I can't access my forum to fix anything. I have SSH and FTP access though. please help!

RedTyger 02-26-2009 08:16 AM

You haven't uploaded the files correctly, double-check the instructions.

Booyakan 02-26-2009 01:49 PM

i had purchased brand free a while back, can you please tell me where to download those versions, i have already registered to your site under the same name, thanks.

morrow 02-26-2009 09:00 PM

I see you've updated something today. Is there a revision history? Does the new version fix the edit post thing whereas you must click it twice to edit posts.

Hey... other than that, I've been using this mod for quite some time and it's great. Thanks for all of your hard work.

RedTyger 02-26-2009 09:22 PM

Glad you like it! There sure is a revision history.

any way to install custom blocks to specific forum cells,
like this site here http://www.modularfords.com/forums/

I would like to add images to a catagory for forum, is this possable?

2k05gt 02-27-2009 01:27 AM

Also, Is there a way to add a frame or box around the ads in the left or right columns?

Look at their sponsor Links http://s197forum.com/forum/

bertwrld 02-27-2009 03:12 AM

Is anyone having any problems using this with ibproarcade?

Yes, but this is almost certainly easier to do just by editing the forum template rather than running it through an advertisement.

There's a whole bunch of modifications or just instructions to do the template edit if you search for "forum sponsors" or something along those lines.

Added it to the FAQ: http://redtyger.co.uk/manual.php?pro...isible_columns

It's untested but should work correctly. If not, it's a place to start.

kronnos 02-27-2009 07:21 PM

Glad to see a quick update. BTW, Why a second beta version, are there still known bugs that havent been fixed?

RedTyger 02-27-2009 07:29 PM

Not as far as I know, but they have a habit of turning up unexpectedly. I'll remove the beta tag when bug reports stop.

thanks for the reply....

Can you tell me how I can move the ads in the right column down and over a little

RedTyger 02-28-2009 09:12 AM

Add <br /> above the new code you pasted in. Add more <br /> if it needs spacing further.

bertwrld 03-01-2009 06:02 AM

I am getting this error now when i am using this with ibproarcade.

with gzip off in vb admin panel, i get
Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #1 is not an array in [path]/includes/vb_ad_management/cache_templates.php on line 67

if i turn gzip on, i get a content encoding error?

any ideas

Thanks

RedTyger 03-01-2009 08:48 AM

That file doesn't exist in the 5.xx version, sounds like you still have parts of the old vB Ad Management running. Have a re-read through the upgrade instructions in the manual.

Switch02 03-01-2009 09:26 AM

Very nice mod.

bezibaerchen 03-01-2009 03:37 PM

Since update to 5.01 none of my ads are working. Footer advertisement even breaks my style (it is or rather *was* javascript). Adding a simple text didn't display either.

Header advertisement just doesn't display anymore.
Installed 5.01, imported settings from v4, installed forum addon, imported settings as well and uninstalled v4 via addons and plugins. Addiotional menu in ACP disappeared. Result is the one mentioned above. Previews are working fine for header and was well for footer ads.

Any hints?

Got vbSEO installed too, but wasn't able to find the file where fixes need to be made (not even sure whether this is my problem as deactivating vbseo didn't help either).

RedTyger 03-01-2009 04:38 PM

vBSEO problems are now fixed as far as I know.

Have a look if the ad templates can be reverted and revert them if so. They're all called advertisement_something.

bezibaerchen 03-01-2009 05:05 PM

Yepp, that did the job!

Thanks a lot for fast reply and help!

kimmer 03-01-2009 06:30 PM

I had your previous ad management and used it to put a banner below the navbar, imported the settings to the new 5.01 and it showed two banners. I deleted the old ad management per instructions and now no banner shows up. I look at the banner preview in the cp and it shows up, but not on the forum? Any ideas?

I tried the template revert also, but no luck.

Wicked One 612 03-01-2009 06:45 PM

In vBulletin 3.8.1 if this mod is installed, it breaks the quick edit function.

Uninstalled.

Er...no ideas leap to mind. Can I have a link to the forum?

Didn't you get the update email? That's been fixed, you're a version behind.

Julian360 03-02-2009 02:50 AM

I have found a bug, see more on picture ;)
*Show me*

RedTyger 03-02-2009 08:48 AM

I need to see the full ad code.

Julian360 03-02-2009 03:06 PM

Full code:
Code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.sponsorads.de/script.php?s=134841"></script>

Others question:

How can I create a user, between the normal contributions of the user posting advertising?

testbot 03-05-2009 12:15 PM

this is a very awesome mod. any ideas on when it's moving out of beta?

testbot 03-05-2009 05:09 PM

just an fyi, every time i enable this mod my cpu goes from 0.98 or so to 2.8+ ;)

paintballer.ie 03-05-2009 05:30 PM

Does this track clicks or provide any stastics?

Thanks

morrow 03-05-2009 09:16 PM

I'm using this in combination with the forum ad management mod and both of them are great!!!!

A few requests... Any way to display an ad if a certain keyword is entered? The other thing is... I'm receiving page errors (vb3.8) (vbam_ajax is undefined) but only if google ads are being displayed. I'm using phpads or openads and those dont seem to have this issue.

I'll be donating a little something regardless.

Nice work!

Deyth 03-06-2009 01:28 AM

If the ad refresh is enabled, does each refresh count as a new ad impression?

morrow 03-06-2009 03:34 PM

Just when I thought everything was working perfect...

On my photopost pages and reveiwpost pages; The ads display but then after 5-10 seconds or so, I receive the following:

Photopost:
Quote:

Warning: require_once(./global.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/njfly/public_html/photopost/ajax.php on line 37

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required './global.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/njfly/public_html/photopost/ajax.php on line 37
Reviewpost:
Quote:

Warning: require_once(./global.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/njfly/public_html/reviewpost/ajax.php on line 37

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required './global.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/njfly/public_html/reviewpost/ajax.php on line 37
I remember receiving the same error message a few months ago and posting about it on the photopost site. They said it's not their problem.

Any ideas?

a squared 03-06-2009 09:59 PM

I've tried adding a banner in a particular forum with the following code. And I get nothing. What have I missed?

Code:

<if condition="in_array($forum, array(39))">
<br />
<a href="http://www.example.com" target="_blank"><img src="images/banners/large/example.gif" alt="example" border="0"></a>
<br /><br />
</if>

I'm afraid not. That's a whole different ballgame really.

Page errors as in on the actual page? Or a pop-up javascript error? If the latter, make sure you have the latest javascript files uploaded, they changed in the latest version. Otherwise I need to see the whole message.

It's just the same as a page load, so unless they have something to detect differences it almost certainly will do.

Hmmmm. I was told this was much more efficient than the others, although that was an earlier version. Is there any obvious pattern or cause? Or does it leap simply when it's turned on doing nothing?

No stats. There's no way any modification is going to be able to do anything remotely as good as a third party tracking system, I'm not even going to try. It wouldn't be in anyone's best interest. Look into Google Analytics or something similar.

a squared 03-07-2009 01:24 AM

These errors appear on the main page, not in a popup window. Here's a clip from my server log.

You can see the error here (http://www.njflyfishing.com/reviewpost/index.php). Open the link, count to 10 and the error will display in place of the banner.

EDIT: I'd also like to point out that this seems to happen when the ad goes to refresh. If I increase the time to refresh than the error happens but take a while longer.

Thanks again.

It looks like my modification is conflicting with something in the reviewpost/photopost code, although I can't imagine how. I'd need to see a copy of the code.

There is some good news; using the refresh is against the Adsense TOS. So I'd stop using it right away if I were you.

a squared 03-07-2009 01:54 PM

It's in Navbar. Without the conditional it works fine. Of course it shows throughout the forum. I'm surprised it hasn't worked. On my live site I've hardcoded conditionals into the Navbar template using this code.

Code:

<if condition="$forumid == 39">
<br /><center>
<a href="http://www.example.com" target="_blank">
<img src="images/example.gif" alt="example" border="0">
</a>
</center><br /><br />
</if>

I didn't realize that, I'll turn it off now!

Again, I love this modification.
