Meh...My Option Is Better....
If that is what you want to do then its fine, I was just merely suggesting that you could use the inbuilt features that are already there. But if you want to make your own modifications fine by me.

And No Thanks On The Making Special Usergroups Thing, Sounds Like You Don't Have That All The Way Worked Out....
Its fully worked out... you want to enable some people from accessing it you have to put them in their own usergroup. Like for signatures, there is no list to let certain users use signatures, you use the usergroup permissions. I won't be adding an option to enable it for just certain users... You could maybe try reversing the "Banned Users" option in the vBulletin Options but you'll have to do it yourself.

Nah its not. I've just been busy. ;)

I know it is a lot to ask but I am having some trouble with it on the Cyb - ChatBox.
The username appears as the "Username HTML Markup" in the Usergroup Manager to everyone, but appears as chosen by the "Individual Username HTML Markup" to only that user.
I hope that has made sense?? Is there anyway you could help, so that we could all see the username colour according to the "Individual Username HTML Markup"??
Muchly appreciated
:)

Opserty 08-22-2008 04:49 PM

You could probably try looking through the plugins. Look for where it says:
PHP Code:

user.username

Changing it to:
PHP Code:

user.usernameuser.op_markup

That is probably all I can/am willing to do.

P.S. Mark as installed, if you've installed it! :p

This is a great little mod, and I've got it installed, but I have one question. Is there a way to disable the marked up usernames from displaying in the who's online areas?

Dark Cynicus! 08-23-2008 07:57 PM

can this be used for 3.5.4?

Again, read through the thread, this mod is for 3.7.x ONLY

It will NOT work on: 3.6.10-3.6.0 or 3.5.x or 3.0.x or 2.0.x series.

Try disabling the Plugin with the hook location: online_query

Try it and find out for yourself, I am not supporting the 3.5.4 version though so, don't complain if it doesn't work. ;)

ANGELO2K8 08-27-2008 05:57 AM

Great mod, have it installed.

Question though... How likely is it for you to add the ability for users to change their username in the same interface? If they are changing the display of their username it would be cool for them to be able to change their username on the same options area.

I plan on using this feature for high ranking members only and would like for them to be able to change their usernames at will.

Thanks

Opserty 08-27-2008 08:38 AM

That is an entirely different modification, sorry. My focus with this modification is on the markup around the Username not the Username itself.

DarkGizmo 08-27-2008 01:12 PM

Op, I know you're a busy man but I was just wondering any chance of seeing the border option soon? :)

Opserty 08-27-2008 04:47 PM

As vBulletin say... "It will be released when its done." :D

q22inc 09-02-2008 07:55 PM

Opserity...

I'm experiencing a weird problem. I loaded the 2 files, and imported the product. I see the html markup in the vBulletin Options area. But...users don't see anything in there User CP > Edit Options.

Could you help me fix this please?

Opserty 09-02-2008 08:25 PM

What version of vBulletin are you running?

Please create a new Style with no Parent set. Now browse the page using this new style, do you still have the same problem?

q22inc 09-02-2008 09:09 PM

For some reason users colors don't update in the General chat area, but do update in the overall index page.

Any clue why this is?

Hi,

Sorry it was a simple error. I hadn't enabled user permissions in the usergroups area.

In fact...the color doesn't show up anywhere else.

It only shows up in the Main Index page of the forums. :(

Take a look: www.iBakwaas.com

very nice. is there any way to make a "preview" box with the username in it that updates when colors are changed and options are checked?

It works on the forum index and on the showthread pages. It will only work on places where vBulletin normally has it, as I have stated many times before.

In the latest version I included one that shows a "passive" preview, i.e. it will show it after you've changed & saved it, currently I have not managed to get my head round the new AJAX so I can't really create a live preview.

k :( actually a better way would be doing it the same way other mods do.. like name that tune & p3tz... they let you pick what point system you use by having a spot where you enter the table which for vbcredits its Credits... don't know if you know how to implement that but you might be able to look at those things to find out.. hope I'm not the only 1 that wants this to be integrated with a points system :P

Opserty 09-07-2008 11:15 AM

Its obviously possible but doubt I'm going to bother. It just creates extra hassle as it means extra research, time, effort. The biggest concern is that it creates a dependency on another modification, which is out of my control and so I would have to maintain the product to also work with that modification as well. I thought these points system already included something like this anyway? Maybe not.

VBCredits doesn't which is what I use heh.. well it kinda does.. they're making a shop for vbcredits soon.. think its being released to paid subscriptions ina few days but that shop has too much extra stuff that I don't even want honestly.. really rather just have this heh

and the other mods that you can input a credit type aren't dependent on another mod.... you can leave it blank and it won't use credits.. or you can put in a credit type & amount and it would use credits heh.

Opserty 09-08-2008 07:25 AM

Its unlikely I'm going to do it. :D

Oh, so it's by design to only appear in certain areas.

Bummer. :( Is there any way to fix this, or a mod in the making that would update it so it appears in all areas? I've been on boards where all of the usernames change in all areas, and they let users change the names themselves. How do they do it?

DarkGizmo 09-20-2008 04:15 PM

Any updates Op? I know you're busy dude but did you get any further in the progress?

nascartr 09-28-2008 03:50 AM

Hello. Excellent mod! Any chance of their being a reset to default option? There's no way to go back to the original look of my username now that I've changed.

dnicu26 09-28-2008 01:27 PM

Thanks a lot!

That's a very good idea for v2. :D

dnicu26 10-12-2008 07:49 PM

Hmm, I have a problem on my forums; I use the Cyp Chatbox and Advanced Statistics mod as well and the username markup of the members (custom usergroup) does not affect their username colours in these two displays, only in the posts and active users.

However, myself, the admin, the moderators and super moderators' username colour changes accordingly all throughout, even when writing something in the chat box.

I've tried looking for a solution to this but couldn't find one. Is there something I am missing?

MentaL 10-12-2008 10:21 PM

Hi,

I want to be able to allow users to change their font, use bold and italic, I already have a usergroup markup on the subscriber usergroup (their username is red) but once this mod is activated and I attempt to do custom modifications (IE, change font style) it erases the predefined group markups, how do I resolve this.

(Also can you add the ability that once a user has changed usergroup ,(subscription runs out) that the users markup goes back to default).

Thanks.
