Hi, I've been testing the comments facility but the comments won't show up, just the words 'No comment' on every one, with no corresponding posts being made in the relevant forum. Probably something I've missed again. :(

Just noticed that the image that is supposed to be posted with the corresponding forum thread isn't there. Not sure why. The thread is being posted once a download has been added, just with the image missing.

Hi Andrew,
We just upgraded our site to 4.0.1. We have the latest version of the download module.

It works fine with Firefox , however, when we use IE or Chrome, we get a database error. You can view this here.

I'm reading that some gals are having issues with 3.5.7 of Firefox as well.

Ophelia 01-19-2010 12:59 PM

The database error that is reported to me is:

Quote:

Database error in vBulletin 4.0.1:

Invalid SQL:

SELECT linkid, COUNT(linkid) AS linkhits
FROM local_linksdownloads
WHERE usertime>=1261320788

AND link.linkdate <= 1263912788

GROUP BY linkid
ORDER BY linkhits DESC

LIMIT 10;

One further update.. this is not happening to admin. Only members.

Figured it out. Those who can view hidden files don't get the error. Those who can't get the database error. I'm going to take out all the hidden files for now, but can you look into this? :)

Looking at the set up form.. it seems to be missing the ability to schedule as well.

angeljs 01-19-2010 07:30 PM

Hi, just to ask where the stats for each member is to show up in their profiles as I'm not seeing anything. :(

obmob 01-19-2010 11:05 PM

My... this vB CMS is a mess, in the end I guess I won't make a lot of use of it, and it sabotages vbAdvanced, if you install vbA, then the forum sidebar is disabled aoutomatically, even if the vBCMS is active >.>

Of course, LDM's modules for the new vBA 4 Beta are broken u.u

andymorris1973 01-20-2010 12:54 PM

I get this message when i try and add an entry

Code:

Upload error - configuration problem - unable to create a user subdirectory on server
Any idea's?

Just to let everyone know - I haven't forgotten you, but it's taking some time to get an internet connection in our new house, so I am forced to go 'cold turkey' for a while and rely on occasional cafe connections.

take your time, we are not going anywhere XD

How can I change the location of the navbar link. I edited both of the "add LDM to main vBulletin menu" plugins and changed the template_hook to middle instead of right. That works fine on the forums and every other page but once I click on the links / download section the location of that tab in the navbar moves to the end again while I am in that section. Then once I go back to a page outside of LDM everything is fine again.

I'm sure I missed a template_hook call somewhere but can't find where?

Thanks!

Ophelia 01-24-2010 02:51 AM

Issues with the 4.0.1 upgrade of vB and your software.

We are no longer able to upload just one file at a time. When you click add entry, it gives us 10 spots to fill out.

We are no longer able to upload a zip file. There is no browse button.

We are no longer able to upload a jpg file. There is no browse button.

We are no longer able to change a scheduled product to today's date instead.

Trek 01-24-2010 04:57 AM

Just installed this... holy hell... this is easily the most comprehensive mod I've seen for vB. Works flawlessly and you can pretty much change anything. The number of options can be a bit daunting at first, but... damn you can do anything you want.

I've tried some of the other products that are supposed to do this, but they are so far behind it's not possible for me to express it.

Thank you for writing and releasing this... very cool stuff!

5 stars, nominated!

JWL 01-24-2010 02:59 PM

When I run VB Admin> Maintinance > Diagnostics > Suspect File Versions

I get

PHP Code:

WarningInvalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/MyAdmincp/diagnostic.php on line 393

dinozz 01-24-2010 03:29 PM

I used vbulletin 4.01 and LDM 3.01
I've this problem: every time that an user downloads a file the thumbnails disappear!

The only solution at the moment is to enter in the admin section and:

a) go to ldm/admin/settings
b) set thumbs_dir to blank
c) in the left column, find the line 'thumbnail images' and click on the link.

After all this the thumbnails appear again.
How can I do to fix the problem without going to ldm/admin/settings???

Thanks in advance

You have to make changes in three places:

a) to control the location while in LDM - edit includes/local_links_include.php, find function ldm_fetch_navbar_template() and edit the template_hook assignment;

b) ditto to control the location while in other parts of vbulletin - go to the vb/admincp/products and plugins and edit the plugin "Links and Downloads Manager - Add LDM to main vBulletin menu" attached to the process_templates_complete hook, and make the same change

c) ditto to control the location while in error messages, as per b) but edit the plugin attached to the error_nopermission hook.

I'll see if there's a better way to specify this as a single configuration setting.

obmob 01-28-2010 02:01 PM

Oh, it wasn't a template edit, thanks Andrew :p

hi,

is it possible to expand the linklist???
So that all links of all categories are shown on one page, devieded only by the category title!

Means:

cateory 1
link
link
link

category 2
link
link

Thanks for help!

Andrew, thank you so much for your help. I could not find (a) for the life of me. It is appreciated!

I have not seen this problem before, and cannot think of a solution. Can I take a look at your site? I will need an account with vb admin privileges. Send me a PM if so.

Ophelia 01-31-2010 02:58 AM

Andrew, I posted earlier, but am posting again.

We are having issues with the install on our live forum. In the past we had the ability to pick how many uploads we wanted to at one time, we no longer have that. If we set it to 10 in admin, it gives us a form with 10 entries, instead of before where it asked us "how many do you want".

We no longer have browse buttons for .zip or .jpg files. We have to turn on off site linking and uploaded to the server then provide the URL manually. I installed the lastest version on a fresh install of vB4, and it too didn't have this functionality. What has changed and what do I need to change to get it working again?

We no longer have the ability to schedule the file to a future date. The date is hard coded and there is no way to change it.

I'd be happy to provide a test account to log in if you need it. Thanks!

Ophelia, sorry for the lack of response - as I've posted above, we're currently in the middle of a house/country move and have only a limited internet connection for the time being (via mobile telephone, pre-3G).

Looking at your issues:
a) the lack of a dialogue box for 'add multiple entries' was a temporary fix in LDM 3.0.0 and .1, while I figured out how to get the box to appear correctly in the css-oriented approach used by vb for the navbar. I've now got that figured out and the old behaviour will return in 3.0.2, which is close to being ready to launch.

b) The scheduling/date problem was caused by a bug in the new LDM template code and will be fixed in 3.0.2.

c) I'm confused by your .zip/.jpg report, which is presumably a consequence of the set of options you have selected. I will need to look at your site to get to the bottom of this. Please send a PM.

This is not currently an option. However, you can group entries in a single category into different subgroups, by using different 'display orders' (all the entries with display order 1 will be grouped together, then all with 2, etc. You can then give the subgroup titles by using the "cat_entry_dseq_titles" LDM admin setting.

I took a look at your site. Your problem is caused by a change in the behaviour of one of the standard vbulletin php functions in the latest release. I will provide a fix in LDM 3.0.2. In the meantime, you can work round the problem by leaving the LDM admin setting 'thumbs_dir' blank.

dinozz 01-31-2010 06:58 AM

very thanks
now i wait for LDM 3.02

Finally, I'm trying to go online with one site, unfortunately, things aren't going as smooth as I thought they might be, first, I can't show some icons, source code shows nothing. It seems those are vbulletin icons, but somehow there is no source that points to any image file.

Then, the images that belong to each entry are not shown at all.

Hope someone can help me figure what is wrong so far.
Thanks! :D

Attached a linkbit image.

You need to get your LDM icons directory (on your server) resynchronised with the contents of this directory on the release zip.

freexav 02-04-2010 10:48 AM

hey dude!
awesome mod!
however, as I have many social groups, I would like to know if it could be possible to make social group links and download page.
Then, each group could be able to upload and download documents together, from their group page. Would-it be possible also for each group to decide wether the documents they put online are visible to the group only or to any member.

Best!
keep up the good work!

OMG... in other words, please

EDIT: I reinstalled imagemagick and now images generated by ldm are shown, but not those lost icons, still, no source is shown in the html code x.x

Andrew, can you help me? I searched the wiki for something like you said, and can't find a thing. :(

This is how my code shows some icons:

Code:

Sorry, I was probably being a bit obscure.

Take a look at LDM/admin/settings, at the file_icons_dir setting. The default in this version of LDM should be images/ldm-silk-icons/, which is not the same as with the previous version. Also check that this directory contains about 63 icons - if not, upload them from the release file.
