I dono if this has been thought through. Using the forum template relies on every path in the style sheet to be absolute.

Also, when you do a test send, the email sends but the page redirects to non existent page.

Another point: I have 18,000 members. I told it to send 10 emails per cycle.. So maybe you could explain that better. I then set it to send 9000 per cycle. The screen's gone white and the page has stopped loading, so i'm not sure if i've send the email or not.

I'm sure it's fine for forums with one or two members in, but not mine :(

The mail function in this version is called per user in this version, so you may want to keep it at about 1000 or so (try less if you'd like). And when you do a test send, it shouldn't redirect at all heh.

Unfortunately, this mod only works if your style uses only basic style formatting, as done entirely through the CSS settings available in AdminCP's style manager. For forums with advacned styling, that use any customised CSS, the mod doesn't work - it completely fails on both of my forums.

Link me over to a demo or pm me so that you can forward me a copy. As I've said before, even though the light mod isn't built with the same style handling, etc.. It should still cover general layouts and stuff for the most part and not break on you.. So if you're having a problem, just let me know :up:

OK, i am a newbie for uploading and installing any mods, please be gentle. I entered my cpanel and found the forum folder in the web-root directory. I created a new folder and uploaded the files from the upload folder.

I have tried it by uploading all of the files within the upload folder as well as all but the .xml file and placing the .xml file into the admincp of my vBullitin.

I think I am uploading to the wrong place but I don't know what else to try.

Where did I go wrong?

You need to upload c_news_letter to your main forum directory (where you see your admincp, modcp folders etc) and then go into the /includes/xml directory and upload the cpnav_c_news_letter file there.

There's no need to make a new folder under forums.

It works fine, just two things:

- When you click "GO" to sent a test newsletter it gives me the typical IE screen of "No Page Found" but the e-mail is sent anyway and arrive OK at destination.

- When I send the newsletter to my users most e-mails came back, specially when users have Hotmail accounts wih the error message: "Returned due rejection policy".

I would like to edit the # of post listed in the "news" and "latest News" Where do I go to do this

I don't know if this has been covered yet but the preview of this newsletter on my site is showing banned members in the list of "latest members". That is not good at all and without that being removed, I can't use this. Any plans to eliminate that from happening?

I fixed the image path, do NOT have Store CSS Stylesheets as Files enabled and the buttons show up in the test email, not in the sent ones. Any ideas?

when this newsletter is installed the should box will not work in any other page unless its the front page. is there a fix for this?. i am running 3.7.3

This hack is good but there is one big problem.

When a user has deactivate the option to get a newsletter, he get it anyway.

Anyone else have this problem?

In Germany we have a Spamlaw. When you have a forum with a newsletter there must be an option to deactivate it but when this function does not work, everybody can asperse you.

When a user deactivates option for newsletter? The light version doesn't have this feature, it's only available in the premium version. Works fine in the premium version.

You can filter by usergroups when sending letters.

Vbulletin Options -> Style & Language Settings -> Store CSS Stylesheets as Files. Try toggling this feature.

What images aren't showing for you in the light version?

Currently I send email messages to the members through the default email feature in the Admin ACP of vbulletin. That does not allow you to custom format your message with updates. I normally like to have bullet points with the description underneath. Nothing fancy but I'd like to be able to bold and use special characters, and send the same way. Does this do this?

Hey there, I set this up and am using the light version.

Everything looked pretty good until I sent the mail. I set it for 500 (the vbulletin mail send default) and it sent to about 200 members then crashed. I have only about 1100 members.

This is just a guess, but try setting the number of people to mail to at once a lot lower. A lot of hosts see that many email connections in a short amount of time and can shut things off. If that happens, you'll probably get a crash message if the script isn't looking for such types of actions.

Again, this is just a guess, but it's what I'd try to do.

I can't keep doing this. This is twice now it's crashed literally in the middle of my member base. I only have 1100 members. Now I have to bother them again if this gets fixed.

REMOVED - If you have over 500 members this mod is useless. It's stops sending after 450
