You don't need this for 4.2

vB built in a navigation manager found in ACP.

ACP->Setting->Navigation Manager.

From there click on forum so it expands.

Then select add link from the drop down next to quick links and add the following:

Title: My Posts
Target URL: search.php?do=finduser&userid={userinfo.userid }&contenttype=vBForum_Post &showposts=1

Then select active and save.

Do the same for:

Title: My Threads
Target URL: search.php?do=finduser&userid={userinfo.userid}&st arteronly=1&contenttype=vBForu m_Thread

To hide these links from guests add "member" in the box 'Show Permission Name'.
(thanks Fleiding)

Fleiding 05-31-2012 10:09 AM

If you want to hide these links for guests, you'll have to fill in "member" in the box 'Show Permission Name'. :)

If that's supposed to be a question nobody's going to answer it because it would clearly indicate you haven't bothered to read back a bit where multiple people are discussing 4.2.

Yup, nobody except Videx is going to answer it and point you at the right direction (kinda) ;)

Permissions may have to be added so these links don't show for guests. I will look into that when I have time. :)

To change the order just adjust the display order numbers.

Cool, but the "My Tread" button links you to threads you've posted in, it seems redundant right next to the "My Posts" button, I think it would be better if it showed only the threads started by that poster.

I see, it's a typo, he typed the same link for both buttons, this is the "My Threads" link, search.php?do=finduser&userid={userinfo.userid}&co ntenttype=vBForum_Post&starter only=1

LOL I did this weeks ago and one of my posters just pointed out tfact that it says "My Treads" in the nav-bar, the "H" is missing from the word "Threads" any idea how I can fix this ?

Nevermind, I figured it out, it's a good thing that I'm a good dancer, because I'm not too smart.

You should really think about future searchers when you solve an issue like this, and describe the problem and the solution. Although it may seem simple to you in hindsight, that won't be the case with the next person looking for a solution.

Geoff_M 07-20-2012 05:13 AM

Sorry here is the corrected link...

Code:

search.php?do=finduser&userid={userinfo.userid}&starteronly=1&contenttype=vBForum_Thread
I must have had a copy pasting error...

Fixed my post, thank you for notifying me!

This has stopped working after upgrading to 4.2.1.
userinfo.userid is not returning a number.
Any thoughts?

Replace with {bbuserinfo.userid}

Example

My Threads
search.php?do=finduser&userid={bbuserinfo.user id}&contenttype=vBForum_Post&showposts=1

My Posts
search.php?do=finduser&userid={bbuserinfo.user id}&contenttype=vBForum_Post&showposts=1

Nice - thanks :)

K!nG 08-04-2013 08:10 PM

By following above i was able to add my posts & my threads in quick links drop down menu. However when i click on "My threads" it showed threads in order "by last post date" instead of date when threads were created.

Is there anyway i can set it up so it will show threads in order the date they were created not by the date when a user replied to them ??

Thanks for help in advance.

Amaury 09-13-2013 06:00 AM

This doesn't seem to be working in 4.2.1.

I get this message:
Quote:

It was working fine in 4.2.0.

crazyboy1661 09-14-2013 04:35 AM

Here is one that is coded for vB v4.2.x, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=302365

ozzy47 09-24-2013 08:09 PM

That file is not a part of this mod, and is stock in vBulletin.

To test if it is the mod do the following;

Open your config.php and below<?php add this line:

PHP Code:

 define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);

So it looks like this:
PHP Code:

<?php
define
('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);
/*=================================================  =====================*\
|| ##################################################  ################## ||
|| # vBulletin 4.2.1

Then see if you can access the ACP
