is dosn't run in my trial. If I used just $username without URL, it's very well.

I found the same error with the script which I downloaded from here only 2 days back. Attached is the mod with that error fixed. No other changes except fixing that database error.

I found some other problems with this mod.
1. All new welcome posts are moderated even after turning off the thread moderation option.
2. When using more than 1 user for the thread creator option, it creates new threads from those users but only 1 thread has the name of the new member. The other threads have only the welcome message without the name of the new user.

VB - 3.8.3
Welcome thread mod used in After email verification mode.

Yes! this fixed the error, thank you,
But now it makes an empty forum, with no user name...?? :( (Creates two forums, one WITH user name, one without)


Another question/idea. Can this be set to allow the forum creation AFTER the account is moved out of the group (Users awaiting moderation) ?

can we have it where it says there information? like when they register and the thread is posted inside the thread it says
"Hey im Username, i am Age, my email is Email@Email.com"
so like it already makes the total introduction ?

Posted this over three weeks ago...absolutely no response from developer.

Needles to say...uninstalled and the mod and support were appropriately rated...

I've read through this entire thread...I installed this yesterday, had it set to post the thread *after* registration...each thread came with a duplicate thread that had no username in it, ip addresses of ALL the new members I welcomed (since it was set to post from my username) were ALL associated with my username, and the titles were all the same...no randomness as yet lol.... some of these issues have been posted by several others before me and not answered yet the mod says it's supported...will there be any support forthcoming for the issues posted?

I have uninstalled this mod for now...would be awesome if the remaining issues could be fixed :)

does anyone know if its possible to include the referrers username if the newly registered user filled in that field? If they didnt fill it in, I'd like it not to appear.

I just installed this and it's started making random threads with no username inserted. I didn't even get a new member! Shame. Uninstalled for now.

This mod needs to be dumped into the graveyard...since, obviously, there's absolutely no support...and many users are having issues with it.

We are about to remove this Modification, there seems to be a security flaw, or weird security related issue, regarding this.

Perhaps others could report back.

To test:

If you have this mod fully working.

Look at the new thread greeting, and who it is posted by ( ours is set to 1 of 3 or 4 mods , selected at random)

Take a note of their IP ( your MOD that is )

Now look at the IP of the new member they just greeted !

The IP's match !

Now what is causing this. We have a support thread ongoing at vb.com and here

Wow your right, I just searced my username and I have about 100 different I.P addresses come up! From all over the world!!

Are we sure it's deffinatly this mod?

Edit both plugins, find

I've had this on my forum for a while now. It works great for 3-4 new members and then stops, nothing at all. I have to change settings, save, put settings back and re-save to get it working again. Whats up with that?

Obviously from the comments here, support is mute. It's sad, I liked this add-on.

This mod breaks user activation by mail functionality... gosh... DO NOT USE!!
Cost me an hour to track it down to this module...

It's not supported on other 3.8.x versions except 3.8.2.
If a tool is not supported, dump it please...

I have installed it, and I like it so far.

I have not made the site live to the public yet, and I plan on using FB Connect. Will this also work with FB Connect, so when someone logs in with their FB account for the first time will it also add them to the welcome forum?
