I've already started this migration, but its not an easy job as I've to rewrite many parts of the code.

Meanwhile I also got the email from vB about new pricing structure and I've to decide if I'll continue supporting vB. Jelsoft for a long time now is selling thanks to the wide range of free mods and styles. I've started feeling idiot for spending my valuable time just to make someone else richer. In a difficult financial period for all type of business worldwide, I do believe that its a shame to ask a big amount of money for something that still dosen't exists other than some screenshoots. No demo and most important. No ETA !!

Well, you don't have to pay a single cent. By geting money, I'm also geting responsibility to upgrade to v4, something that I'm not planing to do. After finish migration, I'll add the missing features that I've in the full version, plus some other users requests and I'll post it here for free. This should be my goodbye to vB community.

Hello,

I just released the full commercial version of microBUSINESS. As this version supports forums/threads per post (plus many more), is totally incompatible with version 1.0.1, so you need to uninstall version 1.0.1 before installing this one.

Please note that I'll continue supporting and upgrading microBUSINESS but only for vB series 3.x. I don't plan to continue supporting vB community after the release of vB4. As I wrote in my previous post, I don't agree with the new vB pricing and I don't plan to upgrade my licenses.

I'm not sure I follow, are you saying that Jelsoft is selling up or Jelsoft are selling Mods that you created for free.

Either way you must be pretty miffied

If you read carefully the thread https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=225182, you will realise that many people decided to buy vBulletin, as it has a plethora of free modules and styles. Even in my case, I've 8 clients who bought vBulletin just to use it with my microTRAVEL module.

So, Jelsoft somehow makes money from our work. And believe me we don't have anything in exchange. Not even a single free license, which is a must for most coders to use it in a testing domain. For this reason I bought a second license. Just for coding.

By increasing so much the price, its difficult for most coders and desigers to follow up the cost for upgrades.

And I agree your opinion about v4. You already discussed on your own previous forum that things were coming which would not be appreciated by many customers and you were right all the way!

I will stay with 3.x as long as possible and probably don't upgrade to v4.:(

By the way... I found a little typo in the announcement text up there:

Thank you so much for your supporting words:) Really appreciated. As for the typo... my bad English:D But regarding the copyright link, as long as I'm not planing to continue developing vB mods, it has no sense there, so you can remove it.

I'll continue developing Business mods, but using my own forum script. Sure not a vBulletin, but at least should works fine.

Hi Maria,

Is there any progress on trying to merge the items with the companies? We're trying to put your mod to use for a virtual world scenario, but with the current setup, it would require quite a bit of tweaking (which I am not sure you'd allow). It would end up in a product that resembles a business directory more than anything else, but that's exactly what we're looking for.

A merger of the item and company functionality would do the trick for us, and if you already did start working on it, I'd prefer waiting for that, rather than first having to dig into the code and then later on find my PHP programming is just not up to par.

Sorry, my earlier suggestion would destroy more than it would fix. Therefore I removed it.

Basically, I was trying to deal with the addedit_item template. The memberinfo box on the left positions itself to the top, while the table with information about the item due to cellpadding seems to sink a couple of pixels.

My initial approach removed the padding, but that ended up in the table looking like crap. I've tried various ways to try and solve it, but have not found an elegant solution yet that would NOT break the padding inside the table, and at the same time ensures the memberinfo table stays where it is positioned on the other pages as well.

I released the directory to my users yesterday, but it seems awfully clunky and slow for some reason. I did add the menubar to a few more pages and made a bunch of other alterations to customize things, but I cannot see how it could have made things this slow.

Anyone else having some kind of issue like that?

Come again? What exactly do you mean?

I've probably determined what causes the pain for me. I added the categories to the Profiles section as well, and rewrote the current JS GetHorizontalCategories method. (Just a copy from the existing one but pointing to the profiles table instead).

I'm starting to think maybe I also overdid things with sub sub sub categories etc, and the two combined are causing this.

Will keep everyone updated :)

The promised update: I edited out the counting, and the mod went blazing again. Then I undid the commenting from before, and it's still darn fast :cool:

I'm looking if I can add a small module for vBAdvanced. If I get anywhere with it, I'll add it here.

Found a bug. If I set the permissions to have more than 1 profile to no, I cannot edit my own profile. I'll get the message that I'm only allowed to have 1 profile.

This is caused by the add/edit functionality being the same, and the check being performed at a too early stage.

To solve this, edit business.php, and find the following (under add/edit profile):

Move the first piece of code right after the second piece of code. This ensures that the check for multiple profiles will only occur after we have determined a new profile is being set up, rather than an edit taking place.

I imagine something similar will have to be done in the items section.

Hope this helps someone.

P.s. It'd be awesome if there'd be some kind of option to set the maxium amount of items/profiles per usergroup. I now am giving my registered users the ability to create 1 profile, and unlimited items. I'd have prefered to set it to 2 services with 3 items each or something along those lines :)

i have the microbusiness installed and im wondering 2 things..

1. cant I remove users ratings as admin?

2. cant i remove my own ratings as admin?

3. cant i sort the businesses accorting to rating ?
