For some reason I cannot get either of the Gametrailer video files to work... :(

Everything else seems to be embedding fine....any quick tips of things I may have done wrong? I have deleted the xml files and re-installed them, but I still cant get them to work.

Digital Jedi 05-07-2008 10:30 AM

GameTrailers is the quirkiest of the ones I've worked with. It doesn't seem to work on the initial post, but it embeds just fine when you edit the post. A user just loading the page can't get the video to play, but if he has the ability to edit the post, re-saving it will make it play. This is, of course, completely different behavior then it was displaying two weeks ago, when videos requiring age verification weren't working, but are now.

I'll look into them this update cycle, but I'm starting to think more and more that GameTrailers will need to go on the no fly list.

Hello,

I need to get videos from a certain site, h3press.net, working with AME pretty bad. We're supposed to use their player as an agreement for sponsoring us. I've looked at the resources for making your own, but my coding skills are weak at best, and I think it's more then I can do at this point. o_0 So I was wondering if I could get a definition made for this site? I would be more then happy to donate to this hack if that would help :)

Heres an example video link: http://videos.h3press.net/video/a621...81003ee942.htm

Thanks.

Digital Jedi 05-08-2008 05:31 PM

I glanced at a couple of videos, and I don't see why it wouldn't work with AME. But, those are my famous last words, so let me actually see if I can make it work first. (IGN should work too, but for some reason, it doesn't.) Donations aren't necessary, but, hey, don't let me stop you from the calling of your heart. LOL :D

I'm hoping to have something for you guys tonight. But I don't want to set that in stone just yet, just in case something unexpected happens.

duckdodger 05-08-2008 06:52 PM

Thanks a lot, really appreciate it!

What about this for vB version 3.7?

ski diva 05-10-2008 06:44 PM

Does anyone else have this problem: youtube videos that appear twice in the same post, when they're only posted once? What gives? And what can I do about this? HELP!

Here's a partial view of what's going on (the bottom video is only partially visible)

Hi, I've got this installed, and it seems to be working great! One question though.

My students will be posting Quicktimes and SWF's that are a variety of different sizes, not just 320x240. Is it possible to make a mod that can display ANY kind of size thrown at it?

Right now my work around was to modify the XML to a really large size (960x556) to accomodate the video sizes, but this makes a gigantic box when the video is only 640x480.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Rob

CDNR 05-11-2008 05:55 PM

This is a wonderful hack. Just downloaded and installed, and it works as a charm.

The only part I can't get to work is the local part.It still only gives me a link. When I click on the link, I get the media, but I'd rather see it embedded.

I'll welcome all and any help :)

Thanks in advance.

Digital Jedi 05-12-2008 03:58 PM

Well, I'm glad I didn't promise anything definite. I've been busy all weekend. I should have an update here in a few minutes. But I did run into a few problems this time around.

You mean AME itself? So far, I've heard several reports that it's working on 3.7 just fine. So these definitions will import into it okay too.

Double check your definitions and make sure that you don't have two instances of YouTube Videos. Remember, importing new definitions will not overwrite your old ones of the same name.

Looking at your question, I think I have a solution. But I also think the existing definitions for Local Hosted Videos are just a bit inflexible at the moment. Let me get back to you after the next update, and I think I'll have something that should suit your needs.

Same as above. Let me get back to you on that. Also, are you trying to make attachments embed, or are you hosting them in their own folder?

I have the same problem, and I just installed a fresh copy of vB along with AME.

I noticed that if you disable External data fetching feature from youtube definitions, this one sometimes works and sometimes does not.

jscieza 05-12-2008 04:40 PM

I just can see Daily Motion Alice XML but not Daily Motion XML in your ZIP package :(

Digital Jedi 05-12-2008 04:41 PM

This was a pretty tough set of defs this time around. We've got some updates, but not near as many as I would have liked. Only two.

Unfortunately, Vurb Moto resisted embedding on my site. The RegEx just bounced back to a URL for me. I'm still not sure why. I don't know if has anything to do with the virus that tried to hit me when I last visited the site, but I'm trying to work around it. If someone wants to demo the definition I have, I'll be glad to share it with them.

UPDATES!
First up, I've got a "working" definition for BooMP3. The reason I use quotes is because it works, as long as the video does not use special or foreign language characters as part of it's name. So, for example, URLs like...
http://www.boomp3.com/listen/f9rfaj9/nelly-furtado-maneater
http://www.boomp3.com/listen/begvvxx/caged
http://www.boomp3.com/listen/dewg239/superstar
...embed just fine. But URLs like...
http://www.boomp3.com/listen/bx1hoad/1?-princesa-dalmacio
http://www.boomp3.com/listen/b71fz05/生命有價
http://www.boomp3.com/listen/fgzifu5/Андрей-Макаревич-Моя-любовь
http://www.boomp3.com/listen/dx9p2st/greeeen-キセキ
http://www.boomp3.com/listen/bv6mp1x/?-s?o-jo?o
...show resistance. I'm not sure if this has something to do with the language my site uses, or a character issue, or what. This is just outside my knowledge, but if anyone is willing to experiment with this on their site, I would love to hear what kind of results your getting.

Thankfully, H3Press gave me no problems, and should work for all their videos. If not, be sure to let me know.

Last Minute addition here. Daily Motion US needed to be updated again. This should make their new URL structures work, but, as always, if it doesn't, let me know. Be sure to delete/disable your olde Daily Motion US definition prior to adding this one.

That is portuguese (actually the song is a brazilian song) for "It's Saint John's season" :p

I will install right now the boomp3 add-on and try to see if in my board this song has some kind of issues and will inform you here.

hummm... It does not works for me...?!? :(

Does it need any kind of player to be installed on our board in the first place?

So far, they're not coooperating for me. It's too bad, too, because my site used them frequently. But I'll keep double checking.

Could I see an example of one that isn't working? Maybe I can troubleshoot it by looking at the source code.

Silvio 05-14-2008 09:43 PM

ty so much digital for this awesome work.

from few time youtube has decided (at least in italian site) to automagically change urls from www.youtube to it.youtube so all videos from youtube posted in my forum from users result only a link and are not parsed.
Is there the possibility to fix this? the only difference is on it. instead www.
ty so much

regards
ciao

edited: pls disregard this post i've fixed. Just downloaded again full xml and deleted old values from ame..Now working perfectly ty

Dear DJ: here it is!

The text is in portuguese and there is a test to the zShare XML definition in the same post. Just what might be...?

By the way, I believe that the zShare images that you have included in the Mod's description might have an error on their names...

What you have there is:
- zhare1.png
- zhare2.png
- zshare3.png

Note the lack of the 'S' letter on the first and the second file names

... I had to rename and include the 'S' in order to work properly. ;)

Ok, Thank you so very much for your time!

Ah, I see. For the first one it is indeed the ? and the ? that throw the ReGex off. I'm still researching regular expressions to see if there's a way to account for this.

For the second one, the URL your using doesn't have the www in it. I can remake the RegEx to account for that. I didn't realize that sometimes that would happen. In the meantime, just put in the www and it should embed for you.

Interesting. We had another user report I had made the same misspelling in the XML, but in my Admin CP, it was spelled correctly. Well, thanks for the catch. I'll go fix them.

furst 05-17-2008 03:27 AM

Would it be possible to add embedding for games from sites like nonoba.com?

Here's an example of the embed code they provide:
Code:

<object width="640" height="480" allowScriptAccess="never"><param name="movie" value="/mochiads/bubble-struggle-2-rebubbled.swf"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="never" ></param><embed src="/mochiads/bubble-struggle-2-rebubbled.swf" allowScriptAccess="never" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="480"></embed></object>

nando99 05-17-2008 08:53 AM

nevermind.... great mod

nando99 05-17-2008 09:09 PM

First off, great mod!!

I can't seem to get dailymotion to work properly.

I get "> before the video and it doesn't take the main default display design.

Example: http://www.fatboymagazine.com/forum/...ad.php?p=73858

I think so. I'll add it to the list of next updates. If for some reason it doesn't work I'll let you know at that time too.

Check your definitions and make sure you don't have multiple instances of Daily Motion.com. From what I can tell, it looks like there are three different versions conflicting.

Hmm.. I have

Daily Motion AliceEmbed DailyMotion.Alice.It Videos!
Daily Motion USEmbed DailyMotion.com Videos!
Daily MotionAuto link Daily Motion Videos

But's all from the MasterList....

Which one should I delete?

Digital Jedi 05-18-2008 07:28 AM

The last one, that's the one not from the Master XML. You should only have Daily Motion US and Daily Motion Alice. You probably had the old one still installed. Remember, importing new ones doesn't delete the old ones.

Stryker412 05-19-2008 12:52 PM

Sorry if this has been answered but is there an XML for HD videos on Gametrailers and the like?

Digital Jedi 05-21-2008 02:47 PM

Well, we do have one for Game Trailers and when you post you get the HD link. But if it's like IGN it probably opens the HD version in separate window.

forte 05-21-2008 11:07 PM

Need help for videos in http://revision3.com/. Tried doing it but i have no idea how to get the video's number needed.

D.Baker 05-22-2008 11:19 AM

Hey guys, great plugin and add-on. I have it working fine for external sites, but for some reason it won't do Quicktime files when they are on my own server.

You can see the post in question here.

I tweaked the XML through the AMECP to be like this:
Code:

Is this correct? If so, any ideas?

I tried with Gametrailers but all it does is offer a link. I imported the version from the zip file.

D.Baker 05-22-2008 02:32 PM

I still haven't found a solution for my quicktime problem (see here), so does anyone have it working?

I'm worried it's becuase I have my sites URL has a .au on the end, (www.popmag.com.au/a/b/c/d/xzy.mov) that it's causing troble. I guess I need to learn some RegEx.

D.Baker 05-23-2008 02:00 AM

OK, so SWF's aren't working either for me. I tried it on a domain with out .com.au and it still didn't work. Can someone confirm that they have it working and with what domain name and how many directories deep?

Thanks.

bradvandam 05-23-2008 05:46 PM

How do I import the definitions or delete the defintions in AME ? Where do I go in my Admin CP ?
