I recently downloaded this Gameroom (ibProArcade as well), but now some of my users are complaining that their workplace is blocking the forum due to it being classified as "Games" in their Websense screening.

Any idea what would cause this, and more importantly, is there a way around it?

There's no way really to change that, even if you removed it it's doubtful websense would update your listing, websense is meant to block sites and it's working as advertised. What I do is find random, cheap, backup domains to 'point' to my web host and let users visit it from those sites... for example if yourdomain.com is blocked, yourdomain.info or someprofessionalsoundingdomain.net aren't blocked (yet) just add them as 'parked' domains in your cpanel and set the nameservers to those of your web host... you should get months, if not years, before they are blocked again, then just dump them and move on to another.

Also, I recently moved my CMS from Drupal to WordPress, but that was only for my frontpage (which is under construction) and shouldn't have affected by vb forums which are located at mysite/forums (including the vb provided CMS), but I made the change right around the same time I installed these hacks, so I don't know what to think.

I do not believe there are any SEO issues with multiple domains, just don't 'advertise' them so anyone who links to your site is consistent using the main link, otherwise you're splitting your link backs for no reason.

i changed the postbit_legacy and now works...

I installed this mod on VBul 4.0.4 and it has totally screwed my site. This is what I get when I try to login the admin pannel. I doesn't open the admin pannel it takes my back to my shafted site.

I can't even disable the mod, i'm not locked out, I am screwed!

You can disable all mods by adding a line to your config.php file to disable hooks, offhand I don't remember what it is but I'm sure if you search here it's posted all over.

Once the mods are disabled you can login and uninstall as normal.

To disable mods, edit file config.php

add at top, after <?php

Great mod installed in vb 4.0.5 works great but i have a question, is this safe?im not a big fan of installing game in my forum cause of the secure.
Do i have to worry about that?

to date there are no known exploits but you never know- that is a risk with any mod (or forum for that matter.)

Yeah i know nothing is 100% secure but some mods are more insecure than others.
I will take the risk in this one because is a great add for my forum.

I would recommend Extreme caution in paying for the pro version of this Andrew has not been on his forum since April and prior to that he disappeared for over 6 months without a peep while his forum was filled with porn spam. As a premium member who paid 45.00 for the last year of ""updates"" I find that I can not even start a topic there and I just got a notice of a renewal of the licence that expires in two days. This experiance has ruined my confidence in supporting third party developers.

I admit it is sad Andrew seems to be MIA, I hope for his sake it is by choice and not some sort of medical or other emergency- I myself left the internet one day for a year with no warning due to a medical emergency.

I am just confused about this 'subscription' you have? When I bought The Gameroom I believe it was a 1 time payment, it's been well over a year and I've never gotten an email about renewing a subscription. :confused:

I downloaded this lite version, I thought it was pretty crappy, but decided to try the pro version from his forum, i've downloaded it and the programming is really bad, lots of errors all over the place like being able to bet minus figures.

My forum members are enjoying ibparcade a whole lot more than this gameroom which costs a rediculous amount.

VB3 has been out for many years, VB4 has been out for a good year too... yet in all this time with all the demand only this 1 guy has ever managed to come up with a mod where forum users can play games against each other- first in the Casino with Texas Hold 'em ans now with multiple games with this mod... I don't understand why? It can't be all that difficult can it? Seems like someone who is actually around to support it could clean up with a better supported similar mod, you have people paying $45 to a guy who isn't even around - imagine what you could bring in if you charged $20-$25 and actually supported it.

completely agree,I got the gameroom pro version when it came out and at first suppport was good,bugfixes and new games fairly often,then it just went dead,if anyone could take this over and continue with bugfixes and new games and features it would be amazing.

Even if some other coders could find a way to add games it would really bring this thing back to life.

As it is now its still not a bad mod to have on site,me and many users have had a lot of great games that brought a lot of members closer and added some good activity on times we would schedule games,for now we just deal with the minor bugs and prey for an update

im running 4.0.5 and i installed this mod and it will not work...the gameroom gets added to my navbar and i can click on it and it displays the gamroom but no games or anything is displayed.

I am ready to sing the praises of this add ons development and renewal of activity I was hoping to see more forthcoming with the 4.0X release.
Thankfully I have vbookie to rely on now for sports betting I am wondering if switching back to vbcredits will resolve the creating a user issue ? it seemed like it was the game room cash that caused the error.

I did not go back and find the plug in, but I did uninstall and reinstall on 4.06 after upgrading and reactivating vbcredits and using it as the cash typing credits in place of cash. so far everything is working and I no longer have the adding a new user issue, I'm guessing it has something to do with the initial cash given.

I Spoke too soon I am still having this error after installing vbcredits and using credits in the cash field.
Not sure why it did not give me issue when I tried it the first time but I need to fix it or remove the app
