I just wanted to say thank you for such a great mod. I run a Vinylmation (Disney's vinyl toy) website and forum, and actually tweaked this mod up a little bit to have users display their favorite figure rather than their country. All it was was changing a few words and voila. The potential is far greater than simply showing countries. Fantastic job!

Hey, thanks for the hack!

I plan to use it. The flags included don't really match the esthetic of my site. But I have a set of flags from FAMFAMFAM, (they are free). They can be downloaded here:

I'll have to go through and rename all the files to match your script, but I think I'll do it.

There are many flag icon sets out there, and easy to find. Round ones, glossy/gel button ones. Big ones. Small ones.

Note to others:

The terrific thing is, Jamie's script works with any set, so longs as your list in your custom menu matches the file names of the images in your folder.

On a side note: I realized after the fact that Jamie used ".GIF" and mine were lower case ".gif" so it initially gave me a broken link, but it was a simple fix to make the code lower case... easier than changing them to uppercase on all my file names. As a consequence, it would be just as easy to use PNGs or JPGs, and just change the suffix in the code.

PS. I really have to hand it to Welshy2008 / Jamie, it's a very flexible script. Simple, easy to customize and could be repurposed for so many things. Kudos. Voted: 5 stars.

Please see the quotes, that I have quoted above. It appears that there is a known bug with firefox that does that to animated images.

Again, That is a Firefox Bug. It shows perfectly, and how it should do, in Internet Explorer.

Nope; They haven't, as I use Firefox 3.6. :( (And my screenshots in my post 2 above this are from my FF 3.6).

hrmmm not sure why it does it with your GIF's maybe the way you saved your GIF images because i have gone on animated GIF sites and they do load fine.... so not sure why FF will be displaying them like that...

No Worries i found out the problem but i dont know all the countries, if anyone has had the same problem as me go to the flags folder and you see where it says flag_au.GIF change that to Australia.GIF and the flag_uk.GIF change that to UK.GIF and the same to the rest that you think are important unless you know all the codes.

I know some of you guys also having the same problem i have uploaded a zip with ones i have edited so you can just upload this zip to flag folder and un-zip it..

Hello guys and gals, i know you have been having the same problem as i had, and i thought as i use most Mods available i like i thought i could re-pay you back by this Reply..

I took my time and changed all the names of the flags images so that you can just upload these Zips instead and follow the developers Installation and your Flags will and should work fully without modifaction to the Flag Names...

Save you some time..

Please note, i take no credit for this, just would like a small thank you for my time... After im off to bed but ill stay online on here like always..

PS: remove Nicaraqua.GIF and upload Nicaragua.GIF or just upload and leave it as it wont be used anyway.

Right if you uploaded my Zips instead and extracted them all into the flags file and you installed the way the developer has told us, then open AdminCP > User Profile Feilds and where Norway is put Not Telling under it and save it and when they click on the flags and see Not Telling and click and save it it will show up the Not Telling Flag.

Just add it with a Blank option. When your user selects that - Nothing (not even the 'Country' text) should show.
