At the moment I can't use this modification.

The reason is, after setting the limit of posts to 50 for the forum i need it for, yes it will stop users from going into the forum and it also doesn't show the last Thread in there.

But when a guest or a user with under 50 posts, clicks on the 'What's New' tab, the threads for the 50 limit forum still show, even though they can't click and read the whole Thread they can still see the name of the Thread and hover over it to see part of it.

Am i missing a permission set up in the modification or is the right and a fault with the modification?

New Joe 02-03-2011 05:43 AM

Can anyone who is using this mod, please test it out as a guest on your forum by clicking the 'What's New' tab and as a user with under the limit of post count for the forum you are using it with and report back.

And let me know if i am right or what i am doing wrong.
thanks

^ How about what I asked, does the same happen to you, or have i missed something when setting it up?

Breixo 02-04-2011 09:07 PM

What about adding the feature "minimum post count to create a poll"?

zacs2k 02-05-2011 08:37 PM

Is there a way to change the text on the forum home from reading "no permission to view..." to what I want it to say like "you must register to view this section"

Not a lot of support on this Mod.

I can not use it until the problem I posted about is fixed.
Even though a Thread is in a forum with say a 50 post limit, the Thread still shows on 'What's New' to members under 50 posts.

Hope the support and fix will come along soon.

Me too. But I can edit the settings for each forum individually. Pain, but seems to work.

Not working on 4.1.4

Valter 06-12-2011 11:42 AM

Works fine here on 4.1.4.

What problems you have with it?

Welshy2008 06-14-2011 01:58 PM

I have marked as installed, rated and Nominated.

Could you tell me if it is possible and if you plane on extending the "can't post link and images" to the signature too please?

Thanks for another fanstic Mod. :D

Minimum post count user must have to be able to post links and images
This permission is two in one, which reduces flexibility.

Situation: On my forum, I need to allow pictures, and disallow links.

Suggested improvement: Allow each of those permissions to be controlled independently.

MySaltyreef 07-09-2011 06:48 PM

awesome hack thanks

Can someone help me?

I am having trouble creating new post/thread via vbulletin mobile android app that I created using vbulletin mobile suite. I noticed this plugin is causing the problem.

Can you help to teach me how to add the code below?

Code:

if (!VB_API)
                {
insert plugin code here
}

But how to insert and where?

blackhost 08-07-2011 03:02 PM

I would like to change the size and color of the default text message that denys viewing of links, images or attachments. How is this done?

Apolo. 08-24-2011 11:32 PM

Hi,

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm using Cyb - Advanced Permissions Based on Post Count for vBulletin 3.8 and I'm about to upgrade to vBulletin version 4.1.

Please let me know which steps I must follow in order to upgrade this plugin at the same time (to use the version compatible with 4.1) and keeping the configuration.

Thank you very much!

Fready 08-27-2011 06:04 AM

I still have my problem with the Threads still showing for users under the post count when using 'What's New' tab for search

imported_ideenwerk 09-28-2011 08:51 AM

Nearly perfect but the same problem here, all users can see the first sentences in 'Whats's New'. Have anyone a solution?

adambloch 10-06-2011 03:06 PM

This Modification is brilliant. We've had problems with basic user-promotions to set a minimum 25 post limit for posting in a particular section (users who've been members for months, with hundreds of posts being missed), this mod solved the problem immediately.

One thing would make it perfect for me: The ability to determine exclusion from the post-count criteria on a per-forum basis (just as you can specify the criteria on a per-forum basis), rather than forum-wide in the general settings. This thing would seriously kick ass with that flexibility.

...OK, I'd also like to hack a donate link into the insufficient count dialogue, but I think I can manage that one :)

Thanks for a great mod!

ellinofatsa 10-11-2011 08:14 AM

nice hack

etca 10-17-2011 08:16 PM

works on my forum. 4.1.7. thx

microlight 10-19-2011 10:46 AM

Can I use this mod to disable someones ability to post once their monthly post limit has been reached?

I have a troll on my forum who can be useful at times but he posts constantly and winds people up. I would like to be able to limit his input to 100 posts per month.

meeja 10-21-2011 02:09 PM

An odd bug has just happened after we upgraded vb to 4.1.6

We don't allow users to start a thread until they get to 100 posts. Which now means that when a user (with less than 100 posts) reports a comment on the forum it actually gets sent to the mods by email instead of starting a thread in the reports forum which is the vb setting we have. The mods are getting a bit annoyed at this.

When this mod is disabled, the issue doesn't occur. And it happens when the mod isn't limiting by post count (we checked as we were use this pluging to limit the number of posts but moved it to usergroup permissions in testing).

So it's definitely this mod. Just wondering if there's a fix/way around it?

You could set up an exception on the forum where "reported posts" thread are being created I guess.

Just go to the mod settings page.
Click on "For Individual Forums"
Then edit the forum where the reported posts threads are being made.
And set the required post count in there to 0.

Hey there, we have done already. But when this mod is active it sends the report by anyone <100 posts by email, but not when this mod is active.

Would really love some support in fixing this, that I'd happily pay the developer for by donation or whatever.

Has anyone modified this to only restrict downloading attachments in specific forums?
