Hopefully this bug will be solved :).

wcguy 04-22-2010 06:04 PM

looks like a good mod. I'm marking this to download as soon as the bug is fixed.

Thanks BBR for the good work!

TripleChin 05-21-2010 11:45 AM

I too am having the same issues since I did the update to 4.0.3, which renders this mod disabled until this bug can be resolved.

I like the mod and look forward to a solution.

dianna 05-23-2010 07:00 PM

Is there a way to pick where I want the welcome thread to show up like instead of chit chat have it in my welcome are also for the thread not to be closed?

sticky 05-25-2010 02:30 PM

I have it set to not create a thread before e-mail activation but it is creating threads with the username "unregistered" anyway.

Any idea why?

sticky 05-27-2010 12:45 PM

Would setting this to create the thread without waiting for e-mail verification alleviate the issue of the mod created threads titled welcome "unregistered" ?

GeorgeB85 05-28-2010 03:42 AM

Would be awesome if this mod would link the username to the users profile!

Can anyone give an update on this problem.. ?

GeorgeB85 05-31-2010 01:44 PM

Has anyone been experiencing this mod not working recently? I have noticed for the last couple of sign ups, this mod isn't producing the automatic thread?

Rene Kriest 06-02-2010 04:03 AM

After installing under vb 4.0.3 I noticed that the addon opened randomly 3 to 4 threads to the same new member. One thread stated the new member's correct nick name ("Hello username!") while the other threads where opened different ("Hello Unregistered").

This is a pitty. I hope this addon gets an overhaul soon so that I can reinstall it.

thrylos 06-17-2010 06:19 PM

is there an option of making new post in an existing thread, instead of making a new thread?

if you could provide this option also, it'd be great! :)

I changed it to not use e-mail activation and it works fine.

This has happened since the first time this mod was here for vb4. I have it tagged hoping to see it get this resolved without template editing this and that and so on.

LoveStream 06-21-2010 04:42 PM

Hi, coder.

Your idea is brilliant but I did NOT get any username link by using BBcode.
Do you know this is a flaw? I have been waiting long time if this would fixed.

Thank you.

goran424 07-02-2010 04:51 PM

Great idea but just doesn't work the way it should, too many bugs and issues.
Still, appreciate coder's hard work.

UNINSTALLED

GeorgeB85 07-07-2010 02:07 AM

Does this not work with 4.0.4? It hasn't been for me.

Peter_AUS 07-09-2010 06:07 AM

Did not work for my install of 4.0.4 either, so uninstalled it, looking for one that does.

Hello

I have a question,my English is not so good,is it posible that more different postings from different team userĀ“s be transformed in one treat?
like postings in the same treat as the Answer.
for example
user 1 posting 1
user 2 posting 2
user 3 posting 3
Thx

GeorgeB85 07-20-2010 04:04 AM

For some reason this is not posting threads when a new user joins my forum.

Peter_AUS 07-20-2010 04:22 AM

I have tried it now several times, and doesn't work for me, now using vbulletin 4.0.5 version.

GeorgeB85 07-20-2010 04:54 PM

Is there going to be a fix anytime soon? I looked, and I havent found another mod for this yet.

GeorgeB85 08-08-2010 06:38 PM

Can someone please fix this....this mod was really nice on my site.

pantani 08-10-2010 07:59 AM

nice one, will test this and wil come back to mark as installed :)

gollo 08-13-2010 10:42 AM

Is it possible to add a field like Biography from profil in the thread?
There is $username only

caciocode 08-17-2010 08:03 PM

Might be useful later, Tagged.

BBR-APBT 08-19-2010 12:25 AM

I have not upgraded in some while when I do I will upgrade it. I am still on 4.0.2 Sorry, I just do not have the time to keep up with vb and all there changes and bugs.

dianna 09-09-2010 03:04 PM

Is there any way to not have the threads closed? I like this feature on my site but would like to have other members to be able to comment on that welcome thread as well!

tattooz 09-15-2010 03:11 PM

Does this mod work for 4.0.6??

It has the option to include the introduction if you make the extra profile field.
Then a few days after I am going to add the option to pm the member of the new thread.

I have been waiting for something like this for a long time. Do you plan on releasing it in the near future?
Great work!

CharlieDelta 10-17-2010 02:14 AM

Bump

GeorgeB85 10-17-2010 12:37 PM

This does not work with 4.0.7

BBR-APBT 10-19-2010 02:07 AM

I will update for 4.1 I feel most of the bugs will be pushed out of vb by then and I can make this work properly.

That is your right, but to be honest, if VB sticks with what they said on the release of 4.0, where anyone who wants 4.1 has to repay the licensing fees, I don't think many will. They shoved 4.0 out within just a few months of releasing it, and a lot of people run free boards, with no income from them.

However, like I said, it is your right.

You will not have to repay for 4.1.

If you payed for 4.x you will have VB up until vb 5.x.

You are entitled to any thing they release 4.1.0, 4.1.6, 4.2.x, 4.3.x.

Trust me I am not spending any more money with VB, unless they make a hell of a turn around. I do have to admit it is getting better. I want a copy of that other software and I might just like that way better. who knows I never tried it yet.

P.S. I also run a free board and pay for everything and I run no ads as I hate them.

That is right. My apologies, wasn't thinking for a second.

What other software were you referring to?

Yeah, it is getting a bit better.

Kolektor 12-05-2010 01:34 AM

by looking on the codes, this will likely will work on 3.8 version.

Just wondering if you were still planning to update this wonderful mod for 4.1?

BBR-APBT 12-29-2010 10:40 PM

yup I wish vBulletin would stop releasing so fast and release a nice version with more then 90 bugs fixed. now with 4.1.1 and all the template changes. it's making lots of work for us coders.

working on upgrading my site this weekend if I have time.

I really do sympathize on how poorly IB has been developing vBulletin

I know A LOT here will not be quick to update to 4.1.1. So I really hope you still update for 4.1 its self.

I know it seems like a lot of us here only post to complain about how our mods are not working or request for features to be added.

So I guess I just want to say, thanks for all your hard work. It's not an easy job you undertake, but there are those of us who really do appreciate the work you and others here put into things. :)
