Any Help?

That has to do with the execution order of the plugins, but I'm not sure what to change because I don't know how the Donation bar mod works in that respect.

I have a issue with the editor, it is way to big

Looks like there's something wrong with the dbtech_vbshout.css template. Try either reverting it, or import the product anew.
Ctrl+F5 might also work.

So far, this shoutbox is great. But is there any way to move that huge text box under the shoutbox in a single line? It looks really huge and ugly next to the shoutbox.

I selected "Under" on the settings, but nothing changes.

ditto on that too!

That's a Pro feature that accidentally got left in the Lite version.

That's currently not a feature, it's been requested before but it's not a huge priority due to the large number of people who would find it annoying.

Ok got it, thanks for the help!!

PatrickBo 03-31-2010 08:40 PM

Are there any plans to move the shout text area to underneath the actual shouts.. or will that remain an exclusive pro feature. I would love to use this shoutbox, as i have purchased the original infern shoutbox.. but having to pay for the shoutbox again, even though it is much improved, is not something i would be interested in at this time.

But i love you guys are back and i love the addons you have compiled so quickly. If it is possible to move the shout input area to underneath, you have yourself another install lol

Renjizzle 04-01-2010 10:48 PM

How can I move the placement of the shoutbox to be at the bottom of the forums, not the top?

DBTech vBShout v4 Lite is Brought to you by the Designer of acclaimed products such as RPG Inferno and Inferno vBShout and the programmer of RPG Integration v3.
I love how RPG Inferno is the claim to fame. Did they not vanish without a trace? I sent money to them to get the better version and special access to forums. They vanished and screwed us all.

This is a Pro feature, the option was accidentally left in the Lite version. This will be corrected in a future version :)

While DBTech is not related to Inferno Technologies in any way beyond sharing the same product designer, it's still a very well known modification that a lot of people were (and still are) quite happy with.

It's very unfortunate that you alledgedly had your payments taken and not received even a single version of the product you paid for, but it's sadly not a wrong we have the power to right.
We only meant to highlight that the person who designed RPG Inferno - which is probably why you wanted to buy it, because it was well designed, no? - is now back and designing DBTech products.

I know you have no reason to take my word for it, but even if DBTech stops making new products / updates, we will never take someone's money and close down the site without giving them the chance to download and/or request a refund :)
Especially considering I have my real name plastered all over the site - it would be unfortunate for my prospects of future employment in the IT business if a quick Google search revealed that I was a con artist, wouldn't you say? ;)

A little issue:

Can you add a own phrase for the word "to" because it makes no sense if I try to translate it to German.

After installing this shoutbox i got this error

Warning: require_once(DIR/dbtech/vbshout/includes/class_bootstrap.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/lmilmoe/public_html/forum/global.php on line 21

That error is produced from not uploading the files correctly.

Lingering error is due to the plugins still being left, so the product wasn't uninstalled properly.

If I want to have the shoutbox show on all forum pages, what do I have to type inside the box?

I have removed the "Index" from there, but then it appears on the home page, which is what im trying to avoid. I'm just uncertain what to place in the box to have the shoutbox appear on the rest of the forum.

Can anybody help?

davew 04-09-2010 01:52 PM

Would it be possible to announce new threads created by the RSS import please?

Did you try adding reply notifications for the rss bot forums? If that didn't.work, then I guess its not currently possible, but I'll look into it for.the future.

If you don't want it appearing on the front page automatically, you need to turn off the Auto Display feature and manually add the variable to the templates.you want it to appear in. There's no way of excluding certain pages from automatic display atm.

Micaiah 04-11-2010 12:18 AM

theres a couple of slight bugs on mine, the time isnt showing up its appearing as [{$time}] next to the shouts also its not updating or showin new posts unless a user clicks Active Users then back to the shoutbox :S

pablete 04-11-2010 01:00 AM

Works in 4.0.3 ???

DragonByte Tech 04-11-2010 01:18 AM

Should work fine with 4.0.3

DragonByte Tech 04-11-2010 06:41 PM

Small fix has been released for those who upgraded to vB 4.0.3.
Re-import the XML file to fix the bugs introduced by this vBulletin version.

SoltanWorld 04-11-2010 06:41 PM

I just installed it and it workd on my Vba too, just i want to remove time stamp and i have changed the editor position to above but still left side it is wat should i do ?

DragonByte Tech 04-11-2010 06:54 PM

That setting was never intended to show up in the Lite version.
It's something that can't be easily changed now that we're halfway through development of the next version, though. It will be fixed :)

Disregard that setting, it doesn't work in the Lite version.

SoltanWorld 04-11-2010 06:55 PM

hey Dragon plz solve my problem i'm on a kind of hurry!!!

DragonByte Tech 04-11-2010 07:01 PM

To remove the timestamp you need to edit the templates that end in _shout, _me, _system and _pm.

Fillip

robbiefritz 04-11-2010 10:52 PM

Update for 4.03. Thanks

DragonByte Tech 04-13-2010 10:59 AM

Yes it has been updated for 4.0.3.

Fillip

DaDarkDude 04-13-2010 03:22 PM

I'm having a problem making it appear on the forum. I've done everything your readme says, but for some odd reason, it wont show on my board.
I moved everything into the proper forum folders and I uploaded the xml file. Are there some plugins I'm missing or something...?

DragonByte Tech 04-13-2010 04:40 PM

You can check the Admin Help entry for the Auto Display option to see what you require for that option to work, and what you can do as an alternative.

Fillip

DaDarkDude 04-13-2010 07:02 PM

I'm having this problem with your vBShout and vBActivity. It's odd because everything else I install on the board works.
All I did was unpack the items, put everything in the forum folder and uploaded the xml.
Is there anything else...?
I've been trying for nearly an hour and a half to get it to work. I can't think what I'm missing.
I also have no idea what this 'admin help entry' or auto display option is.
Sorry for my newbiness, but I'd greatly appreciate it if you helped me. Your codes are exactly what I've been looking for everywhere!

DragonByte Tech 04-13-2010 07:34 PM

The Admin Help is the (?) icon to the right of the vBulletin Options settings.

What's your forum URL? If I can take a look, maybe I can find out what's wrong :)

Fillip

DaDarkDude 04-13-2010 07:40 PM

It just worked. Finally got it up! Thanks for the code! It's an awesome code = D

I don't know, it's not a tested feature.
The sidebar is way too small to support all the advanced features of this Shoutbox, anyway.

spoky29 04-15-2010 05:13 PM

Is it possible to have a sound when an new message arrive?
And how please?

Good work thanks for it

DragonByte Tech 04-15-2010 05:33 PM

That's not currently possible, and it's not a currently planned feature either. It's a feature that requires a very specific implementation so as to not become overly annoying to members on an active forum, yet still remaining useful.

It's something we're evaluating, though :)

Ok no problem so i will wait for that thanks

DragonByte Tech 04-18-2010 08:19 PM

v4.5.1 has been released.

The major changes for the Lite version are:
* Revised layout to make the Shoutbox take up less space
* New context menu for shout users
* Users can now start typing immediately after sending a shout without having it deleted once the shout was posted

Additionally, putting the Shoutbox in a custom location now works again.

PS: If you're looking for the usergroup permissions, this has moved to the "Instance Management" area.
