FTAALPHA 04-15-2009 03:26 AM

I have my files in publichtml folder I do not use a forum folder so were would i upload the flash chat files to or do i need to mod the script ?

JulianWolf 04-17-2009 01:35 PM

Hi Everybody,

the Forum at Tufat is down and I have problems installing the flashchst 5 itself with the vB3.8-Connection.

Does anybody know, which files could be manually adjusted to get everything done? Something like a settings-file, when the intallation-script is not working. ;-)

Best wishes, Julian!

Paul M 04-17-2009 03:55 PM

The Tufat forums seem fine to me.

JulianWolf 04-17-2009 04:14 PM

Hi Paul,

well ... nice to hear from you. I didn´t want to mail you directly, because you said you haven´t time for support. And on top of that, FC is not your product.

However ... yes, there seem to be different URLs for the Forums, some of them are working and some not. Some of theire Links are still pointing to "https://", and using that url will cause problems. I found ist is mcuh easier to discard the "s".

However, I didn´t find a solution, but it seems like FC 5 is still very buggy. Would you also recomment to stay with 4.7 for the moment? I tried to install FC5 for two days now, but it seems like I should give it up. I can´t get it working.

Best wishes, Julian!

FTAALPHA 04-17-2009 06:05 PM

can i get a reply please if anyone knows the answer ? i can always make a forum folder and move everything but i would rather leave it there

OK, thanks. So I will need to improve my server, I was hoping for the cache-features from FC5, but when I can?t use it I guess my server will breake down in speed now. ;-)

Best wishes, Julian!

gbox master 04-18-2009 11:05 PM

Just copy/edit an existing navbar link (like the FAQ).

Having had only one strange problem where my admin users always get to log in ok but normal members get [null] and no chat I did an uninstall and noticed when reinstalling that right after the step to do the integration I get this error
Code:

Warning: unlink(/var/www/archeli/forums/chat/install_files./../temp/templates/cache/ruansoft.txt) [function.unlink]: No such file or directory in /var/www/archeli/forums/chat/install_files/step_insert.php on line 98

can anyone fathom this?

[UPDATE] Interestingly enough on the second install (despite the above error - which passed as part of an automatic refresh btw - I had to go back and stop the process in order to capture it for this post) everything has worked fine...[/UPDATE]

stardotstar 04-23-2009 11:04 AM

Further, is there any way that usergroup access can be provided to rooms rather than password protection.

I don't need password for my main room but I would like a private admin chat area that the guys can access without using a password all the time.

I understand that this integration was done with 4.x but not 5 (is that right)?

Has anyone got a different approach/workaround - ie using one of the existing options and maybe a direct link to a private room...

Great Hack - absolutely great integration - my members love it and thus INSTALLED++

Private rooms for mods/admins is a standard part of FC4 and FC5

Finally, I am not Tufat.com or Flashchat Support - if you have questions about Flashchat, their forums are here.

Sorry, no idea, I cant help with other modifications.

Wonksta 04-23-2009 11:42 PM

Fair enough mate perhaps you can tell me how to add stuff under the footer? I would like to add Chat rules but I can't find out how to add anything in the footer where the (C) is - The only place I can see if in the .xml file which would mean I'd have to uninstall and install to simply add to the footer... Any ideas?

Paul M 04-23-2009 11:45 PM

Its a template (Flashchat) - just edit it as you would any other template.

Wonksta 04-24-2009 01:19 AM

Thank you Paul excuse my arrogance I am new at all this. :)
Cheers for the wonderful integration btw.

VirusLIVED 04-27-2009 11:46 AM

Hello,

I just recently downloaded the newest version of FlashChat (5.0.11) and was preparing the integration when I noticed a huge problem. It seems as though TUFAT.com has update the "flashchat_inc.php" file and has excluded the rewrites needed as stated in the integration instructions.

So what do I do now? I have no way of editing the "flashchat_inc.php" file now that the code is different. Should I just run the integration upload without rewriting "flashchat_inc.php"?

Thank you for your great mod by the way. I hope you can help me with this new problem! :)

Paul M 04-28-2009 06:35 PM

Its not a problem (huge or otherwise).

Having looked today, they have actually altered 5.0.11 to set transparent mode themselves, so that step is no longer needed - its done by default.

Joey Link 05-08-2009 06:35 AM

Is the latest version of FlashChat stable enough to use?

Paul M 05-08-2009 10:49 AM

No idea, I suggest that question is better asked on the Tufat forums.

Wonksta 05-08-2009 12:45 PM

I've been running the latest FlashChat 5 on my forum for a couple of weeks - Busy chat room with NO problem or server load if that is what you are concerned about.

odln018 05-11-2009 05:12 PM

I performed the integration install on my testforum (after playing with it in standalone mode). When I install this mod, and select FlashChat from the community link, it brings up a blank white window, no login, etc.

radmoose 05-14-2009 11:28 PM

When I click on any of the items in the left side navigation for this MOD (in Admin CP) such as "Messages" it just goes to the main admin page of FlashChat in the right side window as opposed to directly going to the Messages section.

Is there something I did wrong when installing it?

It isn't that big of a deal, just seems to not work 100% the way it should and I just thought I might have screwed something up.

Any ideas?

There is no AdminCP main page in this hack, it my AdminCP addon hack to this one you are talking about, and yes, it is supposed to work that way. Any other questions in regards to my hacks, please ask in my hack threads, as Paul M will not know what you are talking about.

PayJ 05-15-2009 05:50 PM

Hi,

I am looking for someone who can install my Flashchat on my forum and possibly the Facebook Connect plugin.

Thanks

mystikmedia 05-17-2009 03:12 PM

Is it possible to integrate this with all or some pages of the forum, rather than its own new page, with perhaps the ability to control the height of the chat?

txbritt 06-04-2009 03:23 AM

I like this mod but ... everytime I upload it into my flash chat I get an xml error in the chatroom.

TheLastSuperman 06-05-2009 12:38 PM

Thanks for the work on this Paul, I appreciate it & Installed.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Paul thanks for this but am unsure on what to do ive read your install.txt

Code:

Step 1. (if not already done)

Install Flashchat, ticking the option to integrate with a CMS (on the first page where install permissions are checked)

On the CMS page choose the vBulletin 3.8 option and continue the install.

Do i have to get some other files from tufat with this mod of yours?
as i get this error trying to install this

Code:

Importing Product, Please Wait...

[:]

Please remember to Mark as Installed at vBulletin.org

Install Information

Setting CMS value

Warning: require_once([path]/chat/temp/config.srv.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/admincp/plugin.php(1995) : eval()'d code on line 5

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/anime/public_html/chat/temp/config.srv.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/*****/public_html/admincp/plugin.php(1995) : eval()'d code on line 5

Sorry i jsut dont understand this "CMS" stuff

Cheers
Mike

Paul M 06-20-2009 09:56 AM

CMS is vbulletin as far as flashchat is concerned.

Also, this is just an integration mod - you must have actual flashchat installed.
