i have done it

for demo or donation send me a pm :)

TNCclubman 06-21-2009 11:58 AM

I think you can post it, since its free.

N-0p3rz 06-22-2009 05:24 AM

demo or donation?

Wouldn't you mean payment?

A donation is something done out of freewill. If we have to donate in order to get it then it really can't be considered a donation, can it?

Ckidd25 06-22-2009 06:24 AM

post it

kmohamed 06-24-2009 10:18 PM

great idea i thought of it

anyway it's a great aproach.

I am intrested in seeing this BUILT INTO vBulletin. At least built into vB 4. I would have more to say. Except I fear a moderator will end up removing this, or at least editing my post.

Elenna 06-28-2009 03:52 AM

Unfortunately, this isn't the place to make suggestions or request to vBulletin developers - I can't say if a vB.org moderator will do anything with your post, but you may want to see about suggesting it at vB.com.

Sorry, we do not have any timeline for Jabber integration. Jabber requires special-difficult-to-manage servers. Thus it can be only offered as a hosted solution. Also, we have released a new version with more features if you want to have a look.

rob01 06-30-2009 02:20 AM

there is already out a vb paid mod

just google it

daveaite 07-03-2009 06:10 PM

That would be neat

zimdude 07-09-2009 06:17 AM

We used to use Tufat scripts which allowed users to chat but they had to actually log into it even though it authenticated automatically with vbulletin.

Now we are using cometchat in which the chat bar is ALLWAYS open and idicates when their vbulletin friends are online. Our install was modified by them to ONLY show logged in users. Our forum has taken off since we did this as it becomes a LIVE forum

Look at www.cometchat.com

Thanks,

I have been looking for a chat like this. Just bought one domain license and branding free option and have it up and running now.

edytwinky 09-01-2009 02:40 PM

Will definitely look at the demo of this. May work great with my boards

MGP_Tech 09-12-2009 04:04 AM

Rock on CometChat... as soon as you got a public chatroom function on your mod (apparently it's coming the 15th of Sept. 2009) I'm all over your goodness! Feel free to PM me if it's out before then as I'm a guarenteed customer!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

-Dee

I would expect it to only show logged in users without modification really if I was to buy this rather than buy it and pay to have that feature added.

Does it not have usergroup control either?, I would not want all usergroups to have access to cometchat.

I've looked for the answer and tried the demo but still unsure.

u can dot if ny a simple vbulletin If condition

BucWiLd 09-24-2009 10:34 PM

its nice but hella expensive!

VonDoom 09-25-2009 03:22 PM

hella expensive? are you kidding me? I found it to be a great deal and considering how limited the options are for IM chats i couldnt be happier with the way it works and the price. Brand free option is a little up there but then im not to concerned with that considering how unobtrusive the brand really is. There is a conflict with AW Coding's Donotation system (Pro Only) I also concur that the mod should come standard to show members online opposed to whos on your buddy list. Witch really renders this hack useless to many members until they populate there friends lists.

bada_bing 09-25-2009 06:52 PM

Does this use VB usergroup permissions ?

TNCclubman 09-25-2009 07:38 PM

is the public chat option out yet?

Comet chat support can you answer this please.. I would rather not use if conditions but rather use the vb usergroups as it's cleaner and a true mod built for vb would include this type of interfration feature

BucWiLd 09-30-2009 12:00 PM

It is a nice mod but one thing i see missing is the fact that it only displays your online friends. so if some one visits and has no friends it displays a big fat 0 giving the impression that your forums are dead and the user may leave due to this. It would be much nicer if it displayed the true current users along with your friends. But only allowed you to talk with friends. i realize they could hit the view whos online mod but most times this is disabled to visitors, if they take the time to look for it after they see the big fat 0

TNCclubman 09-30-2009 01:02 PM

They were supposed to release that a month ago. Obviously the support has gone down or they've encountered a major hurdle to doing that.

How much did you pay VB and how much is this addon(with brandfree), can this addon mach 25% of VB?
Who is kidding here?
Most of us do not have proffitable boards so...IT IS TOO MUCH !

Iam not thinking of this one any more as its too much $, purchased tufats flashchat and installed shoutbox on my main page (not the same but it will do the trick)

Price is too high as this cant mach products as vba or such, but its developers choice to keep the price
Wishing him good luck and good future with this addon :D

ps
Btw if I purchase this one without removing brand, and if every software installed on my boards should have brand under it....how would my forums look?....first thing hit my imagination now is
Las Vegas

BucWiLd 09-30-2009 04:32 PM

you brought up some good points goxy. thanks clubman.. i guess it was to hard for them .lol. but if they want sales to pick up, especially for that price they need to make it more feature rich

VonDoom 09-30-2009 04:50 PM

Goxy i cant say i disagree with you but really the asking price isnt anything, In the grand scheme. if you want to grow your forums you are gonna have to spend a little here and there. Ive got a couple grand into my primary forum and it will take a considerable amount of time to see that return. However i can agree with you 100% on the branding fee way to expensive but in my case that's a brand i can live with as its logically placed and unobtrusive. This particular brand dosent bother me in the least bit. i have paid to remove a few brands primarily because of the location.

On another note after reading a bit i do agree that this product is far from complete and is currently pretty buggy. Therefore probably not worth what the Dev is asking. It should still be considered a Beta. It would definitely be worth the asking price if the latest release was out and on schedule. Im pretty disappointed in the lack of communication from the dev in response of the new release date. I believe we are entitled to know when we can update our paid product. and yes they do need to incorporate it into vB better in future releases. Usergroup options, a true integration into the ACP and the ability to switch between friends or users online would be a great start.

--------------- Added [DATE]1254333556[/DATE] at [TIME]1254333556[/TIME] ---------------

Also if your looking into a shoutbox with the ability to send and recieve inline PM's for free i would consider Chatbox EVO

bada_bing 09-30-2009 06:26 PM

I have purchased the branded free version but when I installed it it still show links and the icon back to there site?
