no one will ever update this add-on. Will someone please make a new one that works?

Valter 08-04-2010 05:20 PM

I'll update this soon even it works properly for me.

Largo .//npc 08-13-2010 06:52 AM

Now it's creating multiple threads too.
Think I'll have to uninstall it until it's fixed or a better one comes along. Shame.

WATRD 08-15-2010 03:07 PM

So far, this is working properly for me in the forum, however, I am set up so that new threads are announced in the VSa - ChatBox and that announcement seems to come from the first user to trigger VSa - Auto Birthday Greeter, NOT from the greeter, as expected.

GeorgeB85 08-15-2010 03:17 PM

ignore!

Valter 08-15-2010 08:00 PM

It will exclude members who has chosen to not show their birthdays, or are inactive, etc...

Check product settings.

GeorgeB85 08-15-2010 08:26 PM

My apologies Valter..I just went into admincp, and did notice that he choose not to show that information..

Valter 08-15-2010 08:30 PM

No problem.

We are just respecting members privacy. ;)

midnz 09-04-2010 11:26 PM

Disabled due to multiple threads created on vB4.0.6 :(
Weird ... it worked perfectly over the past few weeks up until yesterday.

Valter 09-06-2010 11:07 AM

Thanks so much for fixing this ...

Re-installed and testing under 4.04 ...

Seems to be working so far and only one message appeared at this point for a member with a birthday today. We'll watch and see if any more of the same show up ...

Regards,
Badger

Benedicte 09-06-2010 11:53 AM

I will try this :)

Veer 09-06-2010 04:06 PM

Thanks for the update.

grahamsmythe 09-06-2010 04:37 PM

Hooray. I think this update works.

-=Leb=- 09-06-2010 05:18 PM

KEKforce 09-07-2010 05:13 AM

Strange... I have a Dutch translated forum. The greeting was always in dutch... But now All english... When I look in the controlpanel at ABG then I see al my dutch translations...

Is this a new bug?

grahamsmythe 09-07-2010 06:30 AM

Unfortunately it's still producing multiple threads for the same events.

Looks like I'm going to have to uninstall it again.

Such a shame, as I was looking forward to get this going again.

Zant 09-07-2010 07:55 PM

It's still posting a day early.

For someone who's birthday is on September 8th it just posted a thread at 10:21 PM GMT stating his birthday is September 7th.

-=Leb=- 09-07-2010 10:31 PM

On my forum it dosen't post at all.

I have the same problem with the new version ... :(

Two members birthdays are on Sept 8th and it posted Happy Birthday notices at 3:43pm on September 7th, the day before ....

I as hoping this latest update would fix the issue with this mod as there isn't anything else like it under vb4.

Regards,
Badger

A member birthday today but no thread has been created.

I am using 4.0.5

BadgerDog 09-10-2010 10:37 AM

Update:

Have a member's birthday today, Sept 10th ...

The post automatically placed in the forum we specified was added with a date yesterday (1 member is celebrating their birthday on 09-09-2010) with a time of 2:50 pm...

I don't remember seeing that post in that forum last night, so I'm beginning to wonder if the mod automatically put it there just after midnight today as it should have, however, it tagged it with the wrong date and time on the post itself? In other words, it's recognizing that it should put this member's birthday notice in the forum on today's date, but when it carries out the posting action it's using yesterday's date and some arbitrary time, which I haven't figured out where it's getting that information from.

Hope this helps Valter figure out what's happening with this recent version.

Regards,
Badger

vB4.0.6
Updated to version 2.0.4 but the multiple threads are still occurring and so I've disabled once more.

spillage 09-11-2010 07:12 PM

vB4.0.4 w/2.0.4... single posts, but it posts a half day early with the wrong date.

BadgerDog 09-12-2010 10:19 AM

Update ..

For some reason, it's now started double posting again. Same birthdays, duplicated within an hour of each other ....

Have temporarily disabled it ..

Regards,
Badger

ktaylor 09-13-2010 06:35 AM

Hi Valter,

Could you tell me what the difference is between the message and message (pl) phrases?

Thanks!

spillage 09-14-2010 02:00 AM

I got three days of single posts, but today I started the multiple post routine again.

Once again disabled until the issue IS fixed. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2010/09/3.gif

Hopefully multiple threads bug is gone forever now.

ardseidel 09-15-2010 10:09 PM

What ever happened to the time-offset option? This is posting threads the day before at approx 1130pm and the birthday dates are being stated as that day which is indeed incorrect.

voglermc 09-15-2010 10:10 PM

Yes lets get that fixed ASAP!

That continues to be a show stopper ....

We get lots of members thanking us for posting their birthdays, but they all say it's a day too soon... :D

Regards,
Badger

Edit: Tested new version and it appears double posts are gone, but the mod is still posting members birthdays a day earlier than they actually are. Have disabled it again until this issue can be resolved. Thanks ...

Same issue here!

Footman 09-23-2010 12:17 PM

A members BDay is today, but no thread has been produced. His settings are to Display age and full date of birth.

I'm running vB 4.0.7 if it matters.

Any thoughts?

Valter 09-23-2010 08:01 PM

v2.0.6 - Sep 23 2010.

Had to turn it OFF again ... :(

Thanks for the attempt to fix it, but it's still posting members birthdays a day early .. ;)

See pic ... these two members birthdays are actually tomorrow, Sept 25th, not today Sept 24th ...

Regards,
Badger

Mine just kicked in 4 hours early (@20:00). The post had the date as 9/25 not the correct date of 9/26. My server is at GMT -5. Maybe there needs to be a GMT offset setting in the control panel options.

All times are GMT. The time now is 07:43 PM.
