This also messes up any php URL's I have on vBAdvanced.

Why would you suggest something works with vBAdvanced and it does not? Makes no sense. Here I have wasted a good hour removing a previous hack to add this one... adding it, fiddling with it and it doesn't work as claimed. It only makes me want to stay as far away from your hacks as I can.

Wow...I've been using the old version for a long time and came to check out vs 2.0 pro and after reading through the last 5+ pages of no support I'll pass.

Looks like the other VBorg option is a much better alternative.

What is a decent alternative to this?

Thanks

I use the old 3.6 version. Still works like a charm

Super Jinni 01-07-2009 03:59 PM

anyway to make it work with vbadvanced?
I just upgraded from 1.1.2 which was working great. but I was surprised that this is not working at all with vbadvnced.
any fix for this please?
thanks

----------- Edit -----------

after testing it on the forum and posting several video links on some threads it does not work at all.
I have 3.7.5 running.
any idea why is that?

thanks again

kursed 01-09-2009 04:24 PM

Using this hack, results in an error on my forum when previewing a post / thread.

Code:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/****/****/forum/includes/functions_newpost.php(1064) : eval()'d code on line 1

MikeTrin 01-19-2009 05:18 PM

Abandon-ware full of bugs, double posts youtube videos. Installer beware.

jkcerda 01-20-2009 09:59 PM

looks sweet

DoDe 01-24-2009 11:41 AM

On my site with Vbadvanced it's working properly.
check it here www.dfgrom.com
As I said before it might not work properly on vbadvanced if you do not do this:

I have been running it on 3.8.x for a month

Great, thanks!

3.7.2 PL1

I will not update the vbulletin. I have no need.

I have the original passive vid installed, but I have a lot other mods installed as well. The old passive vid is no longer supporting metacafe or yahoo.

If I buy this, do I have to uninstall the current passive vid to install the new one? And are there any known issues if I uninstall and re-install. My entire site is video media.

Thank you

Videx 02-05-2009 03:32 PM

Do NOT buy this now as it hasn't been updated in ages. The online video scene is changing so rapidly, constant updates on these things are required. AME seems the only choice right now.

nightbloom 02-16-2009 08:51 PM

I tried to hang in there with PassiveVid because I really liked the product of the past but I asked for and even offered to PAY for WeGame to be added.

Due to overwhelming pressure by the forum users, I have had to switch.

Sorry guys.

Many users have the problem. It seems all of them I know so far are using vbSEO.
The problem has allready been reported in august 2008, but still the developer didn't reply.

So, if you use vbSEO don't use the paid verion. It's not working for you, and there is no support.

I'm the same way..I have pressure to get it to work with our own video section and some other sites. Is there aother mod or plug in that is better?

I use vbseo with the free version..I paid for the other one, but this developer does not answer posts or pms.

The only other option at this time that I'm aware of is AME 2.5 - Media Embedding for posts, sigs, vm's, groups and blogs .

I preferred Passive Video because it was... passive. I mean, it didn't change the posts in any way. AME edits posts to conform, which bothers me. But at least it works, and sites are kept updated by someone else entirely: DJ's AME (Auto Media Embedding) XML Media Definitions for AME 2.5 (Delta) .

tlwwolfseye 03-06-2009 10:39 AM

So is that Mod recommendable or rather not ?

turkforum 03-08-2009 07:50 PM

what about 3.8.x for this mod?

This is correct. Tons of errors.

Will this be updated?

Dukefrukem 03-31-2009 01:00 AM

does no one roam these forums??

Aeolian 04-01-2009 01:05 AM

hello!
this is an awesome mod :)
i am looking forward to purchase the PRO version of the mod.
however, i have 3 questions...

1. can admin disable the repetition of the videos in a quote reply?
2. is it easy to add custom code for player? i have a flash video player in my site and i wish to take videos from there and post in forum topics.
3. can we use this mod in socialgroup section of the forum?

thanks in advance.

Dukefrukem 04-03-2009 04:51 AM

hello??????????

can anyone give an answer here????

Videx 04-03-2009 05:26 AM

As myself and others have said, this mod is dead. The author left town the day after updating it to 2.0 and hasn't been seen since. Do not buy it, do not install it.

I'm sorry if our warnings get lost after a few days. I have tried to make vb.org aware of the problem, but have so far been unable to get much more than a warning that people should read all pages of a mod before installing it. Of course, nobody does.

Thank you for an update. Are there any other mods available that are similar?

at the top of this page, it says "Developer Last Online: Apr 2009"

Videx 04-03-2009 01:08 PM

At this time the only alternative I am aware of is AME 2.5 - Media Embedding for posts, sigs, vm's, groups and blogs . The only way that author manages to keep it updated is by letting someone else write the definitions so you'll also need DJ's AME (Auto Media Embedding) XML Media Definitions for AME 2.5 (Delta) .

The typist(s) appearing as "Coders Shack" are apparently not the author of this mod. They don't even appear to have a passing familiarity with how it works, which is probably why none of the users questions are ever answered. A darn shame, as I preferred this no-edit approach.

Dukefrukem 04-04-2009 04:49 PM

thank again.

AMailer 04-04-2009 04:59 PM

Yep, this mod is highly problematic. The PassiveVid 1.x works better --- i mean it actually works with 3.8.x

wonder if this is true for Live Topic, as well? That Mod wreaks havoc with many other mods.

Marco van Herwaarden 04-17-2009 08:50 AM

Please be aware that vB.org is not the place to discuss any commercial versions. Please only discuss the free available version as released in this thread.

Floris 04-17-2009 09:14 AM

If this is a free addon to vBulletin, why do you post the full version details? Isn't just a simple link to spam your commercial site enough? It is misleading that the post has the "specs" of the full version. Kind of makes this CLEARLY just be a 'quick little lite' thing that's totally useless, just trying to get money.

I am sorry, but I am principle about this and can't support it. Decided against installing it, because it feels it's just meant to push users to buy the full version. If you want to advertise your product why not just go to a site and pay for the ad slot?

That's interesting. Why didn't you decide not to install it because it doesn't work? I'm guessing because you didn't read all the pages of posts? Nobody does.

We need a quarantine for non-functioning mods.

SlimTheMan 04-21-2009 08:06 PM

I've installed this and it doubles the video.

mariocaz 04-21-2009 11:20 PM

Yes also the double same video in the posts is happen to me.

Help!!
