server, his site and yours are in two different environments. There isn't much else I can say about this. :)

The fix where the link is added to the top of the free option? That's odd, working for me in IE; I just tried it on your site.

HellRZR 06-06-2011 09:11 PM

yes, when I look at it, the highlighted link does not showup...

Screenshot?

HellRZR 06-06-2011 09:29 PM

There you go, IE and Firefox

vbresults 06-06-2011 10:27 PM

Weird, I can't reproduce the issue. What version of IE?

Can you save the HTML into a text file and upload it here?

HellRZR 06-06-2011 10:47 PM

IE 9 and zip is attached.

Mark4865 06-07-2011 08:39 PM

Hello,

I need a copy of version 1.3 just to test something on my site. We had 1.3 working perfectly and are having issues with something else and I am not sure what is causing it. Want just go back to 1.3 for a quick test can anyone help me with version 1.3

HellRZR 06-07-2011 09:18 PM

I have version 1.2 and 1.4, would those help?

vbresults 06-07-2011 09:41 PM

By the way HellRZR, I am trying to figure out what is causing that problem in IE9. There is nothing browser-specific in the modification, so this is very awkward. If you clear your cache, does it change?

HellRZR 06-07-2011 09:46 PM

Hi Lancerforhire.

I tired everything including clearing the cache, I think it must be my laptop that is wacky! Because when I try it on my desktop running IE9, it works perfectly.

Mark4865 06-08-2011 05:05 AM

Thanks HellRZR sent you pm with my email address

Mark4865 06-08-2011 11:53 AM

Lancerforhire just an update on previous issue I am having

As I logged in subscriber I went to my paid subscriptions and was able to push the Paygate button and get to the credit card paymnet page no problem. If I try and push the Paygate (SA payment system) as a new member trying to register and pay for a subscription it thens gives me a check sum error. This worked perfectly for me in version 1.3 but now in 1.6 we have check sum errorrs. Any ideas please I am desperate here.

There is nothing I can do about this here; it seems to be a problem outside of the product.

Mark4865 06-08-2011 12:30 PM

Thanks for quick response. Do you still have a copy of 1.3 lying around I want to re-install 1.3 as I know it worked with that and just see if I can get the same result with 1.3 then I know it is an issue between 1.3 and 1.6.

As I told you in the PM, I do not. 1.2 should be almost the same so maybe you should get that one from HellRZR.

Mark4865 06-08-2011 01:36 PM

thanks, will try that

HellRZR 06-08-2011 07:58 PM

Files sent, ver.1.2 and ver.1.4.

Mark4865 06-10-2011 09:31 AM

Thanks for earlier versions HellRZR much appreciated.

We have discovered the problem and it is with all versions if we want to use our custom payment system (Paygate).

The problem is Paygate requires a email address when processing payment so it will work fine it you could make sure people cant choose a subscription without 1st completing a registration form, is that possible?? If fields like username, password and email address had to be filled in prior to choosing a subscription this could solve our problem.

Is this possible or too much customisation that wont really help anyone else??

To answer your question quickly enough, no, it is not possible.

This is a problem with the payment processor, not the product; and you pretty much hit the nail on the head saying it would help nobody else. It is just not practical to make changes like this for custom payment systems. If the regular subscription payment method conventions are followed (which they are not for Paygate, from what you said [...need email first]), it should work.

preemz10314 06-11-2011 02:20 AM

seems like a great way to make some $...I will use this on my next project.. as far as payments go..May I ask, how that works, will I need to set up new subscriptions on the vb side or is that done via your mods panel..a little more input would be great. Tagged.

Mark4865 06-11-2011 05:33 AM

thanks for feedback Lancerforhire appreciate the effort

Mark4865 06-11-2011 05:36 AM

Just a thought but is this a custom change you could make for me and if so how much would it cost

You set up the subscriptions on the vB side. Nothing extra to do compared to regular subscriptions after following the installation instructions.

This is off-topic in the modification thread; please send me a PM to further discuss this.

Mark4865 06-13-2011 08:57 AM

Anyone running this wth 4.1.4

HellRZR 06-13-2011 09:35 AM

Not yet! I wanted to upgrade yesterday, but when I saw all the problems people are having with 4.1.4 being reported at vb.com, I am holding off for a while.

vbresults 06-13-2011 07:24 PM

4.1.4 included a big update so I guess it's to be expected from IB. :p

Mark4865 06-14-2011 02:01 PM

Just voted sorry had nominated already but didnt release I needed to vote as well my bad thought it automatically voted when you nominated.

thanks for all the great work and effort this is a fantastic mod
