Hi Sorky,

First of all I'd like to thank you for making this mod. It has made my forum listing so much nicer. My members are loving it.

Anyways, I'd just like to ask you if there was a way to disable this mod based on style? I'm having trouble with this on the mobile style that vBulletin 4.1.2 offered. Any help you can provide would be very appreciated. :)

Unfortunately there is no way currently - probably not too difficult but I do not have a test system running at the moment.

Sorky I can give you access to a test website I utilize if need be. :) Let me know please. I really need to get this working, but I also need the mobile style to work properly.

I've done a quick test on 3.8 with the mobile display, but I can't see the problem [no change]... if you can PM me details on the test system I'll take a look.

PS: I've looked into the code changes and it looks doable

blankpage 03-24-2011 06:28 PM

will it work for vB 4.1 ?

iMaverick 04-07-2011 06:49 PM

Hey, what do I mess around (hopefully on this, but otherwise in templates) to edit/shrink the aread under at the bottom of the threads (they look too damn tall right now).

cash7c3 06-01-2011 12:57 PM

Hey there - any way to disable this PER style? It messes up our mobile style, but looks good on the desktop version.

As I answered someone below... I've done a quick test on 3.8 with the mobile display, but I can't see the problem [no change]... if you can PM me details on a test system I'll take a look.

PS: I've looked into the code changes and it looks like I can do it but as I can't see any difference on my test system, I can't be sure

cash7c3 06-01-2011 01:18 PM

Seems you've got PM's disabled here.

I am trying to disable the plugin only for our mobile style.

As you can see in this screenshot:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/06/64.png

The table doesn't flow at all in the mobile theme, which uses <li>s, and rather than attempt to match it on the desktop and mobile version, it'd be awesome if I could just tell the subforum plugin NOT to apply when users are on that style.

Can you help?

cash7c3 06-01-2011 05:05 PM

(this is in vB4, btw)

I'm assuming there's a PHP call I can make in the product somewhere to tell it not to apply in a certain skin, but I'm not sure where.

Sorky 06-02-2011 09:25 AM

As I'm currently unregistered (vBulletin was owned by my last employer) it seems my mailbox size is ZERO and that must be why I don;t get PMs... I've enabled user email, so you can send me your site details that way.

I have installed forum category icon hack and I have my personal category icons. When I enable your hack, the icon that I put dissapears for default icon, you can see here:

With the hack disabled:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

With the hack enabled:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Also, i don't like when you put to separate subforums in 3 colums for example, there is a very big separation between subforum links, this:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

I would like to have no separation, like the default format. It's possible?

I've never tried that Mod... Probably the simplest thing to try is to go into the Plug In Manager and change the order in which the plugins work - see how it goes making my plugin earlier or later, or making the other one earlier or later.

solohdes 06-20-2011 12:24 PM

Earlier or later? I do not know what you mean exactly. And the second cuestion? Can you see it?

Lower or higher number makes them run before or after [controls their order].

Would be quite easy, but the likelihood I would add that function is LOW... The likelihood of me adding that function for you is EVEN LOWER!

tonjohn 09-14-2011 11:16 PM

Sorky,

Your plugin has been a god send for us at forums.steampowered.com!

We are planning to migrate to vb4 soon and plan to use this plugin once again to manage our subforums. However, I have a few requests.

Can you alphabetically sort:
- category views; ex/ D - G
- the forum drowns in the various moderator tools; ex/ move thread

Thank you all your efforts and the awesome plugins!
-Burton

I see here why you like the Mod!

Not quite sure what you are asking though... For the D-G list, there are only a couple of forums/categories with sub-forums - Which one(s) need changes?

tonjohn 09-16-2011 10:06 PM

haha, yes - it has come in handy ;)

If you click on the link in my previous post, you'll see that the forums aren't automatically sorted by your plugin (any that are are done so manually).

I don't sort the actual forum list - my plugin only does the "sub-forums" section.. Even though they are seem to be sorted when shown at the level above, I only sort the display, I don't actually change the order.

avaare 10-08-2011 03:04 PM

didn't work with 4.1.7

monkeyboy1916 10-09-2011 08:53 PM

I agree with the person above me. It doesn't function properly on vB 4.1.7.

bigrover 10-11-2011 01:11 AM

I've also noticed it doesn't work now that I upgraded my test site to 4.1.7. The problem is all the subforums are grouped in one column. If I have the mod configured for 3 columns then everything is listed in the first third of the available space. It is also not formatted in any way, just a continuous list of forums.

I've already disabled all the other mods and am now going to rebuild a default style sheet and see if that helps. Otherwise I'm hosed and will have to disable the mod. I really hope that won't be necessary.

I've enjoyed the results of this mod for some time and hope it continues in future versions as well.

I have installed the SubForum List control in a test environment and I got it running. Now when installing it in the real environment it looks like this with all the subforums crammed together:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/11/17.jpg
I have it set for three columns. I have gone through all settings and I can se no difference compared to my test environment.

The only difference is that the test environment was vB 4.1.6 and the real environment is vB4.1.7.

I would really appreciate some help. Really like this plugin.

Kyo-dono 10-18-2011 06:35 AM

I love this addon. Thanks for this great piece of code. Is the problem with version 4.1.7 still available?

dallibose 10-21-2011 02:05 PM

I am trying to get this to work but I am finding a little hard to sort out..this is how i want it to be displayed.

Subforums:

Subforum A
--------- 1 child Subforum A
------- 1 grand child of Subforum A
------- 2 grand child of Subforum A

--------- 2 child sub forum A
------- 1 grand child of sub forum A

Basically it's like this figure..how do i get it to show in this order..

chriske 11-09-2011 02:42 PM

Just installed 4.1.7 and the subforums are displayed like the standard vbulletin again :(

If this mod could be updated I would be in ecstasy :D

It actually screws up the look of my 4.1.7 forums, like there's an unclosed div or something in the addon.

HHelp1 11-11-2011 12:11 AM

This will organize forum! THANKS DUDE!

c0mm 11-21-2011 02:07 AM

I am also facing the same problem, columns are not working at all. Running 4.1.8

Kyo-dono 11-23-2011 07:10 AM

One of the best addons. :)
Can anybody help to running it with 4.1.8?

Gripi 12-12-2011 07:41 PM

same with kyo.. no support for 4.1.8 ??

Sorky 12-12-2011 09:13 PM

Sorry folks - I changed jobs and I no longer have a vBulletin license... I'm now "unlicensed" and as such I don't have access to the code and a site to test it on.

I'm happy to take a look at someone's test site if they'd like.

Killhunter 01-04-2012 09:54 AM

So finally, i installed this mod, enabled it and write the forum-ids in it, but nothing changed @vBulletin 4.0.3? Is there any tutorial?
