I installed this mod a few days ago on a suggestion from my forums other administrator.

We went from getting 10+ bot registrations a day, to none since installation. Thus far, this mod has totally stopped them dead!

Using the default 3.7 answer question is just the same :|

But, from what I understand, you can't use both the image and question options on 3.7. So, this adds a 2nd level of protection against Spam/bots by allowing vB to do it's image 'thing' and then adding this as the 2nd piece to that.

I might be wrong, but I believe that was the purpose of this hack/mod moved over to 3.7.

What Arny said, not to mention, you can add all your questions at once, not one by one by one like you have to do with vB default, which really takes longer then it should.

I don't recall if default lets you pick more then one answer, like pluralized answers to the same question: "mouse:mice:meeses". I'm pretty sure you can't do that with vB.

I also don't think you can use HTML with vB default, which you can here. I have my users identify a simple image (something bots can't read) for a lot of my questions. Like I might gave a question like "What kind of shape is this?" and have a picture of a circle or a square. (I just make sure not to give the image's file name the same name as the answer)

mate, i had a ton of spam getting past captcha, and i was deleting around ten spam bot account each night.
i was very sceptical that this mod would work but i decided to give this mod a try as i was really getting tired of spam bot accounts.

since installing this program i have not had a single spam account made. reall members are having less trouble trouble through this system than trying to read those stupid hard to read captcha pictures that dont seem to stop spam bots making accounts at all.
this mod is great, and this smashes those spam bots.

I was told that if the user made an error anywhere during registration and had to start again, it wouldn’t show the question. Other than that it was working great for me.

ReCAPTCHA was recently cracked by some kind of spam software, which is why vB.org blew up last month with tons of complaints about bot assauts.


There is only one file to import and it works with all versions of 3.7.1 and up.

In my case the NoSpam question, and answer box doesn't appear when entering the registration page if a member is already signed in and clicks the Register button. It does appear if you enter the site and try to register without anyone being signed in. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Um, huh? How on earth can an already registered member register again while logged in?

i've installed it, uninstalled it, enable disable enable and still it doesn't show the questions upon registration!

Well, first make sure the product is actually set to On.

Then double check your questions and make sure they're formated properly. They should all be question:answer1:answer2 and all Q&As should be on their own line.

Then make sure you actually have it set to display for registrations.

I have installed this plugin right now. But the plugin doesn't work at the time of posting new threads. Thats the main purpose for which I installed this product and now the main purpose is not getting solved... :( Please help me to resolve this issue.

This works at the time of registering new account but not while posting new posts or replying to the new posts.
