Vbulletin 4.1.12 patch 1 --> work in FF, work in Google Chrome but not working in IE :mad:

I know of an easy fix for the above post.

nice Answer, but i never force my Users to use FF or Chrome.

The Fix with the new js is not Working.

IE has many problems, even vB don't really support it nowadays.
I don't see why anyone would still want to use it anyway, but I guess they do.
Have you asked them if they'd use it?
I know my community would listen to me if I asked and told them why.
Until then, looks like we'll have to wait for a fix.

This is not showing up for me. Using vb 4.2.0 custom template

Disabled auto position, and manually inserted code in postbit_legacy.

The version 1.03 worked with my 4.2 pl3 default template. Perfect!

Dears, can someone help me with below (see screenshots)? Same issue if i set auto position or manual input.
1st appears on chrome, 2nd - On firefox.

For me it works properly but is very slow, why? when I Click it, Works after 3 to 5 seconds.

Been fine here. No notable delay. Disable all other mods and see if one is conflicting.

Not working on 4.2.1 here. See screenshot.

For some odd reason there is a question mark on top of the button. Both images appear to be working (regular and hover).

Also, it is in the wrong spot and completely messes up all of the other buttons. Other than the two button issues it works OK.

Any idea on how to fix this?

It looks like a style issue. Verify it's working in the default style?

It is default style.

Then it may be another mod interfering with it. You'll have to uninstall, or at least disable, all of them until you figure it out.

Also remember you must read a mod's entire thread before installing it. Since my last answer I've apparently caught you not doing that, and complaining at the outcome.

I'm aware of that. All other hacks are disabled. Same question mark still showing up over the button.

BTW, I'm not concerned that the button is in the wrong place. I'll manually move it. The issue is the question mark appearing above the button. If anyone else can help us diagnose this we'd appreciate it :)

#bubble5 - I haven't used this so I am not sure I have any real insight, but check to see if you are having javascript errors. If your using the default style, that is the only thing that comes to mind. Hope that helps :)

Thanks tbworld, That's what I was thinking too. Like the button can't see something. But there are definitely no other issues with the forum, so I don't see how it can't be a hack issue. Maybe someone over at vB.com can shed some light on this. Thanks for trying :up:

Go into development mode in your browser (I prefer firefox for this but google chrome works fine). Run the page and check for browser errors. If you have never done this, then it will be a big step forward for you. If you have, then maybe this explanation will help someone else. It is pretty hard to run a board without being able to debug JavaScript. Unless of course you never add anything to the default product. Then vb works out of the box most of the time :)

I will look this over hopefully in the next couple of days. I can always get called away on a business trip. The concept is a pretty simple idea, but lots of things can go wrong. I could use something like this on my daughters board.

Thanks again tbworld. When you mentioned using another browser it made me wonder what it would look like on my phone. When I looked at it I saw that for some reason the hack is trying to display two of the same button, one on top of the other. I'll try and post a screenshot of it later.

So at least now I know more than I did before. I'll try it on firefox too.

Here is a screenshot. I re-named the button from the hack "Auto Quote" and the regular quote button "Manual Quote". You can clearly see two copies of Auto Quote in the screenshot. Now I just need to find out why.

OK I think using tbworld's suggestion I have been able to find the problem (THANKS again tbworld :up: ).

The error console is saying that an image is missing, yet no image was provided with the download. It is called trans_40b.png.

Install it to your buttons folder and you should be golden.

Other than the 'new line' feature not working, everything else is fine on 4.2.1.

If anybody else is getting that error. This is what you do.
You do not have to edit any templates. Unless you don't like the positioning of where the button is placed.
Example of where to put it, if you're planning on changing the position.

Next, download the file that I uploaded & copy that into your ftp here: /images/buttons
Add that attached file inside the folder 'buttons'.
